French door used to be a nice place, but not anymore. We asked for water 3 times and after we finally got it, look at the bottle. Do you guys ever wash the water bottles??!!! Pumpkin soup used to very delicious, now it is mixed with a lot of water. Service is not good. You will loose business if you continue this. You need to give good service to keep your regular customers. Coimbatore people love to try different places, remember that!

Loved the ambience! Food taste was awesome. Will sure recommend for my friends. We liked every single dish we tried there. The person who served the food was so kind. The quality of the steak was great and cooked well. Never tasted a yummy steak like this before. Hands off to the chef who cooked our perfect dish.

A perfect fine dine place to have food. Good ambiance with excellent customer service. Taste good, all the flavours were upto the mark. My personal favourite was Roasted chicken with ghee rice, ghee was superb😋

Recently I visited the cafe with my family. The food was sooo delicious and the ambience was very good. Very subtle and quiet environment. The staff was very friendly and the service was very good too. We ordered Chicken cheesy pie for starters, Beef steak and Chicken au gratin for mains and for the dessert we ordered sticky toffee pudding. The dessert was one of my favourites. You should definitely try it. The price was a bit high though.

Decent place..understaffed so service is slow and not the best..we reached quite early for dinner but inspite if empty seats in the ground floor we were told they were full but could accommodate us in the first floor..which was ok with us.. Food is good but could be better..the sandwich we tried was toasted to rock like consistency couple of us actually bruised the roof of our mouth if you know what I mean. THE PLACE REQUIRES PRIOR RESERVATION. Guys this place in Coimbatore is an upscale restaurant with brilliant service as well fine French architecture. Once one enters the place the vibe kicks and one doesn't go without admiring the architecture. For the food, which is a tasty, but takes about 20 minutes to be prepared. So one has to have quite a long time in hand to visit here. The service is good and staff friendly. Cost is a bit higher compared to similar restaurants. Best place for couples to visit and during the evenings the place is lively and admirable.

Went last week. The food is good ,nice ambiance. Quite expensive but food were fresh and delicious. There is no menu card we should check it in there website to order, if the provided menu card with details of the food it would be nice ,as we ordered 2 different dishes if we know that were coming we wouldn't ordered it. Service speed is slow and we had to wait for 45mins before getting a seat. Staff here are friendly. The menu pricing was on the higher side but the taste of the food offset this extra price. Food was decent but not as expected as I thought after checking reviews in Google, but service and drinks is extremely bad or I would say absolutely terrible. We order a Farm and fresh Pizza, which I find it crispy, delicious. Pasta Arabitta was decent, again had high expectations as per the reviews in Google. But considering the cost of wine ( non alcoholic), it was untasteful. I really had high expectations. The waiter did not explain us properly the menu. We went to Coimbatore for MahaShivratri event at Isha Foundation. Had stayed in the main city overnight and thought of exploring this place. Italian cuisine served on the French Door named restaurant. Place was good but you need to find it as its based in a residential colony. A proper home built into a restaurant which gives an European feel. Good was okay, portion was small and prices were on the higher side. Overall 4/5 stars

Really good service and food.... The waiter was such a gentleman and his recommendations were really. The sticky toffee pudding in the end really tied everything together. Surprisingly they also had mangalorean food so ordered the good ol mangalorean bun and it was really good 😋

I have been a regular customer here, but my experience only gotten worse over the time. Pasta was too salty and the burger was hard and dry. When asked about the quality of the food, the hotel management got into a defensive mode and only tried to justify for their shortcomings. Food arrived at the tanble too late and foos was just luke warm. Burgers were served without sauce, When asked for sauce they just thrown in some sachets that come with fast foods. Bad service and poor quality made me give them this bad rating. ( Pizza was on their menu but unavailable to order)

A decent and well maintained place to have a rich french foods. It's a top rated restaurant to have dine-in. You have to reserve ahead to have a dinner there. A well-versed menus with a classic French style dishes. If you are a pasta lover, it's a Paradise for you. All the dishes I have tired are blend with proper amount and it's very perfectly decorated and served. Still needs some maintainance to avoid the insects that are roaming while we are having our food at outside but the exterior and interior are maintained well and it will give a feel like we are in a French. So all come together in a one place like good chef, good interiors, good service and good menu.

The looks and ambience of the restaurant impresses the most rather than the food. They offer different varieties of pastas, pizzas and breads which are all very expensive. I get it, you gotta a unique styled restaurant with posh looking ambience and international food but still the food has to be up to it’s standards to accept that steep price. The taste were all okay but nothing great to be mentioned. At least for the price, the quantity has to be more and they disappointed it there. Then again with the Iced Tea - the worst I ever had. Pizza was okay, not the great I’ve ever had but not bad either. Pasta was good, but if you’re ordering a plain pasta, they’ll charge you an additional ₹100 for adding Chicken in it, which they never mentioned while ordering. The service was really great, so kudos for that. Overall its a “Good to try once” kinda restaurant.

You'll get everything, right from Indian to Chinese to pancakes, everything. Also they're pancakes is ❤ Ambience - it's subtle, calm, simple yet beautiful. The outside porch looks so good... Inside decor is aesthetic. Price - a bit costly I must say, that's why 4 stars 😬. But it's worth every penny. Service - it comes a bit late... There's no wrong in it... It's because of the variety of dishes... The staffs are good. Please go here with your girl pals or with your gang of friends... The way the coffee gets served. It’s a overrated place with lack of professional staffing and nothing great about the food. Don’t buy the wine it’s non-alcoholic.

While the presentation was very good, it lacked the taste and quantity of what the food must be. the steak was rubbery and i was struggling with it and the pork was undercooked. The only thing i liked was the mashed potatoes. The quantity and quality of the food needs to level up a heck of a lot for the prices that are being set here.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Frech Door Restaurant and I was truly impressed. From the moment I stepped through the French door, the staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was lively and the decor was Classic and rustic, which I really enjoyed. I love the way artistically transformed an old House into a Classic restaurant. The menu was varied and the portions were ok. The presentation was beautiful and the flavor was out of this world. The side dishes were also delicious, the prices ... of course, we have to pay a little more than in normal restaurants to enjoy the food and the ambiance. I would highly recommend The French Door restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal and a wonderful atmosphere. I look forward to dining there again whenever I get a chance to visit Coimbatore!

The place has beautiful aesthetics and the vibe is calm and classy. The food is top notch! I gorged on the corn, spinach and chilli pie with the orange, ginger and lemongrass cooler. I recommend a visit or more to try everything on the menu.

Very attentive and friendly staff. Nice place though it was mostly empty when I was there. But food was a letdown both times I went. It is a restaurant that positions itself to be a high end bistro/cafe. But the place makes too many compromises, supposedly for local palate. Last year, the pesto pasta had 3X the sauce it needed, and in trying to have such volume of sauce, the pesto had been diluted by cream to the extent that there was barely any taste of pesto. This time I ordered chicken and porcini pasta, and there not even a hint of porcini flavour. Chef said that feedback about strong taste of porcini from patrons had to be accommodated - they may as well use button mushrooms then!

Overpriced, I would say. Got a hint of it even before visiting the place but since there were no other options in Cbe to have a tenderloin steak, I was left with no other options. The tenderloin tasted good but wasn't hot at all and it broke all my expectations. The wine braised chicken also tasted average. Mojito and pizza were really nice and was worth the money. But the other two should either be priced low or should be served better.

We went around 7, there was light but we weren't sure if the place was open as there's no one to open or receive the customers. There's a digital menu, you have to scan a QR code to get it. Took some time to install an app to scan the code and get a hyperlink. Garlic bread is good, Chicken burger was decent, pasta is average, good sauce but mushy. There's ambience but overall it felt dull and gloomy.

Living in Europe I was surprised to see such a gem in Coimbatore. I had the roasted pumpkin soup, confit duck and baked yogurt. My 6 year old daughter also enjoyed the pasta and the crème Brulé. The presentation and the taste were absolutely blissful. I will definitely visit this place if I am here again.

Although the food is good, this review is for post covid19 conditions. The restaurant is very poorly managed. The waiters are not well trained. They don't switch on the a/c and they have one table fan for an entire hall of dining which makes you sweat like crazy. The good food becomes bad when the ambience is spoilt. Once upon a time , it was one of the best restaurants in Coimbatore, not anymore , it's ambience , it's bad. Annapoora(rs puram) which ten times more crowded has better air circulation than french door.

The ambiance, food variety, cleanliness and service was good in general. We were a group of 7 adults and 3 kids. One of the dishes had excess salt and the restaurant wouldn't remove that item from the final bill even though we couldn't eat 75% of the dish. It shouldn't have been a problem to remove one item due to an issue. Our final spend or bill was about 6k. They could be a little more customer friendly.

A aesthetically pleasing spot especially for loved ones, you can book in advance for special seats (fully decorated) and for family get-together's too. Quite a big place. Only factor is if you're a person looking for food on a budget. This is not your choice. Food is quite expensive, and in a French style.

Pretty cafe in Coimbatore. Loved their interiors, decors and since I was in a hurry just tried one of starter, maincourse and dessert from their Italian spread menu. The cheese souffle was yummy. The desserts were too pricey for me.

The ambience was amazing. Such a calm and soothing place to enjoy your meal. Taste and quality of food was above average. But the vegetarian variety was not quite satisfying. But still they prepared a plate of French Fries upon demand. Rooftop dining wasn't available when I visited the place because it was under cleaning after lunch. So if you want to try the rooftop dining experience, go to place sometime after 5 PM or before 2.45 PM.

Good restaurant with great ambiance, food was awesome over there but pizza size alone can be improved it's very little for 1 person and you can't share it with anyone. Apart from that this restaurant is too good to spend time with friends and family if you are looking for a pleasent atmosphere with ambience in the city that's the place to visit . The staff was very good and they served us well . My favourite is grilled veg cheese burger and French fries. Menu will differ with timing, it's advisable to visit sharp at 7pm so you will have alot of options in menu. For public : it's expensive but not very expensive , budget for two people will be 1000 rupees. Final verdict : can provide more french dishes. Must visit restaurant for special occasions.

Vanakam!! I had been to this restaurant for Dinner. The place is good for the ambience, nicely decorated for a pleasant dinner. Nice mild music playing all-over. (4/5) Hospitality and the sevice is the worst which i see for rhis kind of restaurant. After we sat on the table they took almost 40mins to take the order even after telling twice. Pathetic service. The guy who took the order doesn't even have the patience to wait and explain what they have as a recommend dish. (1/5) We ordered an appetizer with a mushroom base, not bad (3/5). The main course items we ordered was a pasta with roasted red paprika base and a Veg au gratin. The pasta is utter waste. It doesn't even have the taste of paprika and the portion what they served for that money they put is not worth at all(2/5) . The other dish veg au gratin was good. It was spinach, broccoli and mushroom based and tasted well. Because of the cheese and creamy taste and flavour it filled out stomach. I still don't know whether it is worth for that money or not (4/5). Since the deserts in the menu was not so interesting, i went and took a Carrot walnut cake and Banana muffin separately near the billing counter. The price for that was reasonable ₹80/piece and it tasted good. (4/5) I would say the place is not worth for the hype which they gave in the review in Google reviews. Not worth for money

Considering how highly this restaurant is rated, we went in expecting really tasty food. To our disappointment, the food was below average. We tried the Chicken and jalapeno mille feuille which did nothing to my palate. Bland is also a taste, and I didn't even get that. 1/5 Next was the Chicken Cordon Bleu. It was average at best. 3/5 The pasta alfredo was okay. They charged ₹100 extra for chicken, which was barely there. 3/5 Choco chip pancakes were bad. I wouldn't recommend. The chocolate chips were molten, they didn't have a bite to it. Strawberries were bitter. We couldn't even finish them. 1/5 The Hazelnut Dome was good. 4/5 The ambience is great! All in all, it was an underwhelming experience in an above average looking place. Fin.
