Probably, everything that you can think of if you are the Traveller type. I got to meet some really great people, Easy-Go vibe types. Needless to say excellent customer service and value for money. Rooms were reasonably decently good ( can't expect 5-star facilities, apparently). Well connected to the major spots around Fort Cochin, affordable and friendly atmosphere. Would like to visit again, sometime soon.

ALERT! 🚨 This place is the worst, run away!! I can’t figure how they can get good reviews… What a mess… It’s so dirty, rooms and bathrooms. Staff is so lazy and useless, they’re just sitting here smoking, not doing their job and not helping you out. Location sucks, it’s in a loud dusty corner of Fort Kochi, not inside the small streets. They randomly took my stuff (without asking) to move it in another room, then they were repainting the place and everything was covered in paint… what a nightmare. It’s among my worst hostels ever, really. I even ran away before the end of my booking! Whatever they would reply to this comment, believe me, you’ll find way better nearby!

One of the best hostels in Fort Kochi. Stayed here for a week and absolutely loved the hostel. Clean rooms, comfy beds, relaxed roof space for spending some good time in the evenings. The best thing about the hostel was they treat all their guests like long lost friends. They ensured that I had a comfortable stay while I was there. Team Santa Maria - you are doing a Good Job! Santa Maria Hostel was a really disappointing experience. We booked our room through Agoda and the staff told us that we need to pay extra because the room we booked is not available right now, which is ridiculous… We got a room with only one towel for two, and once we asked for another one- they told us that they didn’t have any… The room was located right next to the public balcony for the guests and they were playing loud music and banging on our windows until 1 AM. No soap or toilet paper was provided as well. Breakfast we got was just 4 pieces of toast bread without anything else, just bread and tea. I would not recommend staying there as there are a lot of other places around that are way better than this thing…

Santa Maria... The best hostel I'll say. All the popular places are at walkable distance. Rooms are clean and the best thing is their locker is quite big compares to other hostels. They even serve the hot breakfast everyday. Manager is so friendly. The common area's vibe is so good. They have so many games to play. I actually dropped my mob in water and the manager and his friends helped me so much even took me to the local shop and bargained it for me. The best hostel I'll say.

The only good thing about staying here were the kind and helpful staff. The hostel is very run down; there is damp in the rooms and it is very dirty. There is a serious mosquito problem and there were cockroaches in room and bathroom! We were expecting the hostel to be amazing from the other reviews but they must have been in a different place to us! We ended our stay early because we were uncomfortable and badly bitten.

They don't use proper mattress for bunk beds. Just sponge 🧽 covered with Dirty bed sheet. Washroom was also not cleaned properly. I booked for 2 days but left the property next day even without asking for any refund. Not providing linen/Blanket. I asked for towel, they charged for it but it was bad smelling.

I stayed at Santa Maria Hostel on 31st Dec, 2021 in 6-bed mixed AC dormitory due to unavailability of dorms at any other hostel and below is my honest experience. Hope it helps someone. Although the hostel is located at prime location walking distance to Fort Cochi, it is very poorly managed. The person managing the place "Adarsh" is sweet but the hostel itself is a disaster. Issues with the hostel : * When you enter the premises, you will find the common area to be dirty, messy and smelly. * There is no set breakfast menu and timing. The breakfast that is served is bad tasting as well as served late around 11:30 am-12 pm . * I booked an AC dorm and the AC was not cooling at all even when set at 16*c. Also since there are no fans in the AC dorms, it has mosquito issues * There is a one attached bathroom which is make shift and very dirty and very smelly. Even the toilet flush is not working properly. I was not able to take a bath in this bathroom since it was in such bad condition. 31st Dec Situation at the hostel: * You will find a lot of localities staying in this hostel. Also, there is a common area in the rooftop where a lot of young teenage guys were staying. * On 31st night around 10:30 pm, the hostel was raided by around 20 police cops due to drinking/drugs issues posed by the localities staying at the hostel. The police checked each dorm as well as the luggage of few guests. This went along for 45mins - 1hr and then the cops left. Overall Experience: I would not recommend anyone to go to this hostel. It is not safe as well as it has worst quality facility. The only good about it is the location of the hostel but i still would not go for it ever. Note to manager(Adarsh): The property is at a good location but that is not enough. You need to work on the facilities as well as the localities situation, until then i think you should close the hostel.

Day to day. Dogs bark. No peace as they are keeping dogs inside And hygiene is not even close. Stay is unpleasant

Great place, awesome and very helpful people. I went on a solo travel and on off season and the staff and other members and even guests never made me feel alone. Nice common room and play area and a sweet doggu named Maria. She is such a sweetheart. I had a great time there.

One of the best hostel to spend time. All the staff are nice and well behaved personality. Location is equally important and this fits amazing in that criteria as well. The beach is at walkable distance of around 1 km and ferry station is just 100-200 m away. Place is full of fun if you are coming with your friends. Visit this hostel to get some of the good memories and vibes. Went to visit Beach with Kunal and Anuj and clicked some of their pictures. Highly recommended.

Very friendly people, they made sure my stay was safe and comfortable. It's also close to the boat jetty and the bus stand, so it's very accessible and easy to go to other places from here. Also, the beach is just a 5 minute walk from the hostel. Highly recommended if you are visiting Kochi for the Biennale.

I was traveling Solo primarily in Fort for the Biennale. The atmosphere in the hostel is friendly! Lot's of cool places to hangout even in the hostel namely the Café, Common room and roof top! The place has chill vibes that you can certainly enjoy if travelling Solo.

Santa Maria Hostel is an amazing place to stay. You will meet n no of people and have a great time here. The manager Nikhil is very helpful and is always trying to help people in any possible manner. Met amazing people here. If you are a solo traveler or traveling with friends do check this amazing hostel for the love and warmth they give to complete strangers.

I have stayed here twice. Once in 2023 and once in 2018. Little has changed. It has the best location if you are going there for the Biennale. Even if not. It's great. It's cheap. There is a cafe type situation which may be helpful. That sort of ends the positives. Negative: They only take payment in cash. The cleanliness could definitely use help. There is no hot water. They ask you to remove footwear outside but then the floor all over the building is dusty (I am not sure that can be helped, but the footwear thing is not thought through) and thus unpleasant to walk around. The bathrooms should also be a lot cleaner.

We Arrived there at midnight but the staffs are very welcoming. We really loved the ambience there! It's well maintained hostel with friendly staffs. It was our first time in kochi, we really liked the vibes and hoping to visit again!!

I recently had the pleasure of staying here, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of exceptional. The first thing that struck me was the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff members were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The manager Nikhil bro was very helpfull and kind. Additionally, the location of the hotel was ideal.

The place was initially okay .Not maintained well.Very dusty around.The guys who are running the stay are very sweet but the other guys who might have been staying since long or the help seemed to be creepy.The mixed dorm was very very poorly maintained.Especially the toilets. The visitors used to clean as it's essential.The hostel caretakers did not clean the toilet inspite of reminding them 2 days continuously.. Seriously very dirty.they used to even switch of the AC sometimes though we paid for an A/C dorm.

Stayed for one night but it was very memorable. Diljit was a great host. He showed me around fort kochi at night and suggested good food. The hostel is at a prime location, with clean rooms and welcoming staff (and free delicious breakfast).

Took a bed in the non ac shared dorm. The room was clean and well maintained. The hosts were very friendly and great to chat with. Hostel itself is centrally located, with many points of interest within walking distance.

Staying at this hostel is one of the most memorable things that I experienced in my one-month trip in India. I stayed here a total of 7 days, 4 of which in a private room, and then in dorm rooms for the rest of my stay. Now what can I say? The rooms are simple, but are always kept clean and functional. The staff is super friendly and helpful. It's managed by a group of friends who I guarantee will also be your friends during your own stay. Special shoutout to my boys Diljith and Arun. Also to Nikhil and Bimal who are manning the front desk. And to the bhaee, the cleaning guy and cook plus his wife and kid. Here are some highlights from my own stay: * Nikhil gave me awesome suggestions on what to do in Kochi. He took a lot of time making me understand how the ferries and water metro work and the routes I should take to experience a great view of the city * Bimal provided me with all I needed: power adapter, charger, and even his personal hotspot password when I had a work meeting and the internet briefly failed. * Diljith playing music every night in the common area and overall just being a standup guy and awesome friend. He introduced me to some Indian music and played the drums really well. Also a great drinking and smoking buddy. * Arun hanging out with me and telling many stories about his life and his experience working at the hostel. * There was one night when the boys grilled some fish and shared it with the guests then played music at the common area. What a good night that was. I was looking for a hostel, but I found more than that. Thanks guys. See you on the other side.

It's a place where really nice and also we get affordable price for staying. For solo traveler and group traveler. Really a good place. People who are there really friendly to everyone. Nice rooftop. Nice parking place. Nice dine area. Good view of morning, near bustop and also 24/7 available of food and also good transportation.

Good hostel but little🤏 bit improvement required

It's a very cute hostel, great price. We took a private room and it was basic but served all our needs. Shower pressure is good which often isn't the case at budget places. Nice that breakfast is included. Most of all the staff is great, even when we had to visit a hospital nearby at night Santosh walked us there so we didn't get lost. Plus they are just very welcoming and helpful with good suggestions etc. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a no frills stay option in Fort Kochi. Oh and great location!

Really nice hostel in a great area. Staff here were so warm, welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help us. We reached out to this hostel when another hotel let us down in the middle of the night - staff were really helpful and welcomed us with open arms. Good common area to chill in, both dorms and private rooms available. Good location for exploring Kochi, lots of shops and coffee shops around which was great. Can’t recommend enough! :)

This homestay is the only one home stay in the world, who charging fee for using common bath room facilities from taxi drivers. (Taxi drivers of there guest, who stay inside the vehicle)

It was my first ever solo trip and i checked out for places to stay before booking tickets to kochi and i came across Santa Maria hostel online and gave a chill vibe to stay and it was very affordable. fast forward, it was way more amazing than i expected. it was really a cool place to stay and the people who manage the place was very hospitable and i had one of my best time ever there at the hostel. they've opened a cafe and i had the opportunity to have some amazing food there. if anyone is looking for an affordable and cool place to stay and socialize with new people, this is definitely the place for you. thank you Jenny, Krishna and santhosh for being very hospitable. you guys are amazing❤️

This is one good backpacker hostel in Kochi. Recently when I visited here, liked the hosts and vibe of this place.

Even though it’s not very clean (full of insects), it would be a mistake if you don’t choose Santa Maria Hostel as your stay in Kochi! Incredible ambiance, the staff are the friendliest and humblest and the coolest ever.

I went to check the room... God ...they were so bad... At the reception, I could smell pee... I was surprised to find the ambience so gloomy and dark. This place is not clean at all. The rooms were very badly maintained.
