Terrible check-in experience. Check in took 45 minutes! The man at the front desk was flustered and rude. There should definitely be a second person at peak check in/out times so people don’t have to wait so long! I waited for 4 people to checkin in front of me, which was fine. The person in front of me had an issue with his card and the man at the front desk was kind and patient to him. When I went to check in, there was an issue with my booking (that my workplace had booked). While I was trying to figure out what the issue was, the receptionist rudely told me to step aside while he served other people. So I had to sit there while he continued to book other people in and not get helped. It was actually stressful for me, as I am here for a work event and had just driven 600km from a remote community. There was no kindness or sympathy. He eventually served me again and solved the issue in a couple of minutes, so I’m not sure why I had to step aside. I was given a disabled room that smells like someone has peed on the carpet. I’m incredibly disappointed, as I really enjoyed my stay here previously. I will not be staying here again and will not recommend it to others.

This was a nice tropical island right in the middle of the city. Close to everything walk to waterfront or into town. Next door to night life and great social pubs. The staff are lovely very friendly and helpful. We got a tropical villa pool side room 212. A studio which even though it was dated it was very comfortable with a deck overlooking the pool. This can get a little noisy but closes at 10pm. The pool is the social hub and we met some lovely guests while having cocktails. There is a little manned bar on the pool deck on certain nights which is great. The bed in our room was comfortable and linen was crisp. It had everything we needed. Our air conditioner broke down but there was someone there first thing in the morning to apologise and fix it. Ceiling fans did the job for one night. A great casual place to stay in the heart of town . good value accommodation.

Location is great, bungalow rooms appear to be refurbished, but no bigger than a hotel room(considering the price)..but the walls are paper thin..of the 6 nights we stayed we were kept up with the bungalow adjacent to ours from them talking at all hours, opening and closing doors and sliding the chairs outside..possibly book the rooms and stay away from the bungalows.

Only downside (and I am struggling to find one) is hanging space for towels etc. It is a hot climate so you use the pool so there are extra towels, bathers etc. Could be easily solved by having a fold up clothing rack in the wardrobe. Apart from that everything is great. Pickles, the bird who is a part of reception, was a lovely surprise. Will definitely stay here again.

During my four-night stay at Palms City, I had a bad experience. Although I had low expectations from hotels in Darwin, I was disappointed with the essential services provided by the hotel. My main concerns were as follows: Firstly, the hotel did not inform me about any changes in room conditions or renovation issues upon my arrival. Although I was willing to be flexible and adapt to any conditions, my room was not ready when I arrived due to ongoing renovations. The hotel then offered me a smaller bathroom, which I did not request. We were offered a refund of $220 and a free breakfast during our stay. However, the breakfast closed on Monday morning without any notice. The staff said the chef needed a day off, which is understandable, but we should have been informed about it. As customers, we have the right to choose the hotel, room, and services for ourselves, and the hotel should inform us of any changes and notices. We are requesting that they do so, and we are not alone in this request. Secondly, the bathroom had poor drainage, and after taking a shower, the water would stay for at least 30 minutes to an hour, making it impossible to take another shower. Additionally, there was a bad smell coming from the toilet, indicating that it was not being cleaned or was overflowing. The hotel should not have taken guests if there were facility issues like this. The small room size and bathroom issues were frustrating, and I would have preferred more space, which I had booked previously. However, we were not given the chance to choose a room when we arrived. On the last day of our stay, during breakfast on Tuesday, I noticed that the vanilla slice was "off", which I found mould. I spoke to the chef and requested a replacement. Unfortunately, I had complaints about my experience from the very first day until the last day of my stay in this hotel. As a result, I don't think I'll be returning to this hotel. However, I feel it's important to share my experiences with others and the hotel management. I will share my feedback as much as I can. You can do better than this, so please take some action.

I have stayed here twice. First in the self contained Villa. Recently up in the main building. Both stays were fantastic! This motel runs like a well oiled machine. Bedding is spotless and rooms are well maintained. Staff are sensational. Location is fabulous too! Pool is well maintained as well. I highly recommend.

Such a lovely tropical holiday vibe to this resort with the overgrown gardens on the pathways. Small secure carpark, but lots of street parking. Waterfront location and walking distance to the precinct and Mitchell St. We loved the standard room, but it would be a nice treat to return to a villa. Bonus laundry, easy to use.

Very average considering the price. Better off with something like the Novotel just down the road. Rooms are clean but nowhere near as nice a setting as the pictures make out. Second level rooms look onto the roof of the bungalows. Very noisy when people come and go the noise of people talking, walking up stairs reverberates around and into rooms. One night they even had the laundry being collected when we were trying to sleep - with the laundry directly below us and the car park directly behind us this was an excessively noisy experience. More a motel feel to it. Better options for the price. Good location and decent breakfast (at additional cost).

A really nice stay. Usually every were else I've stayed my partner and I could write a little list of just not rights but the only thing I had was the shower head was to low, yes a common problem. We had a budget room for only one night and it has made me think next time I really would like to try an upper end room. Great staff also, nothing to hard. And leave with a very good and affordable breakfast to start your day.

Great place for kids the rooms are neat and tidy and serviced every day. The only down is the carpark out back only holds a small amount of cars and if there are many guests, you'll have park outside. Include breakfast with your booking it's well worth it.

Absolutely loved our week long stay at Palms City Resort. The bungalow we stayed in was perfect for a couple's stay. Being right in the heart of Darwin CBD everything was within walking distance. The pool was awesome! Not too cold as a lot of Darwin pool are not heated, heaps of seating and shade area and an awesome poolside cocktail bar

Great location, clean & serviced everyday. We had a very very small expensive bungalow near the pool so no privacy & very noisy. Our fridge was stuffed but replaced the next day.close enough to everything tho & well kept grounds.

Stayed in the Spa Villa - it was fantastic spa temp 24 - 32 degrees. Villa was comfortable, clean and spacious located in tropical gardens. Staff very friendly at 2am checkin, 7am breakfast and throughout. Great cocktails by the pool. All up excellent resort close to Mitchell street and Smith street mall and the waterfront precinct

If you don't like highrise and bland cement buildings this is the best place. Our 2nd time here ,from the friendly helpful staff clean rooms it is like being in a rainforest. You would never know you were in the CBD and it is so close to restaurants shops transport. The pool is always clean and well maintained. We wouldn't stay anywhere else we love ❤ it here. Recommend to families, couples and the senior travellers.

We loved out stay in one of the bungalows at Palms City Resort. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the room was spotlessly clean, if a little on the small size, the verandah had a bbq and table and chairs if you chose to eat in. The location was also fantastic to access many of the wonderful sights of Darwin. We were sorry to leave

Really nice play to stay in Darwin, close to the city center, Esplanade walk and the Waterfront. Cosy bedrooms, wonderful breakfast and really useful private park if you have a card. Definitely suggested!

Some rooms aren't as good as others, make sure you ask for an outdoor coffee table room or perhaps an upstairs room if you're not booking a bungalow. They'll be 4.5 stars when they get their internet working.

Great value well designed central accommodation with kitchenette. I love that we're in a ground floor unit with a little outdoor patio. The pool even has a serviced bar. Very clean and private with daily room service. There is nothing not to like at this price.

Cannot recommend enough for a great stay in Darwin. Nice and quiet although close to Mitchell st. We stayed in the Sunset Villa. So close to the esplanade! Wow! Loved the kitchenette and bbq facilities. The resort style pool and communal kitchen is wonderful. Lovely tropical garden grounds. We are locals and recommend to those wanting a stay cation or visiting from afar. Very friendly staff and checkin process too. Would be great to have an iron in the room but other than that perfect!

I stayed here while in Darwin, the staff are great, the room was clean and spacious. I used the pool which was warm and clean, never too busy and everyone was great. The bed was comfortable and room service was impeccable. I'll stay here again next time I'm in the NT!

Our 3 night stay was lovely and laidback. The breakfast dining area was a cute tropical setup and the breakfast buffet seemed simple, yet upon further inspection, it was perfect for us. Either fresh fruits with cereal, pastries such as croissants or B&E with hashbrowns. Loved the range of Tea and Coffee complimented with cakes. The pool area was a nice tropical vibe with beautiful gardens through out the resort, almost an oasis feel and right in the heart of city. Service from all the staff were amazing, polite which made my daughters 16th birthday weekend so pleasant. Couldn't find a fault.

This quiet, leafy oasis in the heart of Darwin City, offered attentive and caring service, with a smile, despite my after-midnight arrival. The room was comfortable and I'd like to have had the chance to stay longer and enjoy the pool and other amenities.

Fantastic location, beautiful pool, comfortable rooms (had tropical villa) but small. Tiny cramped bathroom with no climate control but rest of room comfortable enough. TV was tiny so hardly worth watching and no where to sit. Bed fairly comfortable. All this reflected in price though. Overall comfortable enough. Pool was absolutely beautiful. I would go back for the price.

My stay of 6 days was terrific. Bed was very comfortable. My room was spotless and girls were very pleasant when asked for a fresh towel etc. Reception were always pleasant and helpful, even the security guy at 5 am when I was picked up for a tour went out of his way to help me. Breakfast was good, just need to have soy milk available without having to ask for it. Great spot to stay!

Great location! Absolutely amazing staff, Holly and her team went above and beyond to make our stay stress free. We hosted a wedding reception in the conference room/cafe and Holly was nothing but amazing before, during and after our event. Would definitely stay again, also loved the buffet breaky. 🙌

Disappointed. Very overpriced. Loud, breakfast not included, cramped. For the price I expected more, but this is a hotel, not a resort as claimed. There was a wedding reception directly behind my room the night before I checked out for an early flight. Was so noisy I left for a few hours and didn't get much sleep. No views in the "superior" room (except a wall), no atmosphere and the only communal areas were a small "cafe" and the pool. Breakfast is $18.50, and the $150 bond was NOT communicated prior to booking, the refund of which takes up to 5 days after checkout! When booking a resort you don't expect rooms cramped together with small pathways, you should expect extra ammenities, a destination in it's own right that's worth staying during the day beyond accommodation, and Palms City 'Resort' didn't meet that mark. Rooms were clean, staff friendly, otherwise very average. (Fake name for review).

Staff are great, as accommodating as possible. Could be nice but needs staff and maintenance. Dead phone, which took 3 days to fix. Dead battery in smoke alarm, fixed the next day. Wifi never worked properly

Right on the waterfront, among all the tall apartments, this place is Definitely some where you can truly relax. Room is nice and tidy. Great services and 24 hours reception.

Location was a + but that was it. The rooms had cobwebs and soap scum and mould in bathroom. The plunge pool/spa is shallow and a spa, this is cold and can't be heated. It is covered and shaded and cold. The pool guys don't announce themselves and just walk in, not ideal. The kitchen is tiny and cramped, nowhere to food prep. I would have thought with a kitchen you'd get a full size or bigger fridge bit I was wrong. The cleaning staff that are supposed to service the room, only pull the top sheet up and tuck it over. The bottom sheet didn't even go over the bottom of the mattress. But the sheets were still hanging on the floor after the cleaning staff had been. I needed to request toilet paper and towels as they came but didn't replace or top up. The rooms could do with a table and chairs inside. The street sweeper comes past every 2 days at 5 am. Very noisy bungalow being so close to the street.

Stayed for a week in the Palms Villa room 205. The room was dated but clean, they use quite a lot of chlorine in the spa, we only used it for three days. Went to the office and advised there was no internet in our room, was told it was the weekend and the office manager would be advised on Monday. Went to the office Monday, saw the manager who knew nothing. She advised it would be fixed ASAP. This went on every day until we left. we were given a complementary breakfast to compensate for the internet we used on our phones. The coffee and the fresh fruit was great. The bacon, eggs, sausages we all cold and non eatable. The whole experiences was extremally stressful and disappointing.

I love staying here when in Darwin. Excellent location, plenty of parking, great pool, clean rooms (the queen plus single beds work well for us) and the service at the front desk is always friendly and helpful. I've not eaten here but Deck Bar and Hotel Darwin are good options just around the corner.

This is the ideal place to stay in Darwin for a couple. Garden bungalows give you a sense of being in the tropics, and location on the Esplanade is the best and staff are just so helpful.

Absolutely appalling the fact we paid all this money for a nice night out for New Year’s eve and our anniversary only to be told that apparently we hadn’t paid ? then paid the $150 security deposit. We get handed our room key then when we arrive to our room other peoples belongings were on our verandah we go back to reception only to be told we were double booked and the only room they had was the standard room and oh they can chuck in a bottle of wine for the price we paid for the villa. Absolutely appalling customer service and organisational skills
