This is a great hotel. It was just refurbished early 2023, so most of the negative reviews in the past reflect a pre refurbishment experience. The hotel looks dated on the outside, but once you go inside, it feels brand new and refreshed. The room and bathroom is modern and comfortable. The beds are Hilton comfy. I was in the Doubletree next door, and I can tell you this is the one to go to. Doubletree needs a refresh inside. Service is actually very good. A big shout out to Neomi who has a beautiful personality, and not forgetting her other helpful colleagues at the reception too. They made it easy. This is a 4 star hotel. Don't expect 5 star in room mini bar and coffee machines etc. For that, you go to the Hilton proper and pay 50% more. It is a fantastic hotel for its level of quality. The only suggestion I have is that the hotel considers catering for guests who travel on the 1am or 2am flights - both coming in and going out. Darwin is peculiar in that many flights land and take off between 11pm and 3am. The traditional check out and check in times of 12 noon and 3pm do not work. Guests are forced to decide to pay the whole night, or check out at 12 noon and be uncomfortable for the next 12 hours. It's a terrible way to end the stay and leaves a bad taste. Why not allow guests to pay a reasonable hourly rate until 12 midnight, and allow guests to check in at 2 or 3am and pay the hourly rate until 12 noon the next day? You'd get the same amount of revenue, but your guest satisfaction will go through the roof - just thinking outside of the box for you.

Amazing Hotel! Very happy with my stay. Great spot, loads of on-site complimentary parking right out the front. Well styled modern room, office desk was excellent, huge TV (with loads of free movies), great private bathroom and shower. Loved the late checkout. Highly recommend.

Great service at the restaurant/pool and in the room. We were the only people in the pool yesterday and wanted to have some lunch. The hostess from their restaurant, Together & Co, was very accommodating and brought everything out for us. Rooms are also nicely updated.

High quality hotel with comfortable rooms and good breakfast. Wonderful location directly opposite the large park which has views over the harbour/ocean plus sunset.

Great friendly team of people working hard. Awesome views and spacious rooms. Pool is beautiful, if overrun with unsupervised kids. Bar staff, service VERY slow.

Stayed for 7 nights mid July 2023. Room was nice , beds comfortable and bathroom looked new. Balcony was very convenient to let fresh air in.Buffet breakfast was amazing!Staff were friendly and welcoming but sadly that’s where it ended for us. House keeping was inconsistent , we left later on for the day on the Sunday and room wasn’t serviced , had to go down to reception to collect toilet paper , coffee and milk. We used shower caps and they were never replaced. Reception was very apologetic. Bar service was slow. Restaurant waitress who took our dinner order had no idea about kids chicken parmy meal and if it came with chips . She checked and said yes it comes with chips, when the mean arrived there was no chips?Food menu looked nice and priced reasonably for a hotel but tasted ordinary . Pool was freezing and shaded . Staff had no local knowledge at all ! We asked for a Taxi on the early morning of our departure to go to the airport, well… after 10 minutes of waiting outside receptionist advised us taxi company never confirmed or accepted our booking! Luckily another reception guy was there that suggestedbUber as apparently taxis don’t really operate at 6 am unless u book the night before . Who knew? We definitely didn’t .This hotel thought visually pleasing has a fail on so many levels ! Other than smiling and being welcoming staff at this hotel have no clue about anything! Lastly i have observed older guests eg . Retirees receiving much better customer service than us with a child .Will not be returning.

Great location and wonderful views. What we really want to emphasise is the fabulous customer service by all the staff members we encountered. They were very flexible, thoughtful and helpful and helped make our stay memorable.

When you enter the Hilton building the air freshener or deodorizer is too strong and literally burns and irritates your sinus and throat. The rooms are very ordinary with out dated prints on the walls and uninteresting drab furniture. The fridge is inside a low TV cabinet with doors and the cups, glasses and coffee etc are on the awkward bottom shelf. The lights are all out or all on from a switch on one side of the bed or on entering the room which is inconvenient. The paint is the same dull colour throughout the entire building and it is like a frightening maize to find your way to and from your elevator and room In comparison to the top rate quality service received in Cairns Hilton, The Hilton Garden Inn Darwin needs to take a chapter from their professional staff, and pool, spa area layout. The Darwin Hilton Garden Inn staff service desk staff seemed uninterested in their guests with chatting among themselves and were barely helpful at times because of communication difficulty. The swimming pool is very unappealing and shady being in the same area as the restaurant and bar. Hotel guests eat breakfast and dinner with an open view to you swimming or sun bathing. There is no spa. The restaurant again had poor communication serving dishes of food not ordered. The restaurant had a few people dining and was still of slow service. The bar staff were unorganised and delivered the wrong drinks ordered as well. You can order room service but you have to go down and collect the food yourself. Definitely not worth what you pay.

My partner and I travel a lot for work and always look to stay here. Newly renovated rooms means you dont get that moldy smell you do almost everywhere else and its across the road from the park so perfect for morning walks.

Don't eat here. Worst meal ever.. Butter chicken soup..5 small pieces of chicken in a very watery soup. Arrogance of male staff member when I asked if it was Butter Chicken soup. A tour party from NZ of 30 people....many felt the same. Nepalese woman who worked at bar was lovely.

Attractively decorated, quiet, comfortable bed, great sea view, balcony, small bathroom. Good breakfast, drinks served in bar in the evenings. Easy walk along Esplanade to main town centre.

terrible place. bed wasn't made properly, there was no top sheet. pillows were hard as a rock. pillow cases were way to big for the pillows .asked for softer ones they sent up dirty smelly pillows with dirty pillow cases. there was dust everywhere. very out dated except for the bathroom. the food was appalling. ordered room service it came in paper boxes with paper knife & fork. food was burnt. the so called garlic bread was a roll cut in 3 pieces & 2 containers, 1 with melted butter in it. that you had to put on garlic bread yourself. I've never ever seen anything like this in my life. the hilton gardens is disgusting appalling place. go stay elsewhere.

Hilton Garden Inn proved ideal for my training course! The room comfortably accommodated 12 people, had excellent cooling and lighting, plus a fantastic projector for presentations. The free WiFi was a huge bonus. The highlight? The delicious Mexican cuisine during lunch breaks was a hit! Despite its tranquility, the hotel also boasts a refreshing swimming pool conveniently located by the restaurant, adding to the overall experience. Highly recommended for both business and leisure stays!
