This place is amazing! Upon entering the friendly ranger welcomed us and told us to enjoy "mini Yosemite." That made me laugh cause I didn't see any pine trees and I've been going to Yosemite since childhood. We meandered through the beautiful flowered pathway till I saw what he was talking about at the California Conifer entrance. Wow! Breathtaking is an understatement. This place is a magical mini forest! There are so many types of trees with info on each one. If it weren't so hot we would have stayed longer. And the smell was amazing! I love trees and you could just stand and smell all the smells. Just an amazing place. My daughter loved it too. We'll come back when it's cooler. I'd love to see the fall colors here. Oh, there's a donation box at the entrance so drop some $ if you can.

Lovely little preserve with plenty of hiking trails and beautiful flora & fauna. Nice place for a family picnic. Not much shade though unless your hiking the trail with the giant Sequoia trees, so Spring is probably the ideal time to visit this place. There's a also nice boardwalk leading out to a pond.

I highly recommend visiting Oak Glen Preserve, a beautiful 909-acre nature preserve in the western foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains. The preserve is home to a variety of natural features, including ponds, streams, wetlands, oak and pine forests, chaparral, and willow woodland. One of the highlights of the preserve is the Southern California Montane Botanic Garden, which features a variety of native plants and flowers. The garden is a great place to learn about the local flora and fauna, and it's also a beautiful place to simply relax and enjoy the scenery. Another popular attraction at the preserve is the Children's Outdoor Discovery Center. This interactive center offers a variety of educational activities for kids of all ages, including nature hikes, scavenger hunts, and arts and crafts projects. In addition to its natural beauty and educational opportunities, Oak Glen Preserve also offers a variety of recreational activities. There are several hiking trails to choose from, ranging in difficulty from easy to challenging. The preserve is also a popular spot for picnicking and birdwatching If you're looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the beauty of nature, I highly recommend visiting Oak Glen Preserve. It's a great place to visit with family, friends, or even by yourself. Make sure to bring some cash as there is no entry fee, but donations are welcomed!

It has different landscapes in different seasons. It’s in February. The trees were bare, but it is a good place to hike or spend a day with families!

    - Bring some snacks to munch on while sitting on the floating dock. There is a BBQ stand by the picnic/park area but I believe hikers/guests can find better food elsewhere (you’re not missing much if you skip it). - Go early if possible. Parking lot gets full pretty fast, especially after 11am. - best when temperatures are ~70-75 degrees F. - early to mid November for fall foliage - grab a map and it shows which part of the trails are steep

This was a fantastic time. There's so many beautiful plants, butterflies, flowers, trees, stream. It is free to enter. They do take donations so I recommend putting some cash in the drop slot. The staff was informative and friendly. Then stop for lunch or dinner across the way. Different types of bbq available and even a market with fruit, jams, baked goods, etc.

The preserve has some hiking for most levels. From gentle hiking to the small lake and back to more challenging up the side of the nearby hills, you can find an experience to meet your own goals. I suggest going when temps are 70s or less to be more comfortable. Be careful of stinging nettle near the trail too. Otherwise, it's agreat place to enjoy nature on the edge of civilization.

This was an awesome hiking experience! I'll bet it's even prettier when the gardens are in bloom. I especially enjoyed the "California Conifers" section. So thrilling to see Giant Sequoia, Redwoods, Cypress, Pines, and Firs all in one place! I appreciated the Interpretive signage. Very informative and educational. Not to mention awe inspiring!

Loved it! Nice easy walk/hike to go with kids or grandkids or with the dogs. Well maintained. There's a couple of trails, one easy and the other one a bit harder with a little steep downhill/uphill. Relax and enjoy the nature walk.

Our family absolutely loves the preserve. My 10 year old son has participated in the Jr. Ranger Program for the last 2 years. The naturalist and staff at the preserve are amazing!

Highly recommend for a day or even weekend trip! Lots to do, axe throwing, petting zoo, slides and more...but everything cost you some bucks and it adds up quick! Hoping to return for the Apple Butter Festival.

What a wonderful place to go for a hike, leisurely walk, picnic, or just to get some fresh air. It was quiet, peaceful, and I would love to back again.

For some reason when I try to review the restaurant it provides Oak Glen. Went to the Apple Butter Festival with the family for the first time. The BBQ place was the only eatery which meant you stood in line for an hour for a sandwich. Not worth the time spent in line but was good. Everything was over priced. Was expecting more crafty tents. The girls made candles which was entertaining to watch them walk a mile haha The time spent with the family was worth the whole day. Of course we'll do it again next year since we know what to expect.

👍👍 A little known, hidden gem in the middle of nowhere, this 2 hour tour is very much worth with the visit. Our tour guide, Will, is personable and humorous. The pathway to the cavern was just recently built or renovated within a year or so. This place was privately owned and hand-built by a couple who...
