This will be shocker to you all... But the Management is very creepy of Zostel Cochin. The weirdos watch the CCTV cameras all the time on female travellers. They have got few locals staying in the property all the time to entertain the female travellers specially. Property is surrounded by residential building so lot of restrictions. Management also abused the travellers in their native(Malayalam) language for noises. Almost impossible to get hot water in shower. No cafeteria in the property, neither any immediate option outside the property. The only worst Zostel property ever visited. Much better options available instead.

One of my first experience to stay in a Zostel in Kerala... It was pretty great. Naijeen was the one who looked after the property and he was the humblest caretaker I have ever seen. It literally felt like home. The place is pretty safe for women. Clean and serene. Quite spacious too. It has a rooftop area to chill out and you can do work from home away from home here. A strong wifi is also there. All tourist attractions can be found in close proximity. Inshort, you can choose this place to have a decent stay and to understand & meet people from different cities and different walks of life. Overall, great stay👍

Yes! just Yes. Being here made me fall in love with Fort Kochi all the more! the ambience and the hosts (Naijeen and Joe - you guys are the best!) and the utter warmth you feel being surrounded by like minded travellers who are just starting their journeys or been on the roads for months and years, is just the best trip one could ask for!!! Always gonna miss this place 🥺🤍✨ (if you decide to bunk here, don't miss out on the late night expeditions to the Chinese Fishing Nets and Midnight Avocado Shakes and Spooky stories hehe 😝)

One of the very old but the best zostel around. This place is made for solo travelers and well the host is really very friendly and always helpful. The place is located bit inside the main road and with some help one can locate it, but well the area around is quite happening. The common room is not so big but well this place is for making friends and travelling around with them. There's a small cafe here which is okay and well, the terrace floor is under renovation. Pretty sure once developed this will be a great one. The common lobby is just full of writings and design and once whenever you visit make to mark your writings to. The good thing is you will get privacy too as well as social time to. Also the location of this place is perfect. Very near to main road and you can get public transport to around the island. One suggestion , on the main road there's a local restaurant name as Queen Kitchen ,A must visit place for local food.

Excellent hospitality - exactly what you expect at Zostel! Had great fun with Nigeen, who were there to receive me as late as 1 AM and also suggested great food places even though my stay was officially over. I also left half the contents of my bag (electronics included) in their custody while I went for an appointment, knowing that everything would be safe. 10/10 recommend! (Also, for work-from-home-ers, great Wi-FI!)

My stay at this hostel was marked by incredibly friendly property managers who create a welcoming atmosphere. The hostel offers a variety of engaging activities and has adorable cats that love to cuddle. There are some untidy common areas that could use attention, but overall, it was a delightful and peaceful experience P.S., Do try the amazing kayaking activity they offer!

I came for a solo work trip to Zostel Kochi. Met some amazing people and had a great time. Everyday was exciting and didn’t feel like I’m meeting these people for the first time. The surrounding is very friendly and the service is also great. A must stay!

I don't want to make it so embellishing, I'll keep it concise. A universe where human connections happen organically, there's love and peace in the air. I'm grateful for the experience I had. Felt like home. Thank you.

Had the most amazing hostel experience, staffs are very friendly and helpful all through the stay. Rooms and toilets are clean, very cool common area, rooftop space to hangout, So Zostel kochi is all pros and no cons at all.

I had a fantastic experience at Kochi Zostel, and I want to give a shoutout to the hostel manager for the excellent hospitality. Despite my late arrival at 6:30 in the morning, right after my overnight bus journey and with a flight scheduled later in the evening, the manager quickly noticed my situation and arranged a dorm bed for me. I managed to get a good 4-hour sleep, which allowed me to function throughout the day and explore Kochi. The manager even helped me secure a bike for half a day. Although my stay was brief, it was truly an amazing experience. I will definitely visit again, ensuring I have ample time to enjoy everything.

Naijeen is the best host! Very helpful and recommends amazing places to eat. The bathrooms are super clean (something I was worried about), and the people are respectful and fun to hang out with. TIP: Carry mosquito repellent!

I had gone with my girl gang for a getaway weekend when we booked a stay at Zostel Kochi. It's located at a spot nearby to all historic and visitable places, so you can go about walking and exploring the entire town. There might be parking issues since the stay is located in an alleyway. The hosts are helpful and friendly and help you settle comfortably during the stay. There's even a kitchen on the rooftop where you can cook if you wish to. The rooms and bathrooms are kept clean and tidy.

The amenities are decent but they don't meet Zostel standards. All that is forgivable but not the toxic, locker-room culture they have there. This place is not recommended for female travelers. The management is EXTREMELY creepy and unprofessional. Some of their behavior with solo female travelers, especially foreigners, is borderline criminal. There are locals staying in the property who specifically prey on unsuspecting female travelers and later share their conquests and 'stories' amongst each other. Even if you stay at the property, avoid socializing with the management and their freeloading friends.

Zostel Kochi is a lively, vibrant budget Hostel. The rooms, bunkbeds & bathrooms are clean. It doesn’t have in-house Cafe, but that’s not much of issue. Closely located to Beach and many good & famous eating joints. The Top Notch factor is Naijeen who manages it. His hospitality, helpful and friendly nature are just Great. He can guide you or even take you along to short hikes, to nearby waterfalls, cultural events, Best local authentic eating joints even the late night 😎 eating joints… All in all Naijeen is the Live factor of Zostel Kochi. We had a comfortable, great & Amazing stay and time in Fort Kochi thanks to Zostel and Naijeen.

Stayed here for a day on our visit to fort kochi, this place is between some residential areas so parking might be bit tight. Place was well kept and rooms are clean, we left out wallet in the room and checked-out when we realised and called back the hosts were helpful enough to check out rooms the get the wallet, big thanks to hosts. Would recommend this place to people who want to explore fort kochi.

This rating is solely for the amazing staff at the site, the location is kinda isolated but the team was on task. Notably they resolved my issue of Geyser- that was due to excessive rains had nothing to do with the infrastructure - resolved in minutes. Must stay if u've a vehicle coz reaching here is a task at least was for us.

Really enjoyed my stay in Zostel. The guys from the stuff are very cool and helpful. Especially Naijeen helped me when I had trouble with my flight. They also did a tour by night for free to see the bioluminescence which was amazing!!!

I loved my stay at Zostel Kochi. Infact I extended my stay here. I was a solo female traveller and felt really safe. The manager and staff at Zostel Kochi are lovely and welcoming. There is a big sense of community. Rooms are clean as well. Highly recommend people to not look any further when looking for a hostel in Fort Kochi!

Never for non-Indians, incredibly bad. I booked my room a month in advance. On the morning of my arrival, they sent me a auto message of cancellation. After a long effort, I could reach them by phone, I asked the receptionist what happened, he just mumbled for a while and said we will call you in 5 mins, they didn’t. I called them again because I was already on my way to Kochi Fort and you know it is not always easy to find another hostel last minute. Then the receptionist told me that: “MY BOSS TOLD ME TO CANCEL ALL THE FOREIGNER TOURIST BOOKINGS AND I DID”. And they did not even provide me any reason for this unreasonable act. I was really in a difficult situation. And they call themselves a traveler hostel.

The best vacation experience possible. In Zostel Kochi, I had the nicest vacation ever. The hosts (JOE and NIEJI) excel at managing the community. They are really wonderful and helpful. They try to give you the best experience . They guide you where to eat and where to go, and they even take you to undiscovered locations. They are sorely missed by me. Will return to Zostel Kochi shortly. Lots of love to JOE & NIEJI .

Rooms are average.Felt rooms and entrance are congested. Excellent terrace for partying. No Hot water facility. If comparing with present hotels?its a big no. Headsup:bring your own towel, soaps, paste.Tjey wont serve all these like most of the hotels do.

I really enjoyed my stay in Zostel Kochi. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Preferable to stay for vacations and even for work sometimes. The place is quite and perfect for site seeing Fort Kochi, most of them are in walking distance

Good place for traveller to stay. Solo or in group. Dormitories are comfortable and well maintained. Location is also good. Only inconvenience is that you have to park the vehicle outside the zostel compound.

Zostel Kochi was one of my best stays. Friendly staffs and warm environment welcomes you like no other. Met with a great set of amazing people! Extended my trip for another day just because of the people there. Had a beautiful time and the vibe was great. Great for those working remotely. Highly recommend!

One of the nicest stays anyone can have in india. Best zostel ever. Managers and employees are nice, helpful, welcoming. Plus safe environment for people who don’t smoke and drink. Joe, Naijeen and Gokul are the best zostel hosts i ever met. If you are planning a trip to kochi, do stay in zostel fort kochi.

Amazing stay! Very comfortable and the staff were soooo friendly and helped me with everything. Made me feel right at home. Also connected me with kayakify kochi for the best kayaking trip ever. Easily the best zostel IMO.

Zostel kochi is my fav, mostly because of Naijeen. He is an amazing host and knows how to showcase his city. He understands the traveller and aims to give them a really good experience. Keeps it simple but ensure travellers have a good time. I have seen bioluminescent waters in kumbalangi and the falls and a few beaches in kochi! I have been back again for kochi Bienalle and I stay at zostel everytime. I find zostel travellers to be fun and a lot more open minded. If you are looking for a hotel experience, this isn’t a place for you, but if you want to have fun and meet young Indian travellers to get a feel of what they are like, you are in the right place!!

We stayed at the hostel for 2 nights. It is located in a small alley close to the center of Fort Kochi. We were able to check into our room at 12AM, which was convenient. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room itself was clean and pretty. It was on the ground floor right next to a chillout area. Even though quiet time is 10PM people were chatting loudly until after 12AM, which was annoying considering we had to get up at 5AM for our flight.

Nice place to stay near Fort Kochi. Comparing to other Zostels this one was a bit congested. But has the same "vibe" as all other Zostels. Staffs were very friendly.

Staff ate good.. But Its not in good location like ooty and Pondicherry. Not a worth money on private room for couple. They are depending on solar, no alternative for hot water

  • 3/5 Lotte ter H. 1 year ago on Google
Decent, but not the best. We arrived at 6 in the morning and were told there was 24h check-in, but we actually had to wait quite a bit before the receptionist woke up. The room was comfortable enough, but unfortunately full of mosquitos. Location is good, walking distance from the historical centre.

I had a great stay at Zostel. The hostel was easy to reach (ferry, bus, auto) and centrally located in Fort Kochi. It provided affordable accomodation and was equipped with the necessary basics, as well as a citchen and option for washing/hanging laundry. Staff was helpful at all times and there was an overall good vibe.

I’m not sure when I started, but I now go there practically every month just to hang around. The property is well-kept and has a nice communal place to relax in. The scribblings and artwork in the common areas are interesting. Yes, there is limited parking space and some restrictions because the property is located in a residential area, but the caretakers are very nice and will assist you. The caretakers are extremely engaging and will help guests blend in with the activities.. Late-night driving, local cuisine, beach walks, card games and even a little dancing… And may be more…😊

Best stay I could have asked for as a solo female traveler from the US. Naijeen went from being the guy who checked me in to being the best tour guy and a new friend. The location is ideal if you want to stay in Fort Kochi. It’s close to great restaurants and the water. Fort kochi is a city like you’ve never seen. Lots of love! Can’t wait for my return

The dorms are like cheap OYO rooms. Rooms were clean, but the rooftop hangout area and kitchen were in really bad condition. Everyone I talked to there were complaining regarding cleanliness. I heard good things about this place but it is not maintained properly anymore.

  • 5/5 Priya J. 1 year ago on Google
Welcoming hosts, clean rooms for the stay, many indoor activities to enjoy. We lost our key at the Kathakali place and realised it late at night when we were back. The host was kind enough to help us find it and was very calm through the entire incidence. If you are looking for budget stay or private room must visit.

One of the best places to stay at Fort Kochi. ❤️ Amazing vibes and even more amazing people to be around. Hosts Naijeen and Joe are ubercool and doing a great job with the guests. Definitely my go-to-place when visiting Fort Kochi!🥰

It was my first solo trip and I really lucked out by going to the Zostel Kochi. The bed was fine and comfortable. They also have AC and common bathroom for every dorm. That made me really happy. The location is on point. I got a chance to explore the nearby places. But most of all, I met some of the most amazing people and made friends for lifetime. Also, Renel and Naijeen are the best host you could possibly come across. BEST! They are max adorbs and super funny! Totally worth visiting!

I had stayed with my other three friends. Above average I would say. Owner is little carefree you can’t find him when you will reach to zostel. Location 9/10 Price 7.5/10 Cleanliness 8/10

  • 5/5 Zisanul R. 1 year ago on Google
The stuff are great. The manager was taken us all to watch bioluminescence which is almost 25 minutes drive from the hostel. I was planning not to go there as I had an early morning flight next day. But this guy come to me several times to take me. I was so pleased and I am not regretting to go there because it was once in a lifetime experience. Moreover, here I met a lot of amazing people whom I spent quality time. One flaw is the shortage of washroom. There is only one shared washroom. It is also in the centre of Fort kochi, only 7-10 minutes walking from a mind blowing beach.

Poor experience 1 night stay ₹1800 We had made the booking on Agoda and reached Zostel Kochi at around 1 pm and did not find anyone at the reception. The cleaning lady showed us the room and handed the keys. The room was small but clean. The windows have a view of the backyard/boundary so opening the windows is not much of an option. We did not get hot water in the morning either. Please note that the property is located in a tiny alley and may come across as unfavorable. It seems like the place receives guests only because of the Zostel brand and nothing else

  • 3/5 Roffijon 1 year ago on Google
Staying at a hostel like this one is great for all the socializing, and being centrally located, and while we had a good time, it was not what we expected. The place looks nothing like the photos and is far more run down and neglected. Everything, while functional doesn’t look like it’s being cleaned and maintained as it should. So good place, but don’t be fooled by the pics

  • 5/5 Richu S. 2 years ago on Google
Spend a week here with friends, and the experience was really good. Jo showed us to our room a mixed 4 bedroom and that was it. We get our space, the zostel amenities, and most importantly our privacy which Keralites usually lack. We were a group of four and we stuck to the house rules which were put up in the rooms and corridors. The rooms were neat, air conditioned, had an attached bathroom, cupboard and everything as mentioned. I’d suggest this is the best place to stay in Fort Kochi if you’re on a budget!

Pros:The host was very considerate and helpful. Very accommodating to our requests, overall a safe and friendly atmosphere. The amenities in the dorm are good for the price. The roof top and balcony offer enough space to chill out. Cons: limited parking space. Kindly introduce female dorms and step up hygiene and sanitation provisions.

I completely understand the concept of such a set up in terms of amenities, but what I pay for is expecting the minimum basics of a clean room and water. This place lacked both. The room was dusty and had hair lying around. Had to wait forever for some running water. The least they can provide is a bathroom with a proper bucket. Was a very uncomfortable stay

  • 4/5 Pratyush M. 11 months ago on Google
