Great view of Darwin harbour — and some food outlets for lunch & dinner. We enjoyed fish & chips barramundi & Snapper with calamari. Cold beer wines ciders. It was okay. Open-air dinning area with shade umbrellas as well as undercover seating. Amenities we’re clean, the Hop on Hop off bus stops here. There’s a few attractions here too. Can get very hot — hat sunglasses a must!

Stokes Hill Wharf is a popular tourist spot in Darwin, Australia. It's located on the Darwin waterfront and offers beautiful views of the harbor and the surrounding area. Stokes Hill Wharf has a rich history and is known for its vibrant atmosphere, delicious seafood, and various recreational activities. Here are a few things you might have experienced or seen during your visit to Stokes Hill Wharf: Dining: The wharf is home to several restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy fresh seafood, including prawns, fish and chips, oysters, and more. It's a great place to indulge in the local cuisine while enjoying the waterfront views. Sunset Cruises: Stokes Hill Wharf is a popular departure point for sunset cruises around Darwin Harbor. These cruises offer a scenic experience with breathtaking views of the sunset, Darwin skyline, and maybe even some dolphins or other marine life. Wharf Precinct: The wharf precinct itself offers a range of entertainment options, including bars, live music venues, and boutique shops. You can explore the area, listen to live music, grab a drink, and soak in the lively atmosphere. WWII History: Stokes Hill Wharf has historical significance as it played a vital role during World War II. You might have come across the WWII Oil Storage Tunnels, which were used to store fuel during the war. The tunnels have been transformed into an exhibition space, providing insights into Darwin's wartime history. What a fantastic place. Definitely spoilt by choice of food. We opted for fish and chips with a beer to wash it down. Love that you can sit right on the edge of the wharf and watch the boats go by. Just watch out for the seagulls, they like to poo a lot as hubby found out when 1 flew over and pooped on his arm.

A cool spot for a bite to eat. We were there for dinner. Mainly seafood to choose from, but also Asian and things like burgers, chips, etc. We were there to see the tug boats return from guiding a ship out of the harbour. It's a pretty good spot for a sunset shot with parts of Darwin city in the shot. Parking can be a problem when it's busy, but there's overflow parking next to the Convention Centre. For the duration of the dry season, the ferris wheel is operating. Next to it, there's a bar and Cafe which I assume is for customers going on the ride.

Enjoyed spending some relaxing time before and after a fishing charter. Lots of food places to select from and a takeaway bar. Sitting on the waterfront looking out over the bay is very "chill". There are also activities and a secure eating area for those with smaller kids.

Great place to walk around and experience the culture and some great places to eat. There is also the RFDS to check out, a wonderful way to learn about the Darwin bombings of WW11.

Its 33°C here today at the beginning of Winter. The Port Darwin and Waterfront walking paths are exceptional with open paths and access to drinking water and many historical information sights that really are very well presented. Stokes Hill has an historically significant history from the time of surveying and settlement and of course during WW2 and Cyclone Tracy. But before that for thousands of years organised clans of Indiginous people of The Saltwater lived here and that is what I enjoy the most. Looking out over the ocean here is good to have a map to get a real insight into the neighbouring islands and countries abroad.

Nice stroll along the waterfront. Heaps of eateries and bars. You can even fish of the wharf. And for a time you can go up in the ferris wheel to great a birds eye view of the area. There's also information on the air raid by Japan on Darwin.

Beautiful location. Not much of a variety of food a few places but all sell same and over priced. Definitely is a beautiful place to sit and if in dry season have a ride on the wheel.

Beautiful Wharf with a fantastic view of the city and the harbour, great restaurants and cafes dot all along the Wharf... The Ferris wheel gets you five rounds... Good enough to give you a bird's eye view of the skyline .... Or skyline view of birds... Whatever floats your boat...

Not easy to find a carpark before sunset at weekend. Or take Free shuttle bus from Waterfront Precinct. Farris Wheel with light on after sunset. Some people go fishing at the wharf. On board for Cruise with buffet is here. Little kid's playground. Dine in Restaurant or Food court with great seaview. The staff of food court clean the tables fast. Nice place for sunset

tourist spot and hang out with a beautiful sea view. The best spot to see the sunset. Here you can also fish on the edge of the pier. There is a Ferris wheel, perfect for enjoying the view of Darwin from above. For seafood fans, there is a restaurant that serves a variety of seafood. In addition, there are many cafes in the vicinity.
