This is one of the very informative museum that we have visited. Museum is well maintained and it is worth visiting. Closing time is bit early, so you need to plan your visit accordingly. They should have allowed photography inside. I would recommend this place for children. They would love it...

One of the best curated entomological museum I have ever seen. Everything is so well maintained. Great collection also. It gives a clear idea of insect families around us and their importance for our survival. It has a great collection of stamps from various countries with insects. Collections of beetles, odonates and butterflies are must seen. One of the best innovative idea is giving I'd cards in resemblance with insect group. It is so involving and fun. The museum is clean. You can buy souvenirs also like jewellery, key rings, memento etc. It has huge termite mount. Only thing to improve is the audio visual show. It needs some more content. It was a great experience to visit the museum.

Insect museum is one of the fossilized database about the insects.🕸️🐜🦗🦟🐝🐞🦋🕷️🦂🐛 Entry ticket is too much for what they have, maybe the arrangement of butterflies in the first glance is attractive🦋 It says the staff will guide you near the ticket counter but they were very busy, just they gave the tickets and went away and we're all on our own.🕸️ Butterflies are eye catching and nothing more.🦋 Very good if you're a research scholar on insects. 🐼

This place might be boring if one is not interested to know about different types of insects that live with us in this world, but this museum has very huge varieties of insects preserved. The arrangements done over here is very neat. I would suggest management to provide guides to visitor so they might get more knowledge about these insects.

Amazing place to know more about insects. The guidance of the staffs is not proper. This museum repeats so many insects in different place. This is an ac museum. They have arranged insects in different shapes. The museum is in the shape of an insect. Then there is an auditorium in which they will show the movies of insects. Only once if you visit is enough not more than that. Live bees are kept. Even nepenthes plant also....

Lovely museum which showcases large variety of insects. The beauty is the way in which they are organized. You can see varieties like butterflies, moth, silk worms, borers, beetles, bugs, locusts etc. Many have a history like from the origin to the endlife. They have smart TV's which will display particular information about the insects. They also have guides who will explain about the collections. People from all ages will like the museum.

One of its kind in the Country. Insect museum is in Coimbatore only developed by TN Agriculture University. Lot of useful information at one place available about insects which are about 90% of animal life on Planet. They charge nominal fee and photos and video not allowed inside. Recommend everyone to visit while in Coimbatore.

Wonderful place to visit for all age groups and especially the children. I visited here in March 2020. Insects are not liked by many people, but believe me they are lovely creatures. Insect museum has been designed in a way that one can start loving the insects. It seems that lots of efforts have been taken by the scientists to collect the samples and mounting them like a design. This is the first insect museum one of its kind in India. It displays informative boards in English. So whoever going to Coimbatore do mark this place in your map. Give the children the insight about importance of insects. I think inside photography should also be allowed so that, these efforts can reach to as many people possible. Do charge for cameras etc. Adult ticket is Rs 50/- and Students it is Rs. 30/- only. I also felt that somebody should be there to explain the things in English.

Situated in the insides of the Tamilnadu Agricultural University, this is one of a kind musuem which portays multiple kind of insects along with stages of life of some insects. Those who are enthusiastic about insects can have a blast here.

The Insect Museum in TNAU is the first and unique museum of its kind located inside the TNAU campus, Coimbatore. It has specimens and collections of insects of economical and ecological importance. Huge collections of insects are preserved and decorated into various shapes and structures which looks impressive. Firstly, you will be recieved by a huge Albezia tree trunk which has manually carved insects of each of the 29 major orders of the Class Insecta. Next, you will see a huge wooden carving of Violin mantis which appears as if it welcomes you. You will see a large number of different types of insects ranging from beneficial insects, Insect pests and insect of ecological importance. There are some interesting things about insects kept in the museum like artifacts made of insects, edible insects, movies made based on insects and literary works describing insects. At last , you will find termite hills and other interesting things here. Fee is ₹ 50/- for adults and ₹ 30 /- for students and children if they have ID card. No photography or videography is allowed inside the museum.

The Museum is may be one of its kind in the Country. The varied range of species and number of specimens kept is brilliant. The AV monitors kept in each gallery plays very relevant content and gels very well with the tour. The highlight is the separate apiary outside the Museum. Consisting of a varied range of bee species, it is an excellent place for gaining a sea of knowledge about insects.

One of the most exciting and interesting museums that I have visited. Didn't know that inspects form a major portion of our ecosystem. Original specimens and models are presented in the most interesting manner with AVs playing at each section to highlight everything that is to be known about the species. Only one of it's kind in India. Do visit with your children

If you have to trade between the GASS Museum and the Insect Museum then you MUST go to the Insect Museum. It is not only maintained well but so much information is available and also in the context of India. I would like to say this is top class, the designers have done a fantastic job. They don't allow photos but that is fine.

A Rs. 5 crore insect museum with the state-of-the-art amenities was unveiled by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswamy at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. The museum, established at a 6,691 sqft area, is fully dedicated to insects and claimed to be the first of its in the country. It would display insects preserved as specimens as also live ones depicting their different developmental stages, images, videos and models of their unique behaviour, habits and habitats. The uniqueness of the museum is visible in the lobby, which depicts the theme, "BUGS ARE KINGS," while the exhibiting area comprises seven radial walls (bay) on the right side and an undivided wall on the left side. A section on social insect exhibiting termite mounds (whole and sectioned) and bee hives of different kinds and forms would also be exhibited. A souvenir shop and a mini auditorium to screen insect movies and documentary films are available. Ramp is provided to facilitate the visit of the physically challenged persons.

New concept of museum at the University. The entomologist Dr K.Gunathilagaraj conceived the idea and executed the project with Govt funding with the encouragement of the vice Chancellor Dr KRamasamy. Many locals, school children and visitors are received here. Insects are classified taxonomy wise and arranged to create interest in the minds of visitors with details collected worldwide resources. Really a great job!

Cancer termites, termite nest of a termite's life, as well as kurukkuvettuttorramum fantastic. The imagery that describes the life of bees is wonderful. It is the only museum in India dedicated to research into insects. The museum has some wonderful collection of insects - which are too arranged in the shape of an insect at a macro level. You can easily reach here by bus going to Marudhmalai Murugan Temple from Gandhipuram Town Bus Stand. Although the timing mentioned is up to 1 pm, the museum administration closes it by 12 noon. I request them to make the timings clear, as many people come here from long distances. The other thing which I didn't like was that photography here was prohibited. Though I enjoyed the museum, but I wanted to keep some photographs of those collection.
