Definitely one of the highlights of our trip even though the flying shows were cancelled due to avian flu and the birds were under quarantine during our time of visit. Out of good will, we got a discount for our tickets. Stuart , the center manager gave us loads of valuable information about the birds. We watched a very interesting video on those amazing falcons too. Birds are very well looked. We enjoyed the visit very much.

Out of the many birds of prey centres I have visited, this rates as one of the highest. A large collection of beautiful species, with easy access to photograph. The 2 shows daily are very well presented, and the trainers are very informative (great fun too). I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area!

While the birds themselves are magnificent and the keepers showing them are great, I left with sadness at the sight of so many proud hunters confined to small cages or perches on the ground. There were a number of birds that had been rescued (well done you guys) but I can't say I felt much gladness in my heart. One keeper commented about muscle wastage during lockdown, which kind of makes my point. I must wondered throughout if there doesn't need to be done modernisation of the environment in line with others zoos and safari parks that have made more naturalistic environments.

The Birds of Prey Centre in Loch Lomond makes a fantastic morning or afternoon’s adventure. Myself and my Girlfriend were in the area for a long weekend and wanted to try it out. They are located at the Loch Lomond Sea Shore visitor centre in prime spot for everyone coming to visit, there is free on site parking available and various eateries, shops and activities available. As we entered the Bird of Prey centre we were met at a hut where you can buy tickets: luckily for us with it being slightly out of season we got a discounted couple pass which was £10 for the both of us. Birds of Prey have so many different types of birds but I have to say the owls were definitely the cutest. We ran into a girl who was doing the daily weighing of all the birds and she was so helpful and friendly telling us all about the centre, explaining all about the different birds and how they interact with humans and become jealous when other birds get more attention than they do. Only thing they weren’t running was the live flying shows which don’t start until April when the summer season starts, so will definitely be back to enjoy that later in the year. It was a great morning wandering around the centre brushing up our knowledge and actually being able to see them at arms length. The staff, especially the girl we spoke to were fantastic really keen in the work they do and made us all feel welcome. To finish it off they have a small gift shop with little soft toys, souvenirs and other merchandise, all the profits made go back into the centre which really made it worthwhile when I bought a small toy owl to take home… why not!

Amazing visit. Wristbands allowed us to pop in and out all day letting us catch all the flying shows while taking in the rest of Lomond Shores and having some lunch and ice cream too. It was great to see so many birds in flight and the shows and staff were really informative.

We came from the United States and added this as one of our stops while in Scotland. OH MY GOSH, what a treat. The flying show was awesome, the staff incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and the overall experience such a good time! I highly recommend adding the hawk or owl encounter (to be done in advance), it added such a unique element to our experience! The center was great in letting us schedule an excounter later in the day from their normal encounter times as we had an earlier engagement. Everyone who works there is more than happy to talk in depth about the birds. The eagles were in a separate area while their stalls were being cleaned, but they were more than happy to let us see them and answer our questions. If you have never seen an owl run, Miranda will not disappoint! Thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon, what a great addition to our trip!

I cannot remember the exact entry free, but it was seemingly cheap. The centre was fairly sized, in my opinion it was rather big for being a bird of prey centre. The flying shows are free to watch with entry and are extremely fun. The man that was flying the birds was obviously extremely knowledgeable, and it was fascinating watching him interact with the birds and see the bond they had. He had a great sense of humour and interesting stories about each of the birds. Also, Bones is the coolest bird in Scotland. Great place for both adults and kids on a nice day.

The Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre is a very worthwhile place to visit. Friendly, knowledgeable staff will help you understand more about these magnificent birds in this fully licensed zoo. The two displays that I saw were funny, informative and fascinating. I will visit again when I am next in the area.

Nice little place, enjoyed looking around. The only negative I have is there wasn't any interaction with staff members, maybe because it was late afternoon. But some interaction would've been nice. But all in all a good place, keep up the good work in protecting these magnificent birds.

If you like animals, avoid this place! It is tiny, and most of the birds are either kept alone in way too small cages or tied to poles with very short leads. They can't fly! The animals looked distressed and a couple of them kept trying to remove the leads and fly away. Some of their enclosures stank, as they weren't cleaned enough. We felt very sorry for all of the birds and left after a few minutes, as we couldn't bear watching them suffer. AVOID!

My family came in on Sunday and had a great time, my children loved seeing all the birds, and loved filling out the questionnaire (and only getting one question wrong) and getting their notebooks, Libby was amazing with my children and I reckon they would have kept talking to to her for hours. All my children have asked when are we going back, so another day out is in the works, see you soon.

Fantastic place to visit, where the birds are very well looked after by the fantastic staff. The staff are very friendly and down to earth. We'd highly recommend doing one of their experiences that are very personal and very relaxed. We done the meet the owls experience due to our love for owls, but they have a great choice. My wife and I have visited the west of Scotland a lot, but the centre is a real highlight and can't believe I've missed it before. Even if your a massive wildlife lover or just looking for something to do id highly recommend it.

When planning a visit to Balloch, I didn't even know this place exists. It ended up being the town highlight. Very informative, but the best part is the flying show. Do make sure you arrive at 11:30 or 14.

An amazing place!! Really glad we visited this wonderful bird of prey centre during our stay in Scotland. The staff were really friendly and happy to answer any questions we had. The birds looked healthy and well loved and the enclosures were clean and spacious. The kids loved being there and enjoyed the quiz and colouring in. Thank you for such a lovely day!

We had a meet the birds day for two booked for a birthday gift, it's a fantastic experience, a guided tour round all the birds with Stewart, then the chance to hold some of them. We were lucky enough to hold the Oscar the Barn Owl, Mozart the Eurasian Eagle Owl, Dink the Kestrel, Jess the Goshawk and finally Orla the Golden Eagle. The whole session was about 3 hours and was hugely informative and thoroughly enjoyable. We would both highly recommend the centre and this experience.

Loved the visit and would recommend to anyone in the area. The flight display was brilliant not only to watch but learnt alot about the birds as well. You can clearly see the great bond between the birds and handlers. After the flight show we got to chat with Kevin for a good while and learnt a lot about the birds as well as hunting with them. Definitely had a soft spot for Dink, hope I get to see him fly next time if I get the chance to visit again. Thanks for the good time and hope to visit again.

Happy birds in spotlessly clean enclosures and a great flying display to boot. Watching the NZ Falcon play hunt the duck is something we’ll remember!

When you combine family run element and the clear love and admiration the falconers have for their birds, its a recipe for success! The flying displays alone are worth the entry fee and the information and knowledge is incredible Full 5 🌟 from me and the family

This maybe a small centre but that is not a negative.. Quality over quantity. During my visit, I found the staff very friendly and willing to answer my questions. The birds are in excellent condition and well looked after. The education shed is a brilliant idea and I enjoyed looking around and learning bits and pieces. Not sure why anyone would rate any less than 4 or 5 stars to be honest. We visited twice in one weekend! 😁

Wow, what can I say. After reading a few reviews with 1 stars... I'm calling ignorance or shyness. We spent a lot of time with Keith on our visit. Admittedly, I was never keen on birds of prey being held in captivity and tied to poles and not being able to fly! Turns out I was completely uneducated! So the birds on poles for a start turns out there's really good reasons for this and everyone should ask and find out why it isn't cruel in any way shape or form. Ask how so many birds came to be at the centre in the first place and where they come from. All the enclosures were spotless on our visit and this isn't a happy coincidence... ask about the measures they go to to prepare food and how they monitor the food each bird eats... observe the relationship between the birds and keepers (and lack of concern birds show to visitors in comparison) and you'll realise all these guys have passion. Keith could tell us every birds common and scientific name along with their history and right down to each of their own individual personalities and animal welfare is at the heart of everything they do. IT'S NOT A POLITICAL MOVEMENT! If a car hits a child we want to see speed cameras, chicanes, ramps, etc. but man-made hazards are all around us and the birds suffer at the cost of humans... who helps? We will definetly be back! Can't wait to see the flying space you guys are working towards - GOOD LUCK 🤞. Thanks for the amazing attention to detail for all our questions and being so invitingly warm to each guest.

We visited the Bird of Prey Centre last week whilst on holiday in the area and we are so glad we did! You can tell the owners are passionate about what they do and they went above and beyond throughout our visit, taking the time to chat to us in depth about the birds. It really was a special visit. I would highly recommend stopping off here to support this amazing local business.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the centre today. I was given the bird experience as a present and loved every minute of it. As part of the experience I was alowed to hold various birds while I was given loads of information on each bird in turn. Then I was invited to get involved with flying the birds where they actually flew to my hand (glove supplied by the centre). All the staff were very knowledgeable and it was clear to see how much they cared for the birds in their care. I have thought about doing this before but never got round to it. If anyone else is the same I would suggest that you go for it, you will love it. Thanks again to everyone at the centre for a fantastic day.

Bought a Meet the Birds Experience and haven't been able to use it due to lockdown etc. Finally managed to get it booked for this morning and it was excellent. Knowledgeable and interesting staff who clearly loved ghe birds. They were also sympathetic to the fact that I had bought the experience for someone else and am in fact scared of birds! I was able as a spectator to get some smashing photos without ever feeling nervous. A fabulous experience and well worth it.

Lovely enjoyable visit. Shame I had to cut the American birds of prey flying display short to return to my coach. Loved the amount of information supplied in all areas and also the educational centre. The flying display was brilliant and a short safety chat was given at the start, for the safety of all concerned including the birds and the keepers.

They have 2 golden eagles which was very big and so majestic to watch. These guys offer bird experiences which is a plus. They also have a variety of other birds such as falcons, owls, vultures etc. Very nice place.

Fantastic bird of prey centre run by professional and friendly staff who clearly love and care for the birds. Great value as well, you can pay and return all day to see each all 3 of the flying displays. Parking is also free for Loch Lomond shores but advise to arrive early!

Small, but lovely bird of prey centre. Information about each species, as well as how that specific bird came to be with them. Free quiz sheet for children, and colouring in the education barn, which was also showing a video about peregrine falcons. When we visited, there were three flight shows (11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm), each showing different birds. You can exit and re-enter freely throughout the day. No food or toilets, but these are available a few minutes walk away in Loch Lomond Shores centre. Free car parking. Tickets cannot be booked in advance, but we had no problems getting in during the summer holidays.

We would just like to start our review of by saying a massive thank you to Stewart and his team... Not forgetting the amazing feather companions for making our day so special.... Our experience of meeting these magnificent birds was out of this world but we have to say meeting orla the golden Eagle was mind blowing.... What a beautiful golden lady she is.... This has been a childhood dream of mine to be able to get up close to these magnificent birds so while we celebrated my partners birthday in Scotland we booked for the experience and loved every minute of it..... Thank you to all of you for a perfect day that will stay with us for life.... We highly recommend that you visit this enchanting place.....

The best experience I have ever had at an animal center! It wasn’t very large, only took 30 mins to see all the birds, but there are plenty of birds and you can see all the birds are very healthy and cared for. We watched the flying show which was a good bit of fun, full of facts and jokes. We ended up chatting with the staff after the show for 20+ mins who are super enthusiastic and full of information. We found out they take every bird flying too which was great. They were super happy to answer any questions we had and were so passionate about what they do. If you are at all concerned about any of the birds, I recommend talking to the staff while you are there because they are so knowledgable and you will be reassured that the birds come first. All around great experience. Thank you! 🦅

Great place! They educate the audience well and I have a whole new appreciation of how important Vultures are to the ecosystem. Good standard of show too. Only way to improve this would be to fly a bird or two more. But thank you for a great morning!

Excellent place, not too expensive with a large amount of beautiful birds. We unfortunately were too late for the flying display at 13:30 but the walkaround was still great. The guy who owns the place is a very friendly chap who's passion for his birds shines through. The location is excellent being down near the local aquarium and shopping centre.

(Translated by Google) I've seen a real osprey in the Highlands before, but I've never been as close to these beautiful birds as in the Birds of Prey, and sometimes without a cage. Whether these birds are spooled up and reintroduced into nature I do not know, because I can not judge how often a bird is taken there I see the economic factor. The tour is very short and the cages are very small. It was worth the entrance but worth it, because food costs money!

An excellent conservation space with friendly and expert staff. Each bird has their own information plague and there is plenty to read and learn about in the education hut. We had only taken the day pass to wonder throughout the center, but they offer more engaging experiences too. Highly recommended.

Very small place, expected to seeing flying display, but maybe I should've researched it more. Not really value for money, maximum 1 hour visit. There was someone talking about climate change and discrediting certain theories and people, but not much talk about the birds, disappointing.
