This temple has got a very good vibe. It can be climbed through stairs (which r not very hard) and also can be reached to by vehicle. Will hardly take 40 min to reach the top by climbing. But once you reach there you absolutely feel great. There are multiple Gods in the temple. The whole effort of climbing is worth it.

Hindu Religious place, can drive very close to temple. Option to walk also. It's not on top of mountain. Really surrounded by green mountain, get a good view of coimbatore city from top. Very pleasant place. Heaven on earth. Worth a visit all the time.

Among the most amazing temples I've ever been to. The location is incredibly beautiful and calming. The presence of nature is felt. The top hill's view looks to be really amazing. The location is bounded on three sides by hills. If you are visiting the location, make sure that you walk past the stairs and stop at the temples along the way. The Siddhar Cave, which is located slightly to the left of the temple, is well worth a visit. It is highly recommended that you visit the temple if you are visiting Coimbatore.

A divine place to have great darshan of Sri Muruga , situated on a small hillock with about 700 steps to climb . Vehicle are allowed till 800 steps . Last few steps needs to covered by walking . During my visit there was heavy crowd as it’s season of Ayyappa devotees an Sri Melmarthavur devotees taking pilgrimage to many places . The weather was present . Visited in Dec 2023

Can say powerful God over the surrounding, but there are 2 ways to reach hill top one by road and another by steps. By road they charge 10rs for bikes and may be w0rs or 30rs for car. Reach by sunset time to have a wonderful view from top. Temple is situated between the hills. Below the hill top we can find few rooms facilities. By choosing them say u have been for temple visits so that u will be charged at lower price. Even food carts are available but reach as early as possible by 8.30PM most of the carts will be closed. Only few food options u can find that is only dose, idli at the Night. By morning time idli, vada, dose, poori.

Architecture of the Temple is phenomenal. To reach there you can go by stairs (700+) or by transport available outside at bottom of hill. You can go there before 7:00 pm as when it gets dark wild animals might find you. View from the temple is breathtaking. If it rains/there are clouds, you're lucky to see those scenes on hill. Clouds might come through the temple (happened with me). City looks great from the top. I Highly recommend to visit.

I recently had the privilege of visiting Marudhamalai Arulmigu Subramanya Swami Temple in Coimbatore with my family, and I must say it was an experience of a lifetime. From the moment we arrived on a sunny morning, the temple greeted us with its serene ambiance and breathtaking beauty. To begin with, reaching the temple was a breeze as there was a convenient bus service available that took us all the way to the top. This thoughtful provision made the journey hassle-free for our group of 12 family members, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the spiritual adventure that awaited us. Upon reaching the top, we were captivated by the awe-inspiring panoramic view that unfolded before our eyes. The picturesque scenery surrounding the temple, with lush greenery and majestic hills, created a sense of tranquility that instantly put us at ease. The priests at the temple deserve special mention for their warm and welcoming nature. They guided us through the rituals and provided insightful information about the temple's history and significance. Their genuine devotion and dedication added to the sacred atmosphere of the place, making our visit even more meaningful. One aspect that stood out during our visit was the temple's impeccable cleanliness. The entire premises were well-maintained, reflecting the devotion and respect for the divine space. It was truly a pleasure to explore the temple's various sections, all of which exuded a sense of serenity and purity. As we embarked on this spiritual journey, we were filled with a profound sense of peace and positivity. The Temple provided us with an opportunity to connect with the divine in a meaningful way, leaving a lasting impression on our hearts and minds. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting the Marudhamalai Arulmigu Subramanya Swami Temple to anyone seeking a spiritual retreat in Coimbatore. Its scenic beauty, welcoming priests, and pristine environment make it a truly transformative experience. Whether you are a devotee or simply looking for a place to find solace, this temple offers a sacred haven that will leave you feeling refreshed and inspired.

Good temple with ancient history. Had to wait almost for 2 hours to get to mountain top car parking area since they allow only about 10 vehicles at a time to top of the hill due to parking space issue. Need to climb some steps even after reaching parking point. Temple has a huge queue over weekend. 50rs spl darshan will offer the flexibility to finish darshan quickly.

Marudhamalai dates back to the 12th century, built by great kings as a place of devotion to Lord Muruga on the outskirts of Coimbatore. The temple itself is a mirror of the rich culture and tradition of the Tamil culture and their love for spiritual liberation. It was only till after notable filmmaker M.M.A Chinnappa Thevar made a huge undisclosed contribution, the maintenance of the temple happened in full swings, with roads being laid to ease off the burden of the devotees climbing up and also reworking the steps for a better experience. Marudhamalai is also famous for the belief that it blesses couples who are struggling to get pregnant. The aura around the place is divine if not powerful enough to take us through the roads of tranquility and vividness together. Like most other Murugan Temples, this one is also on a hill though not as tall as the one in Palani. But what’s not common is the fact that this shrine sits on East of the hill compared to the other temples. There are lots of special festivals and rituals happening here round the year with the most popular and celebrated one obviously being the Thai Poosam. During festive times like these, devotees take out the almighty Lord Muruga on a Chariot ( Rath Yatra) on circles around the temple, with a flock of other devoted devotees taking a glance of the majestic looking beautiful event of the night. There are numerous water bodies circling the temple like the Maruda Theertham and snake charmer’s spring that is believed to be containing astounding Medicinal properties. On the southern corner of the temple, there is a descending stairs taking us down to the popular and interesting Pambatti Sidhhar cave which is believed to be the place where Sidhhars meditated to attain spirituality. Marudhamalai hills is located on the West side of Coimbatore at 14kms away from the city center. There are numerous buses plying regularly from Gandhipuram to the hill. The only route being the polite and calm Vadavalli road. The road is free from traffic and honking cars, with trees adorning both the sides of the beautiful wide roads. With a 15 minutes drive from Vadavalli, you will find Marudhamalai at the end of the road. The road ends right here with no connecting or extension from here, the only thing on the other end is the prestigious Western Ghats foothills. There are small shuttle buses available at the foothills to reach the hillock temple. You can either board the bus or take up your own vehicle for a brief uphill drive. There are also the old traditional steps at the other side for those who wish to take the conventional route up. The usual timings are 5.30am to 1pm and 2pm to 8.30pm Marudhamalai has always been one of the favorite places for people here, that hasn’t changed over the years at all. Thanks to the ultimate divinity and absolute serenity surrounding the air.

It's currently open and follows covid protocol. If you're walking, it's a 1.3 km footpath. Will take around 20 minutes to climb. Personal vehicles are allowed to go the hilltop. The temple is not crowded and the environment around pambatti sithar cave is very peaceful. Best time to visit would be around 4-6 pm when the Coimbatore weather is just awesome!

    (Translated by Google) Temple 🕉️ History Arulmigu Subramania Swamy Temple In Marudhamalai, Pambatti Siddhar, blessed by Lord Murugan, carved a new idol for Lord Murugan. This statue is in the headquarters. He has two arms, like Palani Murugan, with a pen in his hand and a left arm at the waist. At the back of the head is Kudumi. He wears a spine on his feet. Every day he will be on display with three types of decorations such as royal ornaments, vibudhikappu and sandalwood. He wears silver armor on special days and gold armor on Christmas and Thaipusam days. Only in Arthajama Puja can he be seen in his own form as a dandayuthapani. Then they wear only Vetti, without any ornament or crown. Sung by Arunagiri. Ithalam is considered to be the seventh house. Pambatti Siddhar Sanctuary: The Pambatich Siddhar Sanctuary is located in a cave in the middle of the cliffs. The crown is in the right hand, and the left hand is folded. Nearby is Shivalingam, Nagar. After the puja for Murugan, the puja is performed for Siddhartha. It is said that Pambattichittar still worships Lord Murugan here. Every day they pour milk in a bowl in his sanctuary. The next day this milk may be low. Siddhar is said to have anointed this milk to Murugan and performed puja. Snake Murugan: There is a snake shape on the rock in the Pambatichittar shrine. In the form of this dragon, Lord Murugan appeared to the serpent. This dragon is worshiped as Murugan. The back has three forms of pedestal-like structure. These are worshiped as Shiva, Ganapati and Ambika. Usually Lord Murugan will show Shiva in the middle of Ambal. Here Ganesha, it is special to be on display among the parents. Marudachala Murthy: Murugan is also known as Marudachalamurthy here as he is the benefactor of the hill, which is full of medicinal trees and contains herbs that have healing properties. Maruthamarame Ithalattin Virutsam. The name of the theertham is Maruthu Sunai. This theertham became famous. It is said that this theertham is produced from under a mangrove tree in the hill. This theertham is used for Swami anointing. Adi Murugan: In the ancient Shiva temples, Lord Shiva is self-sufficient. But, Murugan is selfish in the title. It is special to have Valli and Deivana in self-portrait with him. Murugan has a split on the back. Valli is tall and the deity is slightly lower. This Murugan is the primordial deity of Italam. His shrine is called Adi Moolastanam. After the first pooja is performed for him, the pooja for the main Murugan takes place. He is mostly anointed and worshiped during Krithika. Pancha Virutcha Ganesha: Ganesha will be under the royal tree. Ganesha has five trees under it, namely Arasu, fig, neem, Vanni and Korakkattai. He is called Panchavirutsavinayagar. Nearby, Lord Murugan sits on a peacock with a sword in his hand. Somaskanda site: The system in which Lord Shiva and Lord Murugan are in the middle of Ambal is called the Somaskanda system. Here too, Lord Shiva is seen in the middle of Lord Shiva and Ambal. Although Murugattalam, there is a Pattiswarar shrine on the right side of the Swami and an emerald shrine on the left side. It is noteworthy that Murugan Sikivakanar (possessing a peacock vehicle) in Koshtam is known as Senani (Commander-in-Chief). Ganesha suitable for uncle: On the way to the Marudhamalai temple, there is a spontaneous Ganesha shrine at the foot. Ganesha is selfish in this session. He has only an elephant's head and no body. He stretches out his trunk towards the Murugan shrine on the hill. Another Ganesha statue is dedicated nearby. After performing puja for Swayambhu Ganesha, puja is performed for the main Ganesha. The auspicious days for Murugan are Krithika, Sashti (Original)

    1. You can reach the temple by govt bus or red taxi cab. Ola/Uber won't come to this place mostly. 2. If you book red taxi, take hourly package 3 to 4 hrs) because if you take one way trip, you can't book it again from temple top. The mobile tower is not available at the top. (red taxi cab be booked only through phone call) 3. If you take govt bus, you need to take another mini bus to reach top. (ticket price 10rs). 4. Once you reach the top, you need to take another 75 steps to reach the temple. It may be slightly difficult for some elderly people as the steps are steep in some places. 5. There are also steps to reach the temple. Around 1000 steps which will take 45 mins to 1 hour. 6. Best time to reach the temple is 4pm to 5 pm in the evening. There won't be much crowd and you can finish all dharshan in 45 mins to 1 hour. 7.Once you reach the temple, take special ticket which is 20rs. You can have a closer look of lord Murugan and also it's quicker

The temple is a small temple on the hill. All the services were good according to me. There is a temple provided bus service that connects downhill to uphill and the bus only costs 10 ₹. The hair donation is also free but there is some unaccounted money taken (Mostly around 200 ₹). The waiting time is very low in normal seasons. There are special tickets which are 50₹ per person. The stairs are also good but it's a little uncomfortable and I would not recommend it unless you are not able to climb stairs easily. The temple has a very good environment and the cleanliness of the temple was good. The stairs close approximately 5pm and the last bus service from uphill to downhill is 8pm. So reaching there before these times would be reasonable. There is a good amount of parking uphill for cars and bikes. Definitely would recommend for any type of transport public and private. I have tried this temple in all different holidays and the wait times are always very low unless there is an abishekam going on. Where people have to wait for the abishekam to end. It mostly takes 40mins for the abishekam to end.

The Marudhamalai hill temple is located at a towering height of 500 ft in the highland on the Western Ghats. 15 kms away to north-west of Coimbatore city, the temple has an excellent invigorating atmosphere. Vehicles are allowed to pass through the Marudhamalai temple and the devasthanam has granted three buses from the low slope of the hill to get through the temple on top. The Marudhamalai temple has its main deity as Lord Muruga and the temple attributes quite delightful facilities to the habit of making their visit a comforting one while offering their prayer to the deity. The major feature of this hill is that it grows important medicinal herbs, which is used extensively in making ayurvedic medicines.

Note: They close from 1 PM to 2 PM for lunch, so can’t go up, everything stalls for an hour😈 Reach by steps, bike, car or buses operating from many parts of Coimbatore, can step out near the temple entrance and have to climb some 50 steps to see God Muruga.🦚 Roads are of not bad kind, not so steep😇 The steps are coated with white paint makes it easy for the people to go up in bare foot😊 Bathrooms and temple premises are maintained well by the concerned departments😊 Overall a good place to spend your 2 hours🎉 Gracias😁☺️

One of the most beautiful temples I've visited. The place is so soothing and divine. You can feel the presence of God and his grace. Have a proper parikarma of the temple and bow in front of Lord Murugana and his two wives. You can see the place from far away in the night. The beauty and the presence of the place just leaves you in peace and enlightened. The place is surrounded by hills from three sides. If you're visiting the place, go by the stairs and visit the temples on the way to complete your journey. You should also visit the siddhar cave slightly down from the left of the temple. If you're coming to Coimbatore, you should definitely visit the temple and ask Lord Murugan for his grace.

Use temple transport to go up, recently lot of wild animals are roaming around there. Be safe and enjoy the trip.

Marudhachalamurthy (Lord Muruga) Temple, Marudamalai is a popular 12th century hill temple build by Tamil kings during sangam period as shown in purananuru and dedicated to Lord Murugan, situated in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. It is considered as the Seventh House of Lord Murugan. Like most Murugan temples, the temple is situated upon a hillock, part of the Western Ghats about 12 km west from the cente of the city of Coimbatore. Thai Poosam and other Murugan festivals are celebrated. The name 'Marudham' is derived from the native trees marudha maram (Terminalia arjuna) present in the hill where the temple is situated and 'malai' in Tamil language is meant hill or mountain. This Murugan temple is special since it is in East face on the hill compare to other murugan temples on the hills. The temple is atop a 600 ft (180 m) tall granite hill in Coimbatore. The presiding deity is addressed by multiple names like Marudhamalai Andavar, Marudachalapathi and Dhandayuthanpani. There are various water bodies around the temple, namely Maruda Theertham and Snake charmer's spring, which is believed to possesses medicinal properties.

Quaint little temple on top of a hill. Very serene atmosphere. Can park right in front of the temple. Quite a few stairs to climb, but not too steep. What i did not appreciate were the discarded prasad all over the temple complex, which would come under our feet if not careful. It had rained a bit that day and the complex was a patchwork of puddles and mud. There were some bricks and green cloth spread out for whatever it is worth. So we had to pick our way avoiding the food, discarded containers, puddles and mud!

It is the Murugan Temple. We can get into the temple by climbing a hill of around 500 steps or by bus. The Temple is located in Coimbatore District. It is usually busy during sunday and holidays. If we visit early in the morning it's best.

Driving up the hill to Marudhamalai temple in itself is a very wonderful experience. There are also buses going from the bottom of the hill to the top. Parking fees for cars would be collected at the entry point at the bottom. The temple is wonderful with scenic beauty all around. A little crowded but manageable. The temple was open when we visited at 3pm. As Google says, temple was not closed in the afternoon.

This is located in small hill, you need to drive few hairpin bends to reach there. Parking space is less. As few construction work is going on. Temple is maintained good. They have lots of dustbin to dispose waste. So no much littering, As it was less crowded it’s easy to see the god. For elderly people it will be tough to climb the stairs because it’s steep. Subramani is the god In Tamil they say Muruga.

Beautiful temple of Lord muruga. We climbed the mountain by foot and it took us close to 30 minutes from start to finish. The lines are pretty small early in the morning and the special entrance line was even less busy (<10 people in line ). The views up top are very nice.

Definitely the must visit temple once you visit coimbatore. A very famous murugan temple with lot of history behind it. Car entrance is charged 50 rs per vehicle at the entrance of temple. The roads are very bad, need maintenance. The climate was so good very chill. As it was evening there was lot of crowd,so we bought 50rs ticket in which we went in 10 minutes to the main deity. The temple is very well maintained by the management. Must visit. The pambatti sidhar is little bit steep and it's also a must visit. You get a good view of coimbatore city from the hillock.

Be prepared to climb 650 stairs in hot weather! Bus service goes half way but not working these days. Wonder why only cut fruit sellers and no drinking water facilities. Probably no toilet facilities so they don’t want you to drink fluids. No garbage bins so littering all along the stairs. The temple itself neat clean and positive vibes. Spend Rs 50/- and get in through the VIP line. Coming down is a breeze

It's a beautiful temple complex built onto the side of a mountain. it is a temple to Murugan. The surroundings are green and scenic with views of mountains all around. In the afternoons, it can get extremely hot. The ground can get so hot that it can boil your feet. Make sure to visit the Pambaati Siddhar temple hidden away to one side of the complex. The way to the cave temple offers some beautiful views.

A very nice place to visit and worship Lord Murugan. This place is so calm and serene on a less crowded day. The temple is on top of a small mountain and the road that leads to it has a quite a number of twists. There is ample parking at the top. Devotees can also reach the top using stairs.

Such a peaceful and soothing atmosphere. For the people who loves to talk a walk alone or with friends in the lap of mountain, it's a better choice. A perfect place to spend time with yourself enjoying the nature. I have never felt such a gracious vibe anywhere. This place is soo beautiful in the mornings. And the temple is so gorgeous in evenings with the lights and all. As the number of visitors are very less in usual days. You can visit there peacefully.

It is 12k.m from Coimbatore. The hill is 500feet hight. You have to climb about 700steps from the bottom to reach the top. You have to climb about 50steps for the temple from the top from their we have 3 Devasthana buses to reach the top of the hill.only Devasthana buses are allowed. The temple is considered second to ARUPADAI VEEDU.The temple has Dravidian architecture. We can have the view of the Coimbatore city from here. The RAJAGOPURAM was recently built .At. the foothills we can worship THAAN THONDRI VINAAYAKAR. The temple is decently maintained. THE LORD is glorified in THIRU MUGURUGATRUPADI.The hillstation abounds in medicinal herbs. On the way to the temple we can see PAAMBAATTI SIDDHAR CAVE. THIRU M.M.A CHINNAPPA THEVAR made very great contri bution to the proper maintenance of the temple, clearing the hilly route ,resting houses, drinking water. The Devasthana board manages a HOME for DESTITUTES. On the top of the hill there is a wedding hall. There are many SPRINGS OF HOLY water .

After about 7 years, I visited the Maruthamalai Subramanya swami temple. It's divine to visit on any day. One of the beautiful temples located around 16 km from Coimbatore. More specifically, as today is Adi Kirthigai. There's not much crowd in the morning. The bad part is that temple administration and HRCE create such a bad scenario - no vehicle is allowed to go, and the buses to go uphill are very limited maximum 2 and big fight among the staff. On top of it, 1 km before the stop 4 wheelers and collect parking though it was not at all parking. It's pity the way in which they behave the HRCE staff. On the way back, we decided to walk back, rather than waiting for a non existing bus. Finally, the divine comes to mind, Om Muruga.

Beautiful temple located amidst the hills. The sunset view of the Coimbatore city from here is just too beautiful. The temple itself is well managed and you feel quite blessed visiting the temple. There is bus service from the base of the hill to the top (Rs.10) or you can take the 800 steps that are well laid out. We took the steps and it took about 40 mins to climb and 25 mins to come down. There are direct buses from Gandhipuram bus stand (Bus no. 70). If you're coming from the railway station area, you'll have to get off at Vadavalli bus stand (Bus no 1A, 1C) and take another bus to Marudhamalai. Auto rickshaws demand a lot of money, so it's more economical to take the bus.

Om Murugha Potri|| This temple is a Lord Murughan temple, popular hill temple situated near Coimbatore. This temple is special because it is in the east face on the hill while compared to other Murughan temples. This temple is also considered as the 7th house of Lord Murugha.. Starting from the foothill there is a Pillayar temple -" Thaan Thondri Vintage" and also a cave near by known as - " Paambatti Sitthar Kugai" ( the place where sage lived in). And moving towards the temple you will see different kinds of pooja tickets and entrance tickets people who needs can take that. Thaipoosam and other Murughan festivals are celebrated here. A very good trek u will enjoy the nature with the blessings of Lord Murugha. The whole view of Coimbatore can be seen when u climb to the top of the hill. Amazing weather with lots of peace. Many experiences can't be explained unless you feel the same.. Experience the feel and comment of review!!

This is very older temple in and across Coimbatore. Many pilgrimage visit these temple occasionally.Mainly in the month of November,December and January this place is visited by pilgrimage who returns from Sabarimala .It is believed that Lord Muruga should be worshiped by the pilgrimage from Sabarimala. And in the month of January and also Tamil month known as Thai(தை) the well known day for Muruga is Thaipoo sam(தைபூசம்) and in the month of March to April ,The Tamil month known as Panguni (பங்குனி), a day called Panguniutthiram (பங்குனிஉத்திரம்) is celebrated well here.So when ever any tourist visits here,I would recommend to visit temple and worship Lord Muruga. And after all the special of the temple, the natural view of this place awesome so that you would feel like you have entered A rain forest,it is very close to God's own land Kerala, the climate in a good chill. So do visit comment me your experience.

Peaceful place. Buses are easily available from gandhipuram, Coimbatore. When u reach there U have to take another bus from bottom to reach temple neither you can go by stairs. Temple is very nice and well maintained.

  • 5/5 Haritha 3 years ago on Google
I absolutely love everything about the temple. There's bus facility to reach the hill top temple. Bus coupon can be purchased in the entrance (to) and at the temple counter (from). Special highlights are the cave temple and the magnificent chariot - which is only displayed during special occasions. I'd highly recommend taking steps (atleast) while climbing down the hill. There are small shops that serves salted mangoes, pine apples and watermelon throughout your way to keep your tummy engaged and you hydrated. Monkeys can be found on your way! However the astrologers down the way aren't much appreciated (depends on your beliefs). Dawn and dusk are much preferrable time to choose walking over bus journey to have a soothing experience.

One of the most beautiful place in Coimbatore. For the devotees its a pleasant temple. For the nature lovers its a pleasant view point. You can see the Cbe city from there. Water and rest rooms are available. You can walk by step or can go to top by ur own vehicle. Govt bus also there from down to top. Don't forgot to go down for Bampaatti sithar temple. You can spent a day there.

  • 5/5 Krishnamoorthy R. 2 years ago on Google
A good place for those wanting experience pure Bhakti for Muruga and/or a small walk with the nature climbing hills through stairs. The stairs as well as he roads are well maintained. There is enough space for car parking. Was lucky that the place was not crowded the day I visited and was able to immerse within. Definitely spend time to visit Paampati Sidhar temple And the old shrine. And never miss to enjoy the evening view of the city from top of this place. It’s awesome.

It is a lovely trek up that might leave you a little exhausted, especailly if you are not used to climbing high. But the beauty of the temple and the views around are worth it. Those who want to avoid the stairs can take a cab right up to the top. The temple premises stay clean, like most south Indian temples. There is an Idumba shrine here, which houses an image of the deity carved on a huge rock. Couples often come here to offer toys and cradles. It is believed that couples who donate here are blessed with a progeny. A beautiful mandapam enshrines

Mesmerizing place in Coimbatore to visit. The entrance view of Temple tower surrounded by hills will make you awestruck everytime you visit. Temple maintenance is very good. Parking space to be improved further without much damaging natural resources.

A must visit place. Apart from religious angle, one can bathe in the natural beauty at its best. Surrounding mountains gives an awesome look and experience. . The teme premises is well maintained. Crowd management is pretty good. Devotees can avail the free shuttle service being operated from the bus stand to the temple car parking area. From their newly laid out stairs provide comfortable climbing.

The temple is situated at an approximate distance of 15Km from Coimbatore Town Bus Stand. You can get on Bus No. 70 (there are other buses too) , which will take you to the foothill of the abode. You can either take a bus from here to access the temple premises or there are steps which may take 30 to 45 min to climb according to one's capacity. The abode is so serene, surroundings by peaks to the top. You can see the the entire coimbatore from here. The scenery which you see is impeccable. Its a must go place.

Neat, small, popular temple. Be prepared for traffic snarls at the foothill, as some construction or repair activity is going on in the parking area uphill. Vehicles go up, but still one needs to climb a few (70-80) steps to reach the temple.

  • 5/5 Rocketeer 6 months ago on Google
It's a temple, who are we to rate it!!! I'm just posting my experience and useful tips.. The best way to get there from Coimbatore is via Uber or take a bus 1C (there after interchange at vadavalli) and same thing while returning. Frequent bus services are available.. Over all cost to go there and come back was ₹100 per person.. If you travel in your own vehicle then it takes sometime for entering the parking and there after to go up the hill and you might miss the Vinayaka temple at the foothill. Once you reach there, you can either take the bus or walk the stairs. There is a footwear stand and also refreshments (sale) along the stairs. There is Vinayaka temple and other temple on the way. But there is no roof so you have to stop at the check points mandapam alonng the way but there is a mandapam for almost every 100th step. It took me almost 20min to climb all the stairs without stopping in between. There are no monkeys. It was a pleasant experience in the morning (0900am) climate was nice and convenient. The stairs are old and I would suggest kids/diabetic persons to wear at least some socks while climbing. There is a locker facility available at the top. The special entry ticket is Rs. 50 and includes archana. Normal lines are empty by 10:00 am and before that also it wouldn't have taken 20min in the queue line. Both the lines have similar darshan. Only problem was all the sign boards are in Tamil which I couldn't read... Or else I could have posted more info about the place and temples..

Located at near by the Bharathiar University. This is Hill temple. At the foothill buses available to reach temple. Main deity of the temple is Lord Murugan. Frequent city buses available from Coimbatore (From Gandhipuram city bus stand).

This is one of Murugan's Abodes (Arupadaiveedu), signifying the six abodes of Lord Murugan representing the six different forms related to events in his life. The temple, a popular 12th-century hill temple, is situated 12 kilometers from Coimbatore. What makes this Murugan temple special is its location on the eastern face of the hill, distinguishing it from other Murugan temples atop hills. This astonishing, magnificent, and beautiful temple crowns the summit of Marudhamalai Hills. The gentle, refreshing breeze feels heavenly to the devotees, offering an enchanting sight of the lush mountainous surroundings. Peacocks grace the hills, adding to the beauty of this truly amazing place.

We visited on a Saturday evening, as the temple opens around 5 pm, and draws a considerable crowd. Even with special tix (50rs pp) we had to wait for 30min. The combination of spiritual reverence and the natural beauty surrounding the temple created a memorable visit for us.
