So happy to find this 💯 gluten-free restaurant! The owner was so kind to also navigate around my latex fruit allergies and made a special dish for me. Just wonderful people, the server was so kind, and the owner went the extra mile. Definitely eat here even with meat, vegetarian, and vegan options.

Café/restaurant with great atmosphere just at the corner of an intersection. There is great outdoor seating with shade and string lights. There is also ample indoor seating. There are baked goods but they also have a menu of serviced restaurant food as well as a fridge of alcohol. Very easily walkable from R house or Remington row parking garage. Overall great vibe and service

The food is pretty good, especially if you have dietary restrictions, but I'm stunned by how small the portions are for the price. This takeout container was 60% rice, the food was fine but not life changing, and this dish somehow cost over $17 (before fees). It's not my first time eating from them and the portions have dramatically changed. Not worth the price.

I came here for Mothers Day after reading all the great reviews and I was not disappointed! As others have said, the cupcakes are FABULOUS. The icing is very rich but not so sugary sweet. I got the carrot cake and birthday vanilla cupcake (not vegan, which was fine by me lol) & my Mom got a dairy free strawberry shortcake [all are pictured below]. She didn’t care too much for the icing but I liked it. The cupcake itself was so moist and flavorful I mean wow!! I can see why people get their desserts. We also got a takeout order of their vegan general Tso’s tofu with white rice and that was really good. It came out fairly quickly and even when there was a mistake at the register they were very quick to remedy it. Customer service was good, seems like a really nice place to dine in at and I would return and buy more cupcakes ! Lol. I did take off one star because no one was wearing gloves, not even when they grabbed my cupcakes. They had hand sanitizer at the front and the restaurant looked clean but I would prefer food service workers to wear gloves when handling food for the health and safety of everyone, personally.

Wow. Everything is gluten free, a lot is dairy free and delicious. It's a cute little place with with a homey environment. We walked in through the little yellow side door and were greated by a cute little bar. We decided to take a few steps up into the restaurant. The restaurant was warm and inviting. Violent Fems was playing on the speakers and we found a table next to an outlet so we could do our homework. I had already ate earlier so I ordered fries and a whiskey drink. Yum! The fries are dipped in a chickpea flour batter and fried. They were amazing. They have this cute little bakery with gluten free and dairy free treats. We ordered treats "to go" along with soup. The treats and soup were amazing for a late night snack. My friend thought the music was too loud and couldn't study very well otherwise I would have sat there all night! I wanted to try so much on the menu. It has all my favorites, chicken wings to fried tofu and a great Indian menu with gluten free naan! I will be back for sure! They have a thanksgiving menu to go that is gluten free and dairy free, and comes with everything including a pie! I'm not much into alcohol other than whiskey but they seem to have a great drink list with unique beers and wine too.

I’m pretty sure I got food poisoning from the cupcakes the last time I was here 😬 and the portions and quality of the food don’t quite match up to the prices. That being said, it is a place to get 100% gluten free food and a good variety of it. I would only recommend it if you have to eat gluten free and miss having Indian food ❤️

First time and the cashier was extremely helpful! I didn't gave enough cash with me and they worked with me to get an entree anyways. I think the atmosphere is very welcoming and I love the variety of food options. It's rare to see an all gluten free spot with a good mix of vegan and nonvegan options. My only regret was not asking if the entree already came with rice!!! Plan on making my own. The chicken curry is excellent.

I have loved this place for years and years, have been a loyal customer for over a decade. Have raved and suggested to everyone, make a point to bring out of town guests over to eat there. Not only because it is safe for me to eat there as someone with Celiac given its dedicated kitchen and knowledgable owners, but because historically speaking the food is amazing. But as of tonight's order (Dec 2022) I am more then thoroughly disappointed in Sweet 27. Many of my orders with them over the last year have been lackluster and skimpy but I was cutting them slack given the pandemic. But tonight's order has cemented my new opinion. There has been a big change to their menu options that just started. They've reduced the serving size on their entrées significantly, plus they've now stopped including sides and only serve it with plain white rice. I get that inflation is a beast but this is frankly BS. There is no way I received $17 worth of food. Not even accounting for the fact that restaurant prepared food is priced at a premium. What I got was a 3/4 of a container of plain white rice and a tiny bit of chicken. In fact I would have happily looked at a price increase for the same quantity and *quality* of a meal I've been enjoying for years without batting an eye. But this change is just insulting. Unfortunately, this will be my last time ordering with Sweet 27 unless they fix this nonsense. It's the last disappointment I'm willing to spend money on with them. Photo shows the new entree changes next to the old sized container (which has 3 chicken tacos in it). Prior to this change entrées came in the larger container with 2 included sides.

They're back! As of Nov 11, Sweet 27's bar is back open. The restaurant part has been open for a while. The bar is leaning more into the neighborhood hangout vibe it earned before the pandemic, and they're adding a bar food menu that has smaller portions and an emphasis on sharable items. There's still the full restaurant menu

I've been patronizing Sweet 27 for over a decade. I used to live across the street and visited several times a week. Now I live in a different part of town so I'm not able to stop by as often as I would like to. I recently got the fried tofu manchurian style and the fries with chickpea batter and it was excellent. Honestly I would recommend anything on their menu. Edit 02/18/23: had dinner at the bar. The bartender as very friendly and attentive. I tried the Bombay tofu and to say it went perfectly with the mashed potatoes is an understatement.

I got a vegan chocolate raspberry dessert. It was rich, creamy, with a hint or raspberry. It was mildly sweet, which I loved. There were less vegan options than expected, but there were gluten free and regular desserts..and then a strange array of Indian food, actually more food than baked goods. 🤔 I also wasn't a fan of the packaging. I'm not sure what theme of the restaurant is...anyway, my dessert was good.

Great fusion menu allowed us to have Indian food for the first time in an age while our picky little eaters munched happily on pizza. The full menu is gluten free and they do it well. Despite feeling full everyone made room for a cupcake which were with the trip all on their own. I recommend the German Chocolate and the Birthday Cake.

First time here and we were pleasantly surprised. Nice ambience and great food. The sauces were fabulous from the cilantro garlic with tofu, Pesto pizza, Garlic Tomato Shrimp to the Saag Shrimp, all very tasty and fresh. We will return! Only complaint was the strong smell from what they use to clean the tables or floors which was overwhelming when we walked in.

This place has always been good, but it's done nothing but improve over time. They recently also have put more into the look and atmosphere of the place. The food is fantastic. 100% gluten-free. Indian Fusion entrees with a full gluten-free bakery.

There’s a bar! The bar has a great vibe, even has a bar menu. My spouse is gluten free and loves everything on the menu. The staff is great and makes me feel at home.

What an awesome hideaway! Did not know this restaurant existed. Sweet treats galore. Fine wines and nice little nooks and bar seating, all in plain view. Fine wines galore. I love that they have gluten free products too and definitely will be back, bringing along my sister-in-law to sample these delectable items. Yummy yummy.

We were thrilled to find this dedicated Gluten Free restaurant with so many different options on the menu. All three of us could order some of our favorite foods — pizza, tacos and so much more! Great staff and environment. And then we took some of their awesome cupcakes home with us. The carrot cake cupcake was so good that I would definitely go back just to get more of them.

Great dairy free and gluten free bakery options. Particularly delicious was lemon and hostess cupcakes. Efficient and quick service that was NOT warm or friendly. The inside is quite dark. FYI there is a full service restaurant attached to the bakery. Smelled great but I didn’t even look at the menu or consider dining in given the greeting I got when ordering bakery items.

A free extra cupcake! This team never disappoints. Reasonably priced and always a beautiful treat. Beats the competition.

Lamb Vindaloo and the Mole wings made a perfect meal. The lamb was so tender and spices perfect!
