I have visited the Aravind Eye Hospital multiple times and can confidently say that it is one of the best hospitals in South India. The hospital runs in a very systematic way and is fully equipped with all the scanning facilities you may need. This saves you the hassle of going to any other lab for tests. Moreover, the treatment is affordable and the doctors are some of the best in the field. One of the highlights of the hospital is the good hygiene canteen that serves tasty food at a very cheap price. There are also many cafes available on different levels which serve good food and are very hygienic. Additionally, there is a pharmacy available at the entrance where you can purchase any medications you may need. If you are a first-time visitor, it's important to keep a few things in mind. Coimbathoor railway station and Podanur Junction railway station are the nearest railway stations. However, if you are looking for retiring rooms, you will only find them at Coimbathoor Railway Station for around 500 rupees for a non-AC room. If you are looking for a standard or premium hotel, I recommend Hotel Jump in & Out. You can take an auto rickshaw from either railway station, and they usually charge between 300 to 500 rupees per trip. At night, the rates increase to 500 rupees. However, I have found that most auto rickshaw drivers are cooperative and helpful. When you arrive at the hospital, you need to reach early at 7:00 a.m. to register. After paying Rs. 100, you will get a card, and the sisters will assist you with the check-up. While most of the sisters are helpful, I have had some unpleasant experiences with disrespectful and uncooperative ones. If you encounter any problems, you can rush to the enquiry counter at the entrance, where they will assist you. I also recommend asking for Senior Doctor Geetha, who was very helpful and cleared all my doubts regarding my wife's lasik treatment. Overall, Aravind Eye Hospital is an excellent hospital, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for affordable and high-quality eye treatment. The staff is generally helpful, and the facilities are clean and well-maintained. Don't forget to visit the canteen for tasty and hygienic food! Feel free to ask your doubts via google map itself, vote my review "helpful" and feel free to follow me, on google map. - Midhun Nileshwar

Went for Paediatric check up. Too much rush.. But they handled well. All the nurses were kind with patients even though they were busy. Doctors were very well trained and treating kids good. Only drawback is it takes lots of time for all the process. Some way they need to organize. Booked appointment thru phone ..but stil we need to insist them that we have appointment to get forward in waiting queue. Overall very good treatment and maintained cleanliness too. Canteen available. Ample parking. Toilets are clean. Registration fee Just 100 Rs. Very minimal fee.

A well known eye hospital serving people for many years now. Service: The hospital is doing a great service to the people especially poor citizens. Really appreciable. The eye check up just costs 100 rupees(for new registration) 5 star for their service. Location: Located in avanashi main road, just opposite to PSG Arts college. Right now since flyover work is going on it is little clumsy. Once flyover work gets completed it should be better. Parking: This is something every one should be aware of. Right now the parking is not within hospital area, rather if is 150 m away from hospital. So one need to drop people in hospital and go further and park. Then walk back to hospital which is a pain for many people. Not sure how long this setup. Crowd: I really don't understand why hospital has not taken any action on this. Almost every day it is over crowded and people are struggling inside hospital. There are not enough chairs for out patients and most of the time people are fighting for chairs. I saw people were loosing their tempers and started fighting with staff for long waiting. I did eye check up and it literally took 10 mins for them to evaluate, however I had to wait in multiple counters and totally it took around 4 hours. I know Aravind eye hospital, they used to put drops and then evaluate but this time it didn't happen. I think hospital management really need to take an action against how to control this over crowd. Opticals: They also have opticals inside but frames are utter old designs and comparatively same price as outside. So there is no reason why one will buy here. You will get very good one outside and of course new design. Management need to take this also in consideration.

One of the best eye hospital's in south india Professional service, efficient doctors, good staff & competitive cost For the first timers- please reach the hospital by 7 am in the morning, getting late will lead to more crowds making the consultation late, note to be on the Que inside in case you reach before the hospital opens. Once you get token, then you will be guided by the attenders to each department where you required to get consulted The hospital is clean. There is enough parking facility and a decent canteen inside One de-merit noted is you wont get the detailed report of your diagnosis which leads to difficulty for continued consultation if you plan to switch hospitals

Arvind Hospital is the biggest eye hospital I have ever seen. I have heard that the decision here is final. The most important thing here is that the fee is only Rs 100 per person. Those in Tamil Nadu will be given free treatment. There is a separate section for children and adults. There is also a small park specially prepared for children to play. All eye related things like glasses, scanning, medicine and tests are available in this hospital itself. There is a special fee for eye scanning only. Also there are many shops inside the hospital where you can get tea and snacks. Also the nurses here are very friendly with the patients. They work without getting paid.

I have visited here many times for me and my family members. Such a nice and cool place. You never feel like a hospital. All the staffs has good manners, very helpful and cooperative. But you need to do something to handle the crowd. I have consulted 5 places and waited 1:30 hrs each place. Cafeterias available here but haven't enough cleanliness (maybe coz of the rush) restrooms were cleen except the ground floor. There are enough parking space available just 100 meter towards Avinashi road.

Arvind Hospital stands out as the largest eye care facility I've encountered. Notably, decisions made here are considered final. What's remarkable is the affordability, with a nominal fee of Rs 100 per person, and residents of Tamil Nadu are eligible for free treatment. The hospital provides a dedicated section for both children and adults, including a charming park designed for children's recreation. All-encompassing eye care services, from glasses to scans, medicines, and tests, are conveniently available within the hospital premises. There's a specific charge for eye scanning. Moreover, the hospital features various in-house shops offering tea and snacks. Beyond the exceptional facilities, the hospital's nursing staff deserves applause for their patient-friendly approach, working tirelessly even without compensation. Arvind Hospital emerges as a comprehensive and compassionate eye care center, setting a standard for accessibility and patient care.

Dear hospital management, kindly train your staff (especially nurses) on how to communicate with patients and attenders. Please let them know that PATIENT CARE is the most important thing in nursing profession. Everyone knows its a stressful job but what is the use if they are lacking primary skills? Patients had to suffer because of your impolite, ill-mannered staff! Our recent terrible experience in pediatric ward made us firmly decide not to visit Aravind Hospital again. We were not given proper details and on top of that got rude responses from the nurses! They act as if there are the owners and we are their servants. Such a bad attitude shown by the nurses! And there is no common understanding on the system/procedure among the staff from various departments, we received some information at reception which was different from what we were told in pediatric department. At last, there is no cleanliness at all in the hospital! From outside its one of the renowned hospital in Coimbatore but from inside it's WORST WORST WORST!!!

I went for my regular eye checkup and power checkup for my 7yr daughter. From registration till we get our spectacles they have a very clear procedure. All the staffs are polite and so active. Consultation fee was just Rs.100. Though I went just for my regular checkup, I was directed to doctor consultation. Highly satisfied with their services. 👍

I visited this hospital on 27 jan 2024 with my brother had an unfortunate bad behaviour with the security staff. While attempting to inquire about token timing, we were met with extreme rudeness and unwarranted shouting from the security personnel. We were not respond first time. Despite our polite approach, the lack of manners and inappropriate behavior made the experience highly uncomfortable. I strongly urge the hospital to take action, as such behavior shouldn't spoil the day for those seeking assistance. Please consider your clients' situations and ensure staff are trained in dealing with people respectfully. This incident significantly affected my day negatively.

It was a worst experience. Appointment issue: I went to 8am and registered the appointment and they never called for a consultation . Whenever I enquire with them, they ask us to wait. I lost my patience after one hour and shouted then one lady went inside and checked the form and told that form was missed. They never called in the basis of token/registration number. It is a crowded place and full of Kerala state people Hygiene: Toilet is not hygiene Registration fee: Rs.100 Process: They took multiple scans and send us to counselling. The counsellor was a lady and she did not interested in explain the full treatment details and keep on asking for surgery date. If you say insurance and they will send you to another place and ask to wait for a long time. Instead of explaining the insurance process they were asking to send all the details for start insurance claims They never allow you to see the record and all the record they keep with themselves. So, you don’t know what the scans they took and what was the result. If you are person who don’t want to know anything about your disease and agree whatever they say then this is the right hospital for you. It was a total disappointment for me.

Had cornea surgery from here. One month check-up also done. Only cost ₹1500 for surgery, basically ₹1000 is for surgery and ₹500 for anesthesia, as suffering with heart disease it is compulsory to take anesthesia for surgery. For the same surgery private players are charging 20K+. But as all know there is over crowded, so you need to be reach atleast by 6AM to get in early. The door will opens only on 7 AM. Usually it takes 2 hour's for a normal consultation. Recommendable for Cornea surgery.

Aravind eye hospital is very famous for their quality treatment. They've highley specialised doctors Hudnreds of eye patiients visit this hospital everyday so this palce is always crowded. They are highly professional, no doubt. How ever they've to improbve patiioent management so that multiple hospital visits can be avoided, especially for people like us from Kerala. we've to travel long distance and stay in lodges, lot of time and money can be saved My cousin had his first operation in Dec 2021 1st week. After that they gave him an apointment for second operation after 1 week. But they didnt do it that day and told him to come after 1 week. I also accompanied him on the 3rd visit. We reached the hospital and then they told to come after 2 days. However the operation was done succesfully. I thank all the doctors and staff. The hospital is very clean, have parking facility etc. They've a meditaion hall. They run veg canteen which provide quality foods at affordable price. (Edited)

Hello Sir, I came to my mother for an eye check last week. Every staffs, nurse and doctors in the hospital was very helpful. But it would be sufficient if an one assistant with the patient was admitted to the hospital, There is no seats for other patients because in seat sit as many of his family come with one patient. It would be nice to have a little consideration of this As well as the ground floor staff all work well and work a little slowly and carelessly on the first floor Thank you

"Aravindan Eye Hospital is renowned as one of the top hospitals in South India. While it can get crowded, the longer waiting times are a testament to its popularity. During my visit, I arrived at 8:30 in the morning and departed at 3:30 in the afternoon, but I found the efficient and friendly hospital staff to be a positive aspect. The only downside is the limited parking space."

It is an average Eye care Hospital which provide eye care facilities for a reasonable price range. But most of their staffs and some doctors don't have a proper service attitude towards their patients. They also lack transparency in their appointment calling system.

Very crowded. Not providing proper token system. We have to wait for a long time. If we come here for consultation, we should spend one day here. Treatment cost is low. But not providing proper tokens and not calling the names loudly. We could not find how many people are waiting before us. The staffs working here are serving to their known people only.

One of the best eye hospitals in India!! I had eye surgery here, truly amazing services experienced from best doctors and teams, Only the thing is we have to wait minimum half an hour to 1 hour in each sections by completing their consulting procedures! Have good canteens, coffee shops inside and ATM nearby gate.

We went on 29 th October 2021 for my Mrs eye check up. Tamil peoples were ignored there by nurses. Because most of the nurses are malayalam. So they show partiality to tamil patients. If the malayalam people can come the nurses go with them and ask name then put the file in the top to see the doctor. We were waiting 3 hours to see the doctor after put eye drops( that was nearly 3 hours) . We asked the nurses many time. But there is no correct answer for late.On that day we reached there at 11am.we return at 5 pm only. My opinion nowadays Aravind hospital is a partiality hospital. We will see later the management take what decision about this issue.

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a distressing incident I experienced on 27th October 2023 at your hospital New patient registration counter involving the rude behavior of one of your staff. I would like to provide a detailed account of the incident for your reference. On the aforementioned date, at approximately 08:45 am to 09:15 , I approached. don't know name of the staff at new patient registration counter. infront of me 5-6 persons taking registration and paying 100 Rupees change. when my turn retail amount i don't have. she behaving me badly and said whole kerala peoples are bringing 500 money and they have only keeping 500 with them i think she is crazy then why she is behaving like this. she said retail amount don't have camed now same thing done with whole your customers.but i saw retail she keep on a box. In kerala everyone not rich. poor people also living there. Please solve this retail cash issue as soon as possible this must will be help full for everyone .i want to inform this incident to the management. if you're staff are behaving like this how will come in future for your service. They follow a very bad old system of patient management, which make them look very busy, sisters will keep on roaming here and there calling the patient names who are not available, show too busy but actually nothing happening. They doent know how to handle crowd. Better their management show go and see what other hospital follows.

Worst customer service, Need to improve the Nurse training & communication skills. even No proper communication between the doctors & nurse. We trust Aravind Eye Hospital group for past 17 years. Unfortunately my last visit on Coimbatore branch was unsatisfied. I directly 100% recommend to visit Aravind Eye hospital Madurai. Where as well qualified nurses & doctors available.

Aravind Management, On 30 September, 2023 (Saturday) because of the despicable and inattentive behaviour of the staff working in the Avinashi Road Branch in Coimbatore a total of 2.5 hours was wasted without any further advancement on the eye check up procedures. The nurses responsible did not know where the respective rooms were and misdirected the patient to wrong rooms leading to a delay in the healthcare services. Completely unacceptable and incorrigible behaviour and attitude shown by the staff and faculty. The service quality has drastically declined. Hope necessary actions are taken soon.

We visited Aravind Eye Hospital today morn around 10.30 am with appointment for 11 am.. There was a massive crowd as expected but the flow was very smooth and lots of lady assistants, leading everyone to the right test facilities and Drs. Moving from one department to another was also smooth, again with assistants. At every stage they were there and very polite. Of course it takes time for such a big crowd to be catered to . we did read the reviews before visiting there, but on the contrary found it to be a very good experience. For the registration fee that they charge, this is a royal and a great humanitarian service. Just one request, there are fans near the Arabindo statue but on the other three sides there are none and it gets very uncomfortable to wait in those areas. It is less crowded around 2 pm. Its good time to visit the hospital.

The hospital offers excellent care at very affordable prices. I visited the hospital for a chalazion that needed a minor incisive procedure. Right from the registration to consultation with the ophthalmologist to the surgery was very smooth and efficient. The staff is very efficient and polite. Doctors were knowledgeable and offered excellent experience. I would highly recommend this hospital for all visual/ocular needs.

One of the best managed Eye hospitals from the administrative staff to doctors and nurses. Either be available by 6am when hospital opens or come here post noon. Once you register and token is issued nurses are available to help you go through various stages of checkups and examinations before you end up to the doctor by which time all your report is at the doctor. And the fee is just 100rs. As of now visitor parking is available 400 meters away since the place is currently undergoing modernisation. But there are security to help you at every place. The canteen is not that big but they have amazing food, clean and an array of food items. There are also small 2-3 tea or coffee shops in the floors to get you some quick South Indian veg snacks and affordable also. With the latest machinery and equipment and amazing service on ground by all staff from patient coordinators to nurse and doctors everyone contributes the hospital to be one of the best.

We are regularly visiting Aravind Hospital at Madurai for my mother’s Retinal treatment. The Retina department of Madurai is doing a great job. All the doctors, Nurses and support staff are very kind and responsive. As I am residing in Coimbatore and my mother came to Coimbatore, I have contacted Aravind Coimbatore (Avinashi Road) and they confirmed that we can continue the follow up in Coimbatore. But, the experience for us in Coimbatore was terrible. In Madurai, the instructions were very clear and easy for us to follow. Whereas in Coimbatore there are lot of mess ups in the procedure. Doctor suggested to take retinal injection for right eye and undergo for cataract surgery for left eye. We waited around 3.5 hours to fix the appointment. After this long waiting, the counselling team told that appointment can’t be fixed today as she has to take the injection in another eye. I don’t know why they haven’t told this earlier. After this terrible experience, my mother had another shocking experience in the injection room that the doctors and nurses were playing movie songs while giving the injection. How dare to play songs when they have to be pay utmost concentration. My mother is having severe pain in her eyes and she denied to undergo for surgery at Coimbatore because of their irresponsible behavior. Can the management takes any remedial action?

Worst Management at the Free Eye Operation service. The staffs are ignorant and arrogant. They make a process but they don't follow it. They provide a token system but they don't have to responsibility to follow it. They shuffled the application and start calling random names. The person who came by 5.45 have to wait till 7 and see a person came by 6.50 go in first because of the mistake by the staffs. When asked they respond rude. Also they don't take the responsibility to correct thier mistake, just because it is free service. I am giving one start just appreciating the Free Eye Operation scheme. But very disappointed with the staff behavior.

I wish to give more stars but due to a bitter experience...! On the day of My Dad's Cataract surgery in Aravind Eye hospital, Nurses and reception staff made us to wait for more than two hours. Mistake was at insurance office backlog. It was a mistake from hospital's side. 1. My dad is a heart patient. 2. Blood pressure too. 3. For the sake of surgery he was not on medication for a week. 4. Anxiety over surgery was another pressure. While the tension was higher, hospital made us to wait for two hours for the mistake was ours. I also able to notice the difference of efficiency between nurses. During the first visit for consultancy, group of nurses were very good. During the second visit, at many places we had to wait unwantedly. Counseling counter really testing our patience. Number of Counseling doctors are really not enough for the crowd of patients the hospital meets on daily basis.

Worst experience, Treating the Patient and their Attenders in the worst manner. Attenders are not even allowed to go inside to book appointment. The Watchman says they follows managements instructions only and behaving rudely with the patients and the attenders. They make people wait in open space outside. What I don't understand is how the patient who is suffering can endure their suffering and do things like making appointments and getting the doctor 's consultation on their own which some can and some cannot that's why the attenders come to help them and here they are making the patient to make the appointment and walk in while the attenders who come to help them but are made to wait outside the premises. I don't know if it's a good thing to sent the patient who has eye issues to walk on their own inside without even allowing a attender to assist them. "Imagine how would a person with a blury vision would feel walking alone inside". The Watchman' s response was "We are following management's instruction". At one point I saw the watchman (Mr.Muthukaruppan)just talking rude for a person with a kid and as he walked a bit and he responded to that watchman and walked back but the watchman keeps on talking in a manner of provoking and insulting him that too in front of his kid and all those people who are waiting there. Treating the Patients and their Attenders in this manner just spoils the Hospital hard gained reputation I don't know if all these things are brought to management notice. Hope it does and really hope some action is taken against this issues.
