This 95 acres lake is an amazing spot for your blissful evenings, this huge lake with developed miyawaki forest(230+ plant species) by the volunteers hosts various migrating birds(149 species of birds) and being home for varied flora and fauna. This is one important nesting and breeding spots for billed pelicans in the city. This is an ideal location for bird watching, cycling, plantation, sunset and more. Fishing is also being verymuch active in this lake. Must visit spot for kids to learn biodiversity and beauty of nature.

The 90acres lake holds a home for various species of flora and fauna. The lake was driedup for 12years with little to nil water due to encroachments on the water inlet canal. The lake is now back to its old form with water brimming to its full level, thanks to NGO(Kovai kulangal pathukappu amaipu) who worked on the fields to get water back to the lake. The NGO also conducts many activities along the lake banks like creating miyawaki forests, butterfly park and herbal plants. Interested people can volunteer with the team on every Sunday.

Myself with my friend visited the lake 4 months before for planting tree plants by Vanam foundation. Infact it is moderately big lake . If it is filled almost full Vellalore area ground water level increase.
