Poor service and dirty shower room. The beds are comfortable, the shower room is very much congested, you can barely move around if not lean. The storage box is under bed and not very clean. For charging there is only one usb port next to bed. No bed light, AC only from 6 to 6, space for working nowhere in the entire hotel. I've been here twice and the second time I went with my friend. We booked for a day checked in at 9:30pm, we were late for half an hour to checkout in the morning and they charged us 160rs per head for being half an hour late even though the dorms were empty and we were the only two left. Also we extended for another day for one person, but we decided to leave by evening and they did not allow us to freshen up in the evening before checking out saying the payment for next day was only made for one person. I would've gone there again and recommend this place if the service and shower area was better and cleaner. I took time and added this review because I was frustrated by their service. Rather than addressing issues and apologizing, the attitude of the care taker can be seen in all such honest reviews as well.

In dorms AC will only be turned on from 6pm to 6am if atleast 2 people are there in the dormitory. The fans are like the fans in train. Not the proper ceiling fan. Charging spot is usb. It doesn't support 3 pin or 2 pin adaptors. Can't charge laptop in dorm rooms. Washrooms, toilet are well cleaned. Note: This is a privately held business. Not the Cochin metro initiative.

Before you check out they ask you to go for a review ..And the worst thing is the check in and checkout duration its not 24 hoursits only 22 hours and they wii pay extra if you add a single minute on that. Every where the time is 24 hours.Even you keep luggage without using your bed you will be charged.The Owners and staff will screw you if you left your luggage and you have to pay more or equal to the daily rent.. So dont read only 5 star rating before book anything.. Review the lower rating too before you book this doormitory. In Cochin or anywhere...

first the good stuff The rooms are clean, Wi-Fi is good, bathrooms are maintained. Bed was clean The bad stuff The staff are rude as hell, keep staring at you when you go in and out to ensure your not "smuggling " in food. The staff behaves as if they are police on guard if you act in appropriately.... so One star from myside given that they are so many good hostels in Kochi for example Hostel By the Sea in fort Kochi. its even 20% cheaper and great customer service....please at the Metro Pod watch for Mallu receptionist who cant speak a word of English but will still communicate her rudeness through body language and facial gestures.

Stayed for one night here. A thoroughly new concept for solo budget travellers. The positives are cool ac sleep facility at night on a shoe string budget, no mosquito, clean toilets and bathroom, least noise from outside, Location wise it is connected with metro rail; bus stop in front of property. I could find no major downsides considering the value for money. individual lights, charging points and storage space are provided. Size of bathroom can be little more improved. And also the timing of AC can also be changed to 24 hours as the Kochi is humid during the afternoon. Overall best value for money for solo budget travellers in Kochi. I found Staffs are very friendly. Separate space available for both gents and ladies. Highly recommended....

Best stay I've had in Kochi. Couldn't have asked for anything more. When I reached the hostel, I was in a really bad state as I had sprained my ankle while travelling and was not able to walk properly. I got down the auto at the front gate and the manager sees me literally crawling - he rushes to get me in, at this time I'm on the verge to break down. He took my responsibility like I'm his really old friend and got a special treatment. Visited hospital with me, helped me communicate with hospital staff and everything! Got me my food delivered at my door, got me a better room so that I don't need to climb the staircase with broken foot. Checked with me frequently to see if I need anything. It all was beyond the expectations - Mani bro is a sweet guy. He always has a smile on his face.. I was so overwhelmed with the treatment and I didn't know how to compensate for that but it's the generosity that these guys have shown me which was next level! If you want to be your stay peaceful and want to meet good hosts - this is where you should definitely come. The location is kinda prime - near to the south station and that's a plus!

Was never expecting this kind of stay option available in middle of city. This was a very very good stay option and really liked the vibe and price of the place. The host was very nice and helpful. The dorms are very clean, maintained and well designed. The whole hostel is very well designed. Everything was fine but the behaviour of the staff Mani was too cheap and disgusting that's the reason for 1 star. Checkin and checkout times are too worst. Please don't prefer this room. There was a mistake, that was your hotel's respective manager named Mani who gave us trouble while leaving.

6 room dorms, only one charging port that too with only USB cable. In case you want to charge your laptop or have any other phone apart from USB charging you will have to go to the common area for charging (only 2-3 ports in the common area). Dorm is okayish I had an argument with one of the fellows just because I turned on my reading light for my book. Common washrooms are there

I would really recommend this place for stay. It was very clean and quiet in middle of the city. Also the price for the dormitory is very reasonable. Since there are many beds available, it will be really helpful for sudden planning for the stay. Only one issue i faced was the manager told the AC will be turned off if only one person stays in the dorm. So i would recommend that since we are paying for the AC room, please find a way to fill all the beds in one dorm. Maybe by combining all the other girls in one dorm. But anyway I will recommend this stay to my peers for sure.😊

This is exactly as it's described. Clean, simple and affordable accommodation for travelers. The location is well suited for getting around easily and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Check-in was relatively quick and they run on a 24-hour system which is convenient for travelers. Overall great value for money and better than many hotels which cost twice as much. A small note about the dorm-style arrangement though is that fellow guests may be checking in at odd hours which can disrupt your sleep but it comes with the terrain.

It was indeed a very pleasant experience staying at Metropod. The dorm is well maintained, it had all the amenities like individual charging points and lights. The common areas were really clean, the bathrooms too. What was really remarkable was how great the staff and management behaved. They make sure that we have a really good time and they were always a call away. The place felt really safe and I recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable and comfortable stay in Kochi.

I couldn't stay at this place because i already made my booking through OYO Rooms then i saw this place in the evening when i was roaming around. So i just went to see the property, it was clean and well maintained. There are around 132 beds in total . I would recommend people not to book this place through online platform because the prices they show are higher. This property is located on the MG Road and the nearest metro station is Maharaj's college . Even Ernakulam junction railway station is nearby . People can even make a monthly reservation if they want to that to at a cheaper rate . This place is for boys & girls both and it is fully air-conditioned .

This is the best place to stay for solo travelers at a budget price with all decent amenities. The dometries are air conditioned, well cleaned and hygiene interiors. Excellent place. Located next to the metro station. Neat, Clean and Affordable. It's exactly what you would expect from a backpacking place. In the non A/C room, there's one rotating fan for 4 bunker beds, but they have 6pm to 6am A/C policy. Kochi is humid, so you may want to take up the ac rooms if you plan to stay there during the day. Got to meet the owner Mr. Verghese. Wonderful gentlemen who helped me around with the places to see, eat and explore. Wonderful option for ppl who visit kochi for a day or two to attend exams and interviews.

Great location and hospitality. Best backpacker hostel in Ernakulam. Being near to ernakulam south railway station it is easy to reach, only walkable distance from railway station. Metro station hardly 500mtr hence provide easy accessibility to other locations of the city. Best for students for few days stay for exs and for business purposes. Marine drive and major shopping malls are walkable distance. Only drawback are availability of proper fan since only one rotating fan for 8beds hard to get wind. Also bathroom are super clean but lacks space no provision to wash clothes. I stayed for 2days on Nov 4&5 2020. Booked through booking.com for 350/- per night but was only charged 300 at counter.

I had a very pleasant stay here last night. The Bed was very comfortable and each one is separated by a wooden curtain for privacy, i totally appreciate it. I've been to hostels in other states. Comparing to those, this is ok. Enough bed and washrooms are there. It's neat and comparatively cheaper. Located very near to Maharajas college ground. Easily accessible. South and north railway station are nearby. Metro station is also very near.

PROS: The hostel is located in a good location, accessible my metro. The staff were polite and well mannered. The hostel has a very authentic look to it. CONS : There is NO bedside charging point in the dorm. There is 1 in-built usb port which isn't ideal for any fast charging. Hot water facility isn't available. AC is switched on between 6pm and 6am only. I hope the hostel upgrades the quality of their pillows and blankets in the future.

The people that helped me were quite kind and attractive. Without a doubt, I'll return here. I highly appreciate the receptionist's friendly smile for the really late check-in.The people are very nice who are super friendly and always ready to look after their guests. The hostel is conveniently located in the heart of the city, close to many restaurants, shops, and tourist attractions. The hostel is immaculately clean, and it seems like everything is washed twice a day. The beds are quite cosy. Fantastic stay.♥️

It was pretty good. Room, bed , bathroom everything was clean. The interior was really beautiful with a traditional south indian touch. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The location of the stay (beside metro station)also makes it very accessible. But there are something I think they should work on- 1) All beds should have curtains. 2) They should provide the remote of ac at the dorms.

I found metropod to be very cozy, the traditional aesthetic style was really admirable. They have got super friendly staff and they were constantly making sure if i was okay. Should highlight their cleanliness of toilet and bathrooms. And price were really affordable too. I will definitely stay there when i come back.

If you are history/architecture buff or want to explore new experiences, this place is for you. I regret I didn't book my stay at such place which has mix of ethnic yet modern facilities. I was surprised to see that something like this exists. If you're travelling or multitasking- working and also want to explore the city, just blindly book this place. Affordable rates, can't get much cleaner dorm kinda places to stay than this (ask me, I have seen worst, this place is the most clean you'll ever find), although you might feel bathrooms are smaller but they are good.

A++ ac dormitory room. I really want to give 11 out of 10. Excellent service, well behaved staff and the owner is so friendly. They charge 476 for the upper bed and 502 for the lower bed till 15/02/23. For recent rate updates you can contact on given no. Have lockers, charger points for separate beds. Ac run 6 pm to 6 am and check out time is 10 AM

It's a best place to stay for a traveler..The place was clean,hygiene and good service. It's geography is also good where I can able to visit most of the place in walk able distance. It was so good and worthy stay for three days

Decent hostel, good location. There's no wifi, extremely limited workspace, No soap dispensers at wash or toilets. These are basic facilities available at hostels nowadays as I regularly visit hostels for stay. Also additional hourly rate exceeds rs 160 which was just ridiculous and it's not even mentioned before checking in.

Honestly, this place has been a reminder if my Nani house. It's beautiful and the owner and the caretaker have been very kind and humble. It's a beautiful stay, super safe for solo travellers with clean amenities and super budget friendly stay for a heritage property and very accessible. This place is instagram worthy. Rooms and bathrooms are well maintained. Service is too good. Worth visiting for the stay and had a peaceful sleep.

I stayed with my family in a room.The location is superb,right in the middle of the city. Staff is courteous and polite.. for late check in we got a discount. He even helped us with nearby eateries and was quite fluent in hindi. Rooms were very clean. Only issue i felt was the space,because we were 3 guests and the room hardly had any space for an additional bed. If you are visiting with family, you should consider other options. For solo travellers its a big thumbs up.

Pretty good for one night stay. Highlights : This at a very convenient location. (Metro station is 100 m away) Rooms are clean and spacious. Bathrooms are common but clean. They have luggage locker room facility for 30 rupees. Edit: Well that's what I meant. You have a locker facility for 30 rupees even if you check out. This is very convenient if you want to check out in the morning but still got some stuff to do in the city and catch a flight/bus/train by evening. The free locker is available while you stay in the room.

Excellent stay...neat and clean..u can stay like in a hotel..all staff are very friendly.....4staff very helpful..u will get facility like hotel... easy to access to all area...their service is 5 star...

Metropod is very good accommodation for solo travelers and families...I didn't feel any disturbance there..Very neat and clean...Thank you Metro pod.

Stayed here in the double occupancy room, i had booked on a short notice and i really loved the place. I have only seen one room and cannot comment on the quality of their dorms but other reviewers seemed satisfied. The room size is small and i found it comfortable and cute. It overlooked the road and there were two doors-one to the room and other to the road. The rooms were squeaky clean. I emphasise it - they were squeaky clean. The staff were also nice and comfortable to interact with. One suggestion would be to provide an additional bedsheet along with the blankets

I stopped by at this hostel to just keep my backpack safely before taking my bus to another city. They were so nice and polite. Very welcoming personel! When I returned back, same hospitality I found. It made me feel home. Thank you for being so nice!

Booked a dorm for the night directly for a price close to ₹500. Other than not having a plug point for the dorm beds(a USB point available for mobile charging) everything from purified water to toilet and shower facilities are good enough. Also I guess there is a small common space with plug points if you need to work on the Laptop. And no outside food is allowed although I saw on some sites mentioned that swiggy and Zomato orders are available to choose from.
