Seen rats outside the front and back car park. And the sheets on bed were dirty. Overpriced for a Saturday night and Sunday night was half price. Oh, and after paying for your room, they charge for the Internet .

Lovely Travelodge tucked away behind the petrol station in Dumbarton. Would recommend the Indian restaurant which was the other side of the petrol station which was recommended by a very helpful lady behind the desk called Heather . The only drawback was getting out of the exit in the morning onto the dual carriageway in busy traffic, but that is nothing to do with the travelodge which was lovely.

This hotel had the dirtiest and smelliest rooms i have ever stayed in. It was the only hotel in the vicinity which allowed pets..at £29 it seemed a bargain...but then £20 for my kitten...which seems absolutely ridiculous in correlation to the price of the room. Honestly the room was the closest experience to a prison. On a brighter note the staff were extremely helpful and polite.

Good location with great nearby facilities - rooms are tired looking but clean, and the train line at the rear isn't too disturbing. Will definitely stay again given the choice.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Comfy, warm and good location.

The rooms are really comfy and warm. Had a lovely warm welcome from Rachel. Everything you need and in a perfect location for visiting Dumbarton Castle, Loch Lomond, and Helensburgh. Amd the added bonus.... we took our dogs! We will definitely be back.

Great location, accommodation can take pets too, which is good. Will use again.

We arrived for early morning coffee. Elaine couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. Welcomed us in, showed us where the customer coffee machine was, where to find the garden, and came back to offer us croissants. She was delightful and set us up for the day with her cheerful, helpful demeanour. Thank you, Elaine. Xxx

Hotel was clean and good value for money. Down side was railway at the back and dual carriageway at the back! Great Indian restaurant next door!

Inside, fine. But the car park is dangerous. Travelodge has put hug boulders which are unmarked, unlit and practically invisible - with no clearance for your car. Mine was badly damaged. This would be dangerous and sealed off on a public road so why allow it here? Needs urgent action like seal off part of the car park.

Staying for work so really only need a place to rest our heads. This is our 2nd stay this month. It's dated/worn compared to some travelodges. But it's clean, although does have a damp/musty smell to it No hairdryers in the room as standard and wasn't prepared for this as I always just expect hotels to have this. Only 1 plug socket (2 if you include the one the tvs in) Plenty tea/coffee facilities. Also Starbucks in the same carpark which is handy if you lime that sort of thing. Petrol station which shares the carpark has a small shop in it, its a bit pricey. I'm a light sleeper and the trains going past every few minutes are really bothering me- it seems its the main train line at the back of the hotel. The hotel staff are absolutely lovely, friendly and welcoming This hotel is basic and all we needed but definitely in need of an upgrade to be able to compete with other Travelodges in the nearby area (braehead etc) Despite its downsides, I'd still return

Lovely and clean, great staff and comfy room. The trains run next to the hotel, but you hardly notice them after a while. The carpark is a little small, but there's a Costa, Spar shop in the petrol station and a curry house just outside the hotel.

Clean room . A bit dated but very cheap so no complaint there. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rail line is a bit close with frequent trains. Would stay again .

It's a 1 start hotel not a place to stay for holiday so what can you expect. Stayed for 1 night and The room was clean, had essential facilities and was right next to a starbucks which is handy, it may have been small but its a place to stay for the night, not sit in all day. The location was great. Port of glasgow is beautiful and the area is too.

Tina was a superstar, an asset to any team. After a flood and burst pipe to my home she lifted the mood and helped me feel at home during my stay. Get that lady promoted!

Lovely big room that was clean enough with a decent en-suite. Unfortunately no cooking facilities in hotel so no hot breakfast. You can get a breakfast to go box and there is a decent Indian restaurant next door for dinner

Not too bad, only downside was that we had a back room and the railway runs past it. First time I've stayed there. Rooms are the same as any other travelodge, Staff polite , helpfull and welcoming. Starbucks directly outside for mornings and Red rooster pub opposite for later drinks and food.

Clean hotel. Carpet was a little worn in my room. The shower pipes seemed to have a water hammer issue. Might want to get that checked. Close to shops and the petrol station. Reception staff are friendly. Especially loved talking to the lady working the new year shift at night. I'd give it 4 stars for the price etc but the bathrooms did not have locks so I've taken another star off.

A great Travelodge to stay at if visiting Loch Lomond. Excellent reception staff made it a very enjoyable experience.

Awful, scruffy and dirty hotel. I've stayed in Travelodges before and they have always been nice. The room smelt awful, we had to leave the window open when we went out! carpet dirty, radiator rusty, dust on everything inc headboard! not great when you have asthma. Bathroom floor manky, mouldy sealant and tiles, only 2 sockets in the room. Was next to the door so people banging in and out all night. Workmen shouting and having a conversation at 6am! And the railway at the back which is every 20 minutes. This hotel needs a full refurbishment. We booked 2 nights and left after one and booked in at the Premier Inn down the road!!

It is a great location and handy for Glasgow. We took the train to the centre and that was really the best way. It is a nice walk to Bowling Station though for those taking a car, it is free parking at the station. The thing about all Travelodges is that the showers are good and here is no exception. In fact it is the showers that are one of the key reasons for choosing Travelodge. Great place and highly recommended.

Easy to find and park. Friendly reception. Clean spacious rooms.

Would just like to say John Paul is the most helpful receptionist I have ever come across. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is clean and basic. Just on the outskirts of Dumbarton.

Very friendly staff, big rooms and beautiful scenery. Only issue was the train tracks outside the bedroom window so quite noisy during the day but 2 double windows can be closed so very quiet at night.

Courteous and welcoming staff. Great location, good sized rooms let down by really bad low pressure shower and perhaps old decor. Whist the decor was old, the room and bathroom were clean enough for a good night sleep and to freshen up in the morning.
