I recently visited Zen Rooftop in Darwin and had a mixed experience. Let me start with the positives. The atmosphere at Zen Rooftop is truly delightful. The rooftop setting offers stunning views of the cityscape, and the overall ambiance is serene and relaxing. It's a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a drink while taking in the beautiful surroundings. Speaking of drinks, Zen Rooftop offers an impressive selection. The bar menu features a variety of creative cocktails, wine, and other beverages to suit different tastes. I particularly enjoyed their signature cocktails, which were expertly crafted and full of flavor. The drinks definitely added to the overall enjoyment of the experience. Now, onto the disappointing aspect. During the afternoon, Zen Rooftop provides all-you-can-eat snacks, which is a great concept. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment when one of the staff/owner who's a bit old approached our table and informed us that we needed to purchase a drink in order to consume the food, and we actually did purchase drinks, so for him to assume that we did not purchase any drinks was very rude. While I understand that establishments have their own policies and need to ensure customers are making purchases, it would have been helpful if this information was communicated clearly upfront. It felt a bit misleading to have a "complimentary" snack offering only to be told that a drink purchase was mandatory to partake in it. This situation could have been easily avoided by providing clear information beforehand or offering alternative options for those who may not wish to purchase a drink. Overall, despite the disappointing encounter with the staff's approach regarding the drink purchase, Zen Rooftop Darwin does offer a fantastic atmosphere and a great selection of drinks. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing rooftop experience with beautiful views. Just be aware of the drink policy when it comes to the all-you-can-eat snacks to avoid any unexpected surprises.

For the last 2 years we've celebrated our anniversary at this special location that seems to be secret to most. Such hospitality you'll seldom find in the world. It's like being in a family home as an honoured guest. Love you guys. ❤❤❤

Zen Darwin was a great place to relax and catch up with friends. The cocktails and free nibbles on the rooftop are a must do. Watch the sunset and just to look at the beautiful view of the harbour. Staff couldn’t help enough. We will be back

Absolutely spectacular views. A visit should be included on every Darwin stay. The cocktails are goo and the complimentary snacks appreciated. The staff were all lovely. Warm, friendly and attentive.

Amazing rooftop bar! Good cocktails and views. They also have finger food for free, pool tables and massage chairs. We were so happily surprised🥰 100% recommended

Great place. Amazing views of Darwin. Friendly staff, and very surprised to find very tasty nibbles for free when you buy a drink. Not just the usual chips and dips, but chicken wings, pasta, all sorts at various times. Lovely place to catch up with friends or just go for a couple of drinks. Definitely recommend a visit here.

The rooftop bar has a great atmosphere,with fantastic views overlooking the city and harbour. You need to purchase a drink to be able to have the 'free snacks' .While some of the food was nice,it was not pleasant trying to eat dry,stale garlic bread.Not everyone can eat spicy/chilli/hot food or drinks alcohol either.No coffee/tea options. I got the impression that the food is leftovers. Staying for 7 days,seeing the same unappetising food provided day after day was a disappointment when having a relaxing drink at the end of the day.

Fantastic venue- really beautiful views over Darwin. They also provide complimentary snacks if you have bought a drink. The snacks were amazing- they had chicken wings and drumsticks, rice and curry, crackers and dips, lollies, fruit. We had a couple of drinks, the spritzers were really refreshing. They also had live music on a Friday night, my only feedback is that you had to go and watch this in a lounge area away from the bar,and the view. I would suggest that in the quiet wet season, that the musician sets up near the main bar so you can still enjoy the view, drinks, and snacks.

Great bar which is reasonably priced. The complimentary buffet with some nibbles and light snacks was a nice touch. Nice views of the sunset.

Rooftop Lounge is kids friendly and has great views, free massage chairs and free finger food from 4pm! What a place. Unfortunately it lacks in ambience and modern decor....there is so much potential to improve!

This is amazing spot to watch the sunset. Drinks are expensive but you expect that and they have free nibbles

Fantastic hotel, with great views and a relaxed Darwin energy. The staff are always polite and happy. Shout out to Lilly from the cafe who is always happy and energetic, it’s a great way to start your day and the coffee and breakfast is very nice. The roof top bar with free canapés is also awesome as well, it’s positioned perfectly to watch a storm come in off the coast with a few cold drinks. Again, bar staff always happy, polite and friendly. Fabian.

Fantastic example of Darwin accommodation. The rooftop bar has 360 degree views, the service is excellent and tge drinks are moderately priced.

Top place to go and see 360 degree views of the Darwin city area and beyond. Great bar. Light finger food is available. Very friendly and cooperative staff. Highly recommend for a stunning view from 16 stories up.

Worth heading up to 16th floor. Great views Cocktails drinks. Nibbles if you want. Staff friendly and great way to see sunset. Highly recommended.

Zen Ramada is a great hotel, and its reviews are covered separately. However this review request from Google is about the hotel's Rooftop Lounge. I've no idea if non-guests are allowed to be here, because in essence, along with a full service cocktail bar (love love love the Margaritas) there's free food. This free food consists of canapés and salads and dips and little hot dogs and a second hot dish .... and all free. Certainly NOT like other bar's free chips or nuts. The food is a real delight. So are the staff. Oh, the view? Fabulous. You get an almost 300 degree view of Darwin and watching storms and other spectacles adds to the wonder of the wrap around large balcony, with its chairs and tables. And great cocktails 😄 Really capped off a wonderful experience living there for several weeks

5 star 360 degree views over Darwin amongst potted palms. Great spot to watch the sun go down. Drinks on the exxy side and no happy hours. Complimentary snacks at a mini and often times eclectic buffet, serve yourself, but good enough to satisfy hunger pangs or absorb alcohol. Two lifts but only one goes to rooftop and the other stops one floor short of the top which means 1 flight of stairs to climb in the fire stairwell.
