This place is a paradise for those who love taking pictures/videos and enjoy nature. The walk up hill was exciting. The view from the hill top was awesome. The cool breeze added to our positive experience. Wear sports shoes or comfortable footwear when you visit this place. It's a very breezy place so dress accordingly. There are small stalls nearby selling Maggie, cut fruits, juice, corn etc. I enjoyed this place a lot. Definitely recommended for all Ooty visitors.

Its a hill with beautiful scenic view. Lot of films are getting shot here. I have seen many Malayalam movies which shot in this location, We will have a feel like we are going to touch the sky when walking to the top of the hill. It is not a steep one, easily you can walk to the top. Its a good photographic location for the travelers. We wont feel the rush as the area is very wide. There is a small entry fee, parking of your vehicle will be on the road side, you have washroom facility available here. You can avail horse ride here on paid basis.

5 stars are not enough for the kind of views this place offers, best views i have ever been to in a very long time. There is a parking place on the other side of the road , please do not park in the highway its a very busy road. Entrance ticket is just Rs 15 per person and you need to walk 1000 steps uphill to actually see the breathtaking views on a panoramic visual

Such a atmosphere I had ever seen . Nice climate and perfect to shoot photos . Surrounded by trees and plants . You can see pykaralake from the top of 9th mile . Entry fee 30 I think that was soo . Enjoyed the lot more much in this place . It is located in the road side of Tamil Nadu border . I recommend to visit with family or friends .I enjoyed a lot . The clouds are reaching the top . I think clouds are near by me . There is monkeys in the starting where you parked the car , so be carefull when get eating things . You can also let the car in .

It is just an empty mountain marked as tourist destination. The entry fees is RS20 but nothing to see except plain mountain. I would not visit again. It is not good for families as you have to climb up for nothing. Avoid if you don’t like to disappoint yourself.

Amazing place, views at the top are breathtaking. A must stop place on the way to Ooty. If you love a place where nature and views give you peace, this place is for you. There is a small walk from the entrance to the top of the hills through a lush green walkway. The entire scenery gives you calmness. One advice- when you are at the top, walk further towards the other end and occupy the place where no crowd is there. You'll be in awe of the place, play the soft music, enjoy the views and get immersed in the beauty of this place. It feels so relaxing!

Awesome experience at this nature trail. Go with your running shoes on and trek to the top of the trail and beyond to explore the pine trees stretch. Right place to get some awesome pics clicked. Not recommended for very small kids (<3 years) as they can't trek on their own. Pregnant ladies should also avoid going to the top of the trail. Beware of monkeys if you are carrying eatables. Carry water. Washroom is available only at the start point of the trail.

It simply a superb place for holidaying. I can't write my feelings but I'm totally mesmerized by the huge green pasture. It also make me nostalgic as it reminds me the scenes of hindi movies aroud which my youth days were encircled. It's a must watch place in Ooty. Please come here with enough time and return with lung full of fresh air and sweet memories .

Visited morning 10.30 A.M. in a weekday not much crowd enjoyed serene nature for an hour, climbing up hill is a huge task, Once reached heavy cold wind was bliss. Nice place to spend time in morning and evening.

It's a hill area and you have to treck on deep slope to reach the best viewpoint. It's really worth trekking. You'll get to see awesome landscapes around 360 degree. Temperature goes down suddenly after 5pm. We were in journey month end and it was one of the good view points in ooty

A good open space to enjoy nature. The walk from the main road to the summit could be tiring for people with hindered mobility. Otherwise a rounded hill of grass offering good view of the surrounding areas. A must stop while travelling from Ooty to Mysore/Calicut..

Good place for nature photography. Lots of pine trees. One of the must visit places in Ooty. The view is awesome. As the name says shooting spot, it is very good for cinematic video and photo captures. Best time to visit is either in morning or evening.

To enter this place you have to buy a ticket worth 30 ₹/ person. To reach there you have to take 5 minutes trek which is worth it as this place has great scenic views and amazing greenery, Great outing place to hangout with friends and families. It also has a tea and chocolate shop where you can buy tea leaves. Small food shops are present outside this stop where one can have bite size snacks.

My all-time favourite spot in Ooty! Can spend hours and hours just sitting and watching the scenic view. A wonderful place for kids to spend time, again, ticket price is very reasonable, still camera - 50 rupees. Uphill walk will be followed by a pleasant view. On top of the hill few benches have been organized nicely by the tourism department👏 Rewarding experience

One of the redeeming point in the south is the way administration is taking care of the tourist destinations. Lot of attempt is being made to maintain the cleanliness, security and amenities. We visited the place early in the morning and we were all alone to savor the pristine natural calmness of the rolling hills. There was still plenty of mist resting on the blades of the grass. Sunshine was peeking through the grey clouds. There wasn't much wind but the wheather was pleasantly cool to inspire one to indulge in some brisk walking. This is the place which you feel like visiting again and again. We could see some villages in the horizon and they must be the blessed ones.

Beautiful view and definitely worth a visit, although the area can get busy at times. We experienced a bit of traffic on our way there. The entry fee is quite affordable at 30 rps for adults. Surprising that they charge for such a natural habitat without much maintenance. However, a heads-up for visitors, the restroom facilities could be better maintained.

An excellent and important location Stunning scenery and vistas. Parking spaces are provided without cost. Though they only accept cash and mobile NFC, TN charges $30 to enter this location. It is possible to use the restrooms. next to the highway, in the vicinity. Family visits are welcomed; weekends are the busiest and there is a long (5 minute) queue for admission. the opportunity to spend time with friends and family in pleasant weather.

The view was beautiful and breathtaking. You can easily trek up if you are in good health. It barely took 20 mins to go up, click some pictures and come back down. Good place for a family picnic or just for some good family picture day.

Good scenery best place to walk uphill & downhill. If you go a little farther, you can find a good walking path. If you have pets it's an ideal place for dogs. The relaxed atmosphere make you sleepy & make you lying down on the grass 🌿

It's like an eye feast for the people who love sceneries. It's the place for photographers to show their talent. The views are awesome.Best place to have wedding photo shoot. You will amaze when you visit for the first time. It's good to visit in non rainy season. The combination of Views and climate will make feel that we are in heaven. Entrance fee is affordable. We can park our vehicle by the road side. Beware of monkeys.

It was an amazing view point. Photos from every angle is beautiful. You can go for horse riding there. Its a nice place to spend relaxing time with your loved ones. There is entry fee to go to the view point. But the defect at that place is, there is no proper toilet facility. The Tamilnadu tourism should provide proper and clean toilet facilities, especially during this time of covid-19 pandemic.

It's a grassland and vast expanse of hill. There are many movies have been shot here. Its really calm atmosphere and good place to spend some time with family and friends.Best scenic view and chilled weather gives you an immense feel to cherish. This place is fine for any season. All the time it will give you a new experience.. Entry ticket will be 20 Rs and for camera it's vary.Parking is bit difficult since it is located in national highway.

It's literally a piece of heavens preserved here! Basically, it's the village of Toda tribe which has been developed as a tourist spot. The slopes and the clouds hanging between the valley and the peak present unimaginable scenery to city dwellers. Be prepared to walk up and downhills while coming here. There is also no public toilet. There are small eateries though to serve your snack needs. Not a great place to take elderly to.

A treat to eyes when climbed up the mountain. Beautiful Zigzag shaped mountain road gave you a pleasure. Greenish meadows and valleys give you joy. Can enjoy the trekking experience. Many film shootings were done here. You can remember this place in some films. Elder people may avoid climbing up. It is a treasure for young couple and photo shoots. A Thoda hut is there. Benches are there to Sit, Relax and Enjoy the nature. We visited the place in the month of December, enjoyed without much crowd. Rest rooms and eateries are available . Vehicles can be parked on the roadside.

  • 3/5 Arvind K. 3 months ago on Google New
Ticket of 30 Rs for this location. You will a decent view of all peaks and green pastures. You need to climb up the hill about 300-400 meters. This place can be avoided and nothing major you will miss if you avoid this specially if the weather is hot.

Beautiful place. Loved it. Good Tourist Spot. Sunny when I visited there. But was wonderful. Kids loved it. No specific parking area, some specifically roadside and some parked 500m near a empty area. Roads leading there are a bit bumpy too. But once you are there, you'll be out of the world ☺️

A place with so much history of film shootings. Once you visit there you can clearly see why. The whole 360 view is very beautiful. The clouds and the fogs surrounding the area also creates a special effect which makes this small climb to the top totally worthwhile.

If you are in Ooty, then you should must visit this place. This place is very breathtaking. Greenery is all over the place, till the horizon you can see from your eyes. Temperature is very low there with strong wind . A lot of movies shooting happened at this place like Roja, Raja Hindustani etc. You need to buy tickets which worth 20 rs per person.

It is also named as shooting point. I visited this place while It is completely covered with fog, but I recommend to visit this place during sunny time as it showcase awesome view. To experience a nice view, it demands 5-10min trek and 20rs as a entry ticket charges. There is no parking facility available in and around this area, had to park on road side. There are restrooms available but it could have been maintained better.

Nice and must visit place. Great views and landscape. Dedicated parking, free of cost. However, TN charges to visit this place is 30, accepts cash and mobile NFC. Washroom facilities available. On the way adjacent to highway. Good for family visits, very crowded during weekends, usual queue for tickets (15 mins). Nice weather and can spend some good quality time with family and friends

  • 5/5 Ritu W. 9 months ago on Google
Loved this place. Vast and open with bright blue sky and it was pleasantly windy when we visited. Even though it was a bit crowded but we didn't feel it much as the place is too vast and open. It would be great to sit there either to watch a sunrise or sunset. Along with the entry fee, there are separate charges for dslr and video cameras. You need to park by the roadside. Please keep the place clean when you visit and follow me on Instagram @ritusangle for more travel content 👈🙏😊

Shooting point/pine forest is a beautiful, scenic location. The area is vast and you can walk around the meadow, valley, grassland, pine forest and along the riverside. This place has been the premise for many movies and is a beautiful place. But personally I did not enjoy the place because of it being crowded. The only way you can enjoy this beautiful location is if you find a place where there are no people and you can enjoy nature at its finest. It is best not to travel during summer, as the place gets hot, water in the river is less and it is no longer lush green. Pine forest is a delight, walking through the thick pine forest is a great experience, a feeling that cannot be explained. This place is a precious gem whose beauty is unparalleled. Good place to take photos, but you will need all the luck to find a frame without people in it. I would have given the place a five star, but because of the crowd, you won't be able to fully enjoy the place. Ticket price is nominal. There is horseback riding available here, they take you around the place, i will suggest to avoid it in summer. Also carry an umbrella! There is quite a lot of Street food available in this area, you can enjoy a juicy corn coated with chilly powder here. Over all a beautiful place, but avoid going here if it is too crowded. Parking can also be an issue, people park cars on the road side and leave, blocking the road. This is one of those tourist spots that you can combine with other tourist destination and make it a days trip. Please don't litter here nor feed the monkeys.

Lovely place, the view was amazing. Maybe leave a little earlier then planned or what maps says as the road to the location is also lovely and goes through many scenic spots that one can't enjoy if in a hurry or on a tight schedule. Watch out for cow pies!

The entry ticket is 30₹ and there is free parking available across the road. Please carry cash as they don’t UPI or card payment. There are few shops before the entrance where you can eat snacks. I would suggest to reach here before sunset so that you can take photos during sun set.

It's an open space small greeny hill that gives you a beautiful glimpse of a portion of Nilgiri hills and terrain. The season during Sep-Oct is really good. Mild whistling cloudy and a lot of mist. The soil could get slippery. The weather would be cold with a strong breeze or wind. The peak is a good spot for a nice photo shoot and a wonderful view of the adjoining hills. View from the top during summer could be good as well and the climb would definitely be easier due to dry soil. There are several shops that sell hot groundnut and corn. It would be difficult for senior citizens to walk up the hill but one can try to venture the adjoining road to get some glimpse of the beautiful view.

Wenlock Downs is a nice mountain trail showcasing a panoramic 360° view of all the nearby mountains and valleys. It is a popular shooting spot where many films have been taken. It is just an uphill climbing offering some beautiful frames ideal for filming and taking pictures beyond which there is nothing much to explore. Recommended only for those who love to take good pictures with nature's beauty as the backdrop.

One of the best places in ooty for getting a great lush green view of the surrounding mountains and also a setting of quaint little village situated between those mountains.
