That Super Special Butter Appam On my trip to Coimbatore I met some lovely Foodies. One of them suggested that we try breakfast at this small hole in the wall tiffin place called Mahaveer Tiffin Mess. I couldn't even find a location tag here, it's that local. We were so glad that we skipped the pityful breakfast at @radissonblu & ate an amazing breakfast of butter masala dosa, butter dosa, onion sevai. Whilst all of the dishes we ate were awesome, this really really stole the show. A Coimbatore speciality think of a super thick yet sooooper soft Appam cooked in ghee. It has a very crisp crust while the inside is super soft. I'm not doing this dish justice. Trust me. You want to eat this at least once in your life if not repeatedly. They serve it with 3 chutneys (not in photo) & sambar on a banana leaf. Goodness I'm craving it now!!! Thank you @so_coimbatore for introducing us to this amazing place & for treating us to a fabulous most memorable Coimbatore breakfast!!

Butter Appam must try They serve with different types of chutneys. Parking on road side for car. Shop is lil inside from main road All other dosa varieties are good. Sevai wasn't great that much. Mostly their least pricing in many is 80 for all. Bit higher on the bill side. For 2 ppl approx 410 480 will be the bill amount. Infrastructure can be improved.

Pure veg restaurant. All dishes made of Butter . They also give four varieties of chutneys coconut chutney, Mint chutney,Onion chutney and tomato chutney. The Butter appam and butter sevai are their signature dishes. We Also had butter masala dosa . If they could provide sambar it will add more value . They have to plan for Parking facility .

Very very worst hotel 😡, cost is too much compare to other hotels, taste is also not good . 1 normal plain Dosa (max dia 30 cm)is ₹40 ,where as in other hotels comparatively in larger hotel itself the cost is ₹20(max)

Good vegetarian hotel especially with variety of appam(appam is different with normal appam) and sevai. Butter appam and butter sevai are very good.The tomato chutney and gravy was delicious.But one must specify to avoid ghee/butter and use oil for dishes. Price was reasonable. The place was simple and clean Great place for butter and ghee lovers!!

Must try place when in Coimbatore. Butter appam and Adai are must try items as these are stand out dishes. All other dishes are also equally yummy, but the aforementioned are standouts. The variety of chutneys are yummy and probably the only item that is not upto the standards they set is the sambhar, it's a bit different. One of the must try restaurants in coimbatore located in RS puram where four wheeler parking is very difficult. Butter appam is one of the must try and made with right proportion of butter. They serve 4 types of chutney and no sambar which is a big miss. Overall the taste and service is good and value for money. Parking for 2 wheeler can be managed opposite to hotel.

Actually i don't know to say about the experience it's actually extraordinary, the service is not as speed as we have in regular hotels but the waiting also worths and the final amount is soo affordable like we had dinner with full satisfaction and it costs about 325/- its more and more better in terms among vegetarian hotels and the moral of the story is Tiffan house is really heaven

This place has a great variety of food taste though their taste is high their price is also too high when compared to their ambience. They are too pricy but you have to experience it for atleast once.

Located inside a lane. All are butter made items. Butter appam looks like a big size oothappam. Didn't expect this shape/size. But an experience to taste. Three chutneys and a sambar type chutney. This tiffen house is famous for its butter dishes !! Butter uthapam being the best as it is laced with butter everywhere!! It was very busy when I went there and had to wait about 15 minutes to get a table. The ambience is very old and is a bit cramped to sit

This is been there since 1974, and is a modified residential building on a busy road. Limited menu to choose from. Only traditional South Indian Tiffin is available. Closed during lunchtime. Standard dishes like dosa and uthappam varieties, sevai, etc are available. Three varieties of chutney is available. No sambar, no coffee or tea... no post eating drinks. Food is tasty, portions are small and price almost that of larger hotels.

Recently only I have started visiting this outlet mainly for their BUTTER APPAM , which was good. The other items like dosa varieties, utappam varieties were also good. But of the SAVAI VARIETY, I ordered Tomato, which was average and the quantity was very less to the price which they charged for it ( Rs.80 ).they should try to improve the quality and consider the price factor of the portion which they supply. REST ALL FOOD VARIETY THE PRICES WAS OK.. 🙂

Very simple menu...Their menu is limited to Appams,sevai,few dosa varieties and idly. Homely tase their chutneys deserve a mention... fresh and right amount of spice. BUTTER APPAM is the star. Price : 300 for 2 Little bit priced in the higher side... Their masala dosa is exactly of the size of dosa that we have in our home and it costs around 60 Rs... The size of the dosa items can be increased they look so small compared to other places...not filling... Ambience: Nothing to say much...it's a house turned into hotel so...first room is okayish... But the other two rooms have no ventilation...so better try to sit in the first room.

The first negative point is that they don't serve sambar in the evenings. They serve something called Thakkali sambar, but in my opinion it's just plain Thakkali chutney only, they may call whatever they want. And that Thakkali chutney is also very pathetic in taste. Other three chutneys were ok. Masala dosa was good but very small. Adai was ok only and very thin. Butter roast was ok. As sevai got over, we couldn't taste it. But someone in the nearby table was complaining about the quantity of sevai, it was very less. Butter aappam was ok. Nothing much to talk about the ambience as it's a outhouse converted into hotel (like a mess). But for that, and the quality/quantity the price is a bit high. Overall, its a overhyped restaurant, I went because of the good reviews. But I will not visit again.
