Amazing place, super friendly staff and amazing food! Everything is clean and comfy, beds are great, showers are hot and the location couldn't be better! I had an amazing stay with them and I recommend it to everyone. Probably the best hostel in Kerala!

Super chill spot very friendly and helpful staff most of the time. Would get a higher rate if only it had some communal kitchen of sorts, simple things like a water kettle for a late cup of tea or a cutting board with some plates and cutlery for your morning Papaya would be a good addition. All in all I do Recommended!

Very convenient location and well organized hostel with comfy common areas. The small things here (filtered water, plug-ins, lockers, good showers...) make hostel life comfortable and the community activities create a nice atmosphere. If I were really picky, I'd suggest including more vegan options on the cafe menu and installing mosquito nets for the beds.

The food here is just amazing. We were in food coma and we still wanted to eat. We ordered pancakes with caramelized bananas, mushroom cheese omelette and a coffee. Food was really too good. Must visit if you are in kochi.

Happy Camper is a nice hostel. The attached cafe serves good food at a reasonable price and the beds are comfortable. It is not as social as other hostels I have been to and there can be quite a few mosquitoes in the common area.

A lot of thought has gone into this hostel. Water, plug ins, lockers, seating areas etc. The best reason to stay here is the owner! We arrived in Kochi stressed out about trains and plans. He was our hero and helped us by going above and beyond. Also his girlfriend and staff are so so lovely! Thanks for everything!

Very nice place. The staff is lovely and helpful! The location is good as well (close to good places to eat and close to the bus station). The room and bathroom were clean. And there is a rooftop, which is nice! I would recommend this place! :)

It's a shame they don't provide food, because everything else was beautiful. The standards of the rooms and basic amenities were beyond the price we had to pay. The ambience is top notch, one of the best among in-house camping setups.

Best hostel in Fort Kochi! Super clean beds and bathrooms (so important!), lounge area on the terrace and a restaurant on premises (only open from morning till 4 PM though, but the breakfast is top! Lots of options and prepared well!). Close enough to attractions. Terrace is good for a yoga session in the mornings too.

Very clean rooms, the bathrooms are well maintained. The owner is super chill. One night they were having a feast and offered me beer and beef cooked by one of the owners (who is a chef!!). The breakfast is also amazing. Really one of the best hostel I’ve stayed in.

When reading this review, bear in mind that I stayed here back in January/February 2019, so this hostel may have addressed the constructive criticism I outline in this review. So, why 4/5 stars? Positives: The staff. They were professional and approachable, making me feel welcome. Girish, the manager, is a very interesting guy with whom you can have wide ranging and in-depth conversations; from philosophy, to science, the history of India, to yoga, karma, dharma and much more. He's also very knowledgeable not only of Kochi, but of India as a whole. He provided valuable insight and really helped me plan the rest of my travels. Girish also took myself and some fellow travellers to a nearby dessert bar that he recommended which was cool. The Chef at this hostel makes great tasting food. Good level of cleanliness at this hostel. Wi-Fi connection is good and there is a power point for each bed. There are lockers in the dorms (you need your own padlock though). Constructive Criticism: Rooftop terrace is nice but is plagued with mosquitoes, hopefully the owners can/will install countermeasures against them. I had a great time at this hostel and if I had to point out something that could be worked on it would be what I mentioned above. Deducting a star for this may seem harsh but as the old saying goes, in life, there's always room for improvement ;) So there you have it, my review of the Happy Camper Hostel, hopefully both fellow travellers and the hosts find it useful. All in all a great job by the Happy Camper Hostel team. Thank you for your hospitality, your hostel was certainly one of the highlights of my time in India.

Our stay at Happy Camper, and in Kochi in general, was amazing. The hostel was very comfortable and nicer than any other hostel we've been to in India thus far. Girish (manager) is caring, helpful, and passionate. The cold filtered water is a nice bonus, and the connected cafe is delicious!
