When I tell you that this stop was the highlight of my day trip to Miami!! I am so glad that I stumbled upon it while searching for things to do in the city. I called the Monkey Jungle on Wednesday morning 01/5/2022 during our drive from Palm Beach to Miami. I was advised that we could sign up for the 2:30 pm tour and that we needed to arrive by 2:15pm to complete paper work and pay the fee. We arrived around 1:30pm. We were greeted by Steve (The director). He was very personable and chatted with us about the business. He also asked a staff to escort us to the restroom that was located on the property. He suggested that we go grab a bite to eat and return around 2:15pm. Upon our return we were the only patrons. We paid the entry fee that totals $160.50 with taxes and signed a waiver form. Another group of 2 arrived shortly after. The tour commenced about 10 minutes after the noted start time of 2:30pm. Our guide was Will and he was AWESOME!! He was knowledgeable, personable and just had a great energy!! Most importantly he had a great sense of humor. He is the kind of person you wished was your friend!! Will advised us that his goal was for us to have a great time and his only ask from us was to be safe and to keep the animals safe. To keep the monkeys safe we had to ensure that we wear our mask properly for the duration of our time at the Monkey Jungle. Will provided great information about the various types of monkeys on site as well as history on how the company was started. Following the informational session of the tour we were provided an opportunity to feed the monkeys. This first encounter was us placing food (dried fruit) in a dish and watching the monkeys use a chain to pull the food to themselves. This activity shows the intellect of the monkeys. It was interesting to see how the monkeys that have a higher rank skipped over the raisins! Will said they basically think raisins are for the lower ranking monkeys!! The main event is going into the rainforest. This is where the squirrel monkeys reside and where we interact with them face to face. Will showed us the best way to get the monkeys to come to us. His visual example was on point. Once we were given a tray and food was placed on it the monkeys were ready to eat!!! We had so much fun feeding the monkeys and taking some cute pictures and videos. This experience is pricey, however, I think it is well worth the cost for special occasions. It is clear that the employees love what they do. The great customer service and entertainment of the monkeys makes it all worthwhile!! My only wish is that it lasts a little longer!!

I love 🐒 and want to feed them and interact with them; they jump on, you eat the food of the tray you are given. It was so fun and thrilling. There is so much to this park monkey jungle that I and my gf really felt we didn't get the money worth it. ( $$150 per person) We did but didn't. I would have liked to take my time with the experience look at all the different species there and trees; they were beautiful. They have a chocolate tree. We had a great time , nothing like having monkeys jumping on you off a tree. Carlos is a great tour guide .

Small, but unique experience! We did the $20 per person option that gives you general entry. Our toddler really enjoyed feeding the monkeys and watching them race around overhead. The turtles and macaws were also pretty neat. The whole area is nice to walk around in, looks really authentic and jungle-y. We spent an hour here, which was very worth the price!

Worth every penny! Yes, it's $150 a person. You have to understand that money goes to more than just the tour. It costs a lot to keep up this sanctuary. They take care of the animals others have bought as pets not thinking about the long term commitment! I don't understand why people would complain on these reviews about the price if they are willing to pay it. No one twisted your arm. Yes, we hate the masks too, but they have to "play the game" and wear the masks to stay open. Ok, enough with my two cents. First we got introduced to, and educated about the Macaque monkeys (you don't interact with those by the way). Then, we got to see the other creatures, tortises, birds, iguana, etc, and finally, we got to feed and interact with the squirrel monkeys! It was and unforgettable experience. Our guide was awesome. You can tell he loves what he does! Thank you, we had the best time here!

Super fun experience. Somewhat expensive, not for everyone. This is an essentially an old school research facility and sanctuary for an original group of primates and monkeys that carries on the original founders legacy. Personalized tours only. The day that I went was with my wife and only two other visitors so it was an extremely personalized visit. Had essentially a feeding frenzy monkey visit with over 100 little monkeys at one point. Super fun and unique!

We did the private tour with Will and let me tell you.....this is an experience you wouldn't want to miss! Will was so friendly and informative, and the whole tour was an amazing, unforgettable encounter. The monkeys are not tame, but do not hesitate to jump right on you for their treat. The habitat is an amazing rainforest environment that really feels like you are in the wild. Beautiful place❤️ something you have to experience at least once

Great place, super friendly staff, you get to feed the little monkeys. Bringing the whole family back later this year. Will plan a visit back as well once they reopen the whole park.

Very friendly staff! A great place to see monkeys in an open environment. We humans are now "caged" as we walk through their environments to see them happily at play and enjoying themselves. Amazing to see how smart and attentive they are. You can place food in cups dangling by a chain, and the monkeys will pull it up to get their treat! Amazing! King the Gorilla is a great sight. Love how he communicates with his handlers, and how his food is delivered to him. A great way to spend your day!

We loved every minute of our time at Monkey Jungle. Yes, it’s expensive, but we were celebrating a special occasion and it felt worth every penny for the educational and intimate, up close experience with the monkeys. The natural habitat is just beautiful and the guides were friendly and knowledgeable. A+++ experience.

What’s this nonsense about it not being open to the public and that they’re only offering private tours for $150 per person?! They also have a mandated face mask sign posted on their window and their staff members were wearing masks, including staff members outside. Such a weird experience.

Just an amazing and unique experience and the staff is super kind and genuine in their love for the monkeys there. For 20 mins you get to walk through a natural rainforest as spider monkeys climb on you and eat from your hand.

I had such a great time here that my girlfriend and I went twice. Our tour (both times) were from Will. He knew everything about the monkeys here and was very kind. The $150 for the tour is worth every penny. You’re not only paying to see monkeys and hangout with them, you’re paying to experience feeding them, feeding iguanas, tortoises, and learning A LOT. You have to go here!!! Have to!!! And I hope you get Will-he’s awesome! Also….you’re paying $150 to help keep this place up because of COVID…again, worth every penny

What an amazing experience!! Will our guide did an absolutely amazing job explaining everything. Great experience for the whole family. We were able to see more then the monkeys but of course they stole the show! We saw exotic birds, reptiles, tortoises and fish. Definitely an investment activity $$$ for a family of 6, however truly a once in a lifetime experience. So I would say it's DEFINITELY WORTH IT!!!

Very personal, friendly and educational experience. The price seemed high but after understanding why it had been raised and making the unforgettable memories we got more than our money’s worth!! It’s a one of a kind time in the Miami area. Great for every age including our 15 month old son! Just be advised try to wear sleeves and clothing (including shoes!) that can get a bit dirty. We were happy for the off & on rain showers to cool us off but it def made for a muddy time. It did all rinse and wash off easily with no stains. Wonderful experience we highly recommend!! Thank you to the staff for such a private and amazing time!!!

I am overwhelmed and almost in tears even leaving this review of the kindness that the staff showed it to me and my family. My son has autism and began the tour with being a bit disruptive I almost thought we might get kicked out. Carlos was very attentive to my son and calm him down, and pay special attention to him. He was very knowledgeable and very very funny tell the stories about the monkeys and was knowledgeable about the monkeys. By the end of our tour my son was completely calm and in love with feeding the monkeys and letting them play with him I really appreciate all of the stuff but especially Carlos for the extra consideration and kindness that he saw my son

So disappointing that they rip people off. They have two package options: one for $20 where it’s self guided and you can go at your own pace or $150 where you get a full guided tour and can pet the monkeys. We did the $20 option because the next guided tour wasn’t until two hours later. Well don’t waste your money on the self guided tour because literally 70% of the park is “closed for maintenance” which was conveniently NOT MENTIONED TO US when we bought the tickets!!! We legit only saw a few monkeys and everything else was roped off or chained shut. So annoying to drive all the way down here just for that. DISHONEST! Do BETTER!

You really need to visit this place for the kids to enjoy. Kids of all ages. We clearly spent the extra money to let the monkeys climb on us to eat off our trays. 100% worth it. We're from Missouri and can't wait to go back and visit this place again. The kids are still talking about it 2 weeks later. Thank you so much for the lovely entertainment. Hopefully the food concessions is open next time.

Very nice monkey heaven, they've been able to build a jungle type park of 5 acres and have over 300 monkeys practically as in wildlife. Small details.... the $20 general admission only gets you to see the monkeys either in a cage or behind a fence. If you'd like to actually tour the park and see them up close you need to pay $150 per person. The website does not provide such details and we were a bit disappointed.

We had looked forward to the Monkey Jungle and we were not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and accommodating they kept us informed and entertained. The Monkeys were the feature, having the Squirrel Monkeys come out the trees to climb or jump on you to feed was a Great experience. Worth the money for the Monkey cause and the enjoyment. Good Monkeying around time.

This experience was phenomenal my guided tour with the monkeys and tortoise was more than I could ask for. This was a birthday gift and Will (my tour guide) was so detail oriented and kind. Made my love for turtles and monkeys so much more.

This is a terrible, heartbreaking place. All the poor animals here look so miserable and depressed from a lifetime behind bars. My daughter left incredibly sad, asking if there was anything we could do to help free them. It broke our hearts to see the state of the place. If you truly care for animals, by all means possible avoid Monkey Jungle. Is a place where magnificent creatures go to dye slowly in cages.

We had a great time. It is pretty pricey, but I mean how many times in life do you have monkeys jumping all over you? Also be warned, they have fire ants on them. My skin was burning after we were done from the fire ants that are on the monkeys.

2nd year going on our membership. We realistically go every 2-3 months but golden gate park is so nice you can just hang out there. As for the AS, tons of fun the both kids and adults. The rain forest and aquarium never gets old. The cafeteria is busy and is pricey with small portions but perfect to grab a bit and go. Take the family and have a blast

Used to love monkey jungle. I even worked there at one point. Sadly they have changed their business model to price gouge people and limit attendance to only those rich enough to afford it. $150 per person- even children- is absurd. Guess I won’t be going back.

Carlos was an amazing guide and provided the ultimate experience for my wife and I. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond. We did the private tour and it was well worth it, a once in a lifetime experience actually. We will be back on our next visit and I definitely owe the guy a big tip.

First time going and I was more then happy with my experience! We were 20 min late to our appointment time due to accident on freeway and because we were only peat that time slot they worked with us and didn't cut our time short, they still gave us entire hour. We also got rained out right as we got to last section of tour with squirrel Monkeys where they climb on you and you feed them, that part is usually 20 min and we got about 5 before it was pouring and we had to stop but the staff gave us a full refund and were super considerate and friendly. Was definitely worth the money even though our tour got cut short. Would definitely visit again and would recommend!

I love Monkey Jungle. The love affair is over it seems. I have been here many times since 1975. Returning this year with kids and grandkids! The website does not mention their ridiculous mandatory mask policy. Thanks much Pfauzzi. My policy: HEALTHY PEOPLE SHOULD NOT WEAR MASKS. We will NOT be going to MJ as planned with my 3 and 4 year old grandkids. If ever sanity returns I might reconsider this rating and review. MJ can forget my support until then.

This used to be a treat in Miami. Now they have lost their minds. They have limited entry into the park. They now want to charge $150.00 per person. I completely understand the need to look limit the crowds but why gauge us with such ridiculous prices. The Ranger at the front was honest and agreed that this is a messy way to handle the park. He urged us to not go in so that they would hopefully change this policy. We left. I would urge others to stay FAR away until they return to a normal price.

When we made a reservation on the phone we asked for a private guided tour. Once got there it turned out you pay $150 per person for a group guided tour. It was never mentioned on the phone!!! Fine. We could get over that but…. It was never mentioned that you are obligated to wear a mask!! How much fun is that???!!! They should at least have updated the pictures on their website to show people wearing marks so that we would not have bothered driving for 1 hour to this place for nothing! Total disappointment!!!
