Very good place to enjoy the nature's gift. The place was neatly maintained, had cement steps to reach. Couple of changing rooms were also there. There is iron rods/barricades installed for safely, but gaps can be little closer done, since it's easy that even big children can get through that. I found a lot of plastic bottles, diapers etc littered all over the place. The nature's gift is great, the govt has done a decent facilities. Finally it's upto us/tourists to maintain the beauty of the place. No matter in blaming others for this state. Love nature, save nature. On the way to Valparai forest we get this Monkey waterfalls. Parking available. Entry and parking fee is charged. A small temple is available at the entrance and less then 100 steps we reach the waterfalls. Too many monkeys. If you wish you can play in waterfalls. Iron fense is placed for the safety of tourist. Changing room available. No food or water. Carry them. Do not litter.

Wonderful place towards Valparai road, and 6kms distance from aliyar dam. Before entering to this area forest check post is there and we have to pay vehicle and each person amount separately after that in falls area we have to pay separately to enter with or without bath. They are collecting so much amount still some improvements needed in falls area, got urinal smell and dressing rooms should be maintain well. Outside restroom also not good need to maintain some hygiene.

Great place to spend an hour amongst the trees, monkeys and water. This is located on the main road to Valparai and is a short distance by car from the forest checkpost at the start of the tiger reserve. You need to pay 50/- per person as entry fee to proceed to Valparai or any place in between, as in December 2021. There is sufficient parking space for buses and cars. Toilet facilities are available at the entrance, though not very clean. You can reach the falls within about 5 minutes from the parking lot. The waterfall is not very high and you can comfortably bath in it and there is sufficient volume of water except in summers. There is a sort of a small pool that has formed a few meters away from the waterfall and good enough for kids to play in. There are monkeys, so just watch out a bit. Overall, good place to spend some time.

A small stop en route to more interesting places but it holds on its own... ample parking albeit poorly maintained, safety rails near the waterfall but of makeshift nature, make-do changing rooms etc. We visited during a light drizzle and the overall impact was chilling, literally, as the water was so cold!

Wow ! This place so nice Monkey Falls is very close to Pollachi and near Aliyaar dam. It is a famous tourist attraction with a water falls within reach from road and is a safe place except in monsoon time. There is also a small temple. The mountain view is pleasant and is a short stop over in travel to Anaimalai or Vaalpaarai.Good place for bath (provide you have water). It’s a small falls and hence a nice place for kids as well to get wet. If you not planning to get wet, you can skip it as the view as such is not any great. Plus, while travelling from polachi, this comes after the police check post and need to pay to cross over. Closes by 4pm by rule.It is really nice to have a bath at this falls. The place is mostly crowded. Though the facility to change dress for ladies is a minimum still, people enjoy having a bath in this fall. Just be careful of the slippery rocks. Kids can also enjoy in the shallow water below the falls.Monkey Falls is very close to Pollachi and near Aliyaar dam. At the time of climbing from plain it is there. From the road it cannot be seen. Just enter inside, we can enjoy the beauty of water falls. Many people used to take bath in falls. enjoyed a lot with friends

Worth visiting if you’re a nature lover or a photographer. A good waterfall, there with be charges for entry and parking on main gate before 100-200 metres of the entrance to the waterfall. Recommend for one day well weekend place, avoid going on Saturday and Sunday, there will be more crowded. Do not carry plastic water bottles, it’s not allowed.

Monkey falls also known as kaviyaruvi. Located on the foothills of Valparai after cross the forest 🌳 check post. This beautiful greenery filled falls is a seasonal waterfalls, where we can enjoy with clear natural water during winter and spring season (November to February) and during the occasional rainfall period. Very neat and clear, less steps, near to the main ghat road. RECENTLY FOREST DEPARTMENT RENOVATED this falls area. So they charge entry ticket for each individual according to the age slab. THEY HAVE DRESS CHANGE ROOM for both genders. Recommended for family enjoyment. Water is clear and clean. Forest department is maintaining it too. AVOID PLASTIC, SOAP , SHAMPOO Usage to maintain as it is. Save nature. Live it . ENJOY IT. Have happy life 😄🎉

Refreshing waterfall with gorgeous view in Monsoon and till Oct-Nov. You can enjoy directly under waterfall or dip in small pools as the water flows or walk around and chase butterflies, insects and reptiles. Just few metres around the falls, you can have beautiful view of the river. Reach early to avoid crowds reaching, especially on weekends. Ample parking space available at the entrance.

fantastic and very pure water quality. safe for kids also. natural and has medicinal properties. parking area available but may get full if crowded too much. sometimes they may close if heavy water flow which is not safe. unfortunately no contacts available to phone call for checking if water flow is normal and allowed for visitors or not. this is controlled by Anamalai tiger reserve forest government, has entry fee, parking fee and Valparai 40 km ghat road which has around 40 hairpin bends if we want to go up after monkey water falls. I visited on 7 Jan 2023. Today 15th July 2023 they opened for public, it was closed since 6 months. I will keep posting when I visited date and good water falls, on 05 Jul 2023, 19 Aug 2023, 2 sep 2023 (less water but enough to bath & enjoy), 9 sep 2023.

I recently took a road trip to the Monkey Falls. Once I reached the reserved area, I had to purchase two entry tickets - one for the forest entry and the other for the monkey falls entry. The tickets were reasonably priced. The breathtaking views, the playful monkeys, and the refreshing waterfall make it a perfect destination for a day trip. So, if you're planning your next road trip, don't forget to add this gem to your list. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Suitable place for families and friends. They have decent parking space for vehicles. Paid rest room service, surprised over the maintenance and cleanliness. Separate dress changing room for Men and Women. It is a place where you can spend some quality time. Getting drenched under the water fall is very relaxing and soul soothing. Strangely I felt very fresh and active. I'd recommend this place to my families and friends.

Fantastic spot to spend a day. Ice cold waterfall where u can just have fun standing beneath it. But beware of the monkeys around and don't carry any food items in your hand, they are very smart enough to pick it away from you.

Just a walkable distance from the road around 200 meters. Falls is neatly maintained though some places are bit slippery. Force of the water is quite good even the elderly people can enjoy. There is a place for changing clothes which is not maintained properly and full of cigarettes smell inside. Entry fee for the falls is on the higher side. Per person entry fee is ₹80 and for car parking its ₹50.

Nice waterfalls. A small walk from the entrance. Parking is on the opposite side of the falls. There is changing room also for men and women (separate), albeit not very clean. You have to get ticket for Rs 70 per head at the entrance of the falls. Avoid holiday's as there are big rush . The water is cold.

Awesome waterfalls, safe and clean. Kids can enjoy without any fear. Nice place for outing. Carry your own food and water, very few stalls can be seen on the way. Parking is good and secure. Make sure you take extra clothes as the falls are equally tempting for both kids and adults. Enjoy the scenic beauty and play safe.

Enjoyed the trip to monkey falls. Just a caution the rocks lying on the edge of the waterfall is very slipper and people need to be very cautious. Also the entry ticket is to be taken at the main entrance itself only then you are allowed to enter the falls. All in all a one time visit is must.

This is located near pollachi just before going to Valparai. There are dressing rooms and washrooms available for men and women but won’t be clean . The water flow is good during all time not completely dried out. The entry fees has been increased despite having old ticket poster .There is no maintenance but still they collected fees for it. You can get food outside of the monkey falls. The people are allowed to falls from 7am to 4pm .

How is it? : Except the water level, the falls is good. Trekking level: A very very small trekking like 20-30 steps from the parking. The falls is roughly around 200 mtrs from parking. For friends: Friends group can enjoy, but there could be some disappointments in water level. For families: It is very safe for families. Recommended time to Bath: 7-8AM is the perfect time. You can bath freely. There won’t be any crowd. Fact: The name only is Monkey falls but you can rarely see monkeys.

Visit this dam after confirming whether water is there or not. There is seperate room for ladies dress changing. Aliyar view point is near to it. Beautiful place and enjoyable.

As the name says there will be lot of monkeys on this place. So be careful of your belongings while bathing here, the monkeys would take your bags and runoff while you are away. The falls is good and there is dress changing room for all but it smells bad. This place needs immediate maintenance there are iron rods and big screws all over the place near the falls which is a major safety issue.

We have to take tickets for monkey falls in the checkpost below which includes your vehicle pass and for yourself In case if you parked the bike in roadside beware of Monkeys since it will open the tank cover and will take the things inside the tank cover. Also be careful near waterfall since in some place it will make you to slip and there is a chance of acquiring injury. Monkey Falls is about 30 km from Pollachi. Refreshing Natural Water Falls about 6 km from Azhiyar Dam. Monkey Falls is located on road connecting Pollachi and Valparai and situated 85 kilometers from coimbatore

This place is around 80km from Coimbatore and 2 hours drive. At entry point, need to pay charges for people and camera. Located in dense forest but on main road. Beautiful place. Take towel and extra UG, you will definitely like to go into the fall. They have male/female changing rooms. Water is cold but enjoyable. It is hilly terrain with sharp turns, so better have driver with such experience. Separate parking. Lot of pure veg restaurants on route. Overall, a nice place to spend few hours eith friends/family.

The falls is not so big, it is a smaller one with average water stream. The access area is also smaller, If there is limited crowd then you can enjoy. Very close from the parking area, u don't need to walk for a long distance unlike other falls. Dress changing rooms for both men and women available is a plus point. No stalls or shops available near by. Carry all the required things.

I would not recommend visiting here for a fee. The tickets have to be purchased at the aliuar check post, Rs. 50 per person. The waterfall is quite small and the place is overcrowded on weekends with a number of people taking bath. We stepped in and out in 10 mins. It's much better to enjoy the views on the drive.

This is an amazing waterfall... Crystal clear flowing water. Nice place to spend a day. The changing room near the waterfall remains crowded, one can use the changing room at the parking space.

  • 4/5 Abrar A. 3 years ago on Google
Awesome waterfall where we can take our families to bath safely without any hazards. Previously the entrance fee was just rs.20 without any amenities. Now the forest department has given a facelift with proper steps, changing rooms for men nd women, side handrails along the path and hiked the entrance fee to rs.50 which still feels on the higher side. To enjoy nature rs.50 seems higher. If they justify by the amenities made, then it's their duty to maintain nature and serve public. The officials concerned should look into this....

Only 65 km away from the hustling and bustling city of Coimbatore is the peaceful Monkey Falls. Enveloped between evergreen forests and rocky cliffs, the alluring waterfall brings together the entire scenery. Anyone in earshot of the humming Monkey Waterfalls is inevitably drawn to these melodious sounds. The water swishes across the rocks joyfully and dives into a pool of water as clear as cellophane.

I went on 30.07.2023 (Sunday), the water flow is very good at the falls. In checkpost itself you need to get the ticket to enter into falls, per head it's 50 rupees. The additionally check post entry per head and vehicle entry is charged additionally, which is bit costly. Shampoo, oil or any other soap items not allowed at falls. A separate room for men and women is available at falls, the atmosphere was kept clean.

Monkey Falls, situated within the picturesque Anaimalai Hills of Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu, is a renowned natural attraction, particularly sought after during the summertime. Positioned at a distance of approximately 30 kilometers from Pollachi and a mere 6 kilometers from Aliyar Dam, this cascade boasts a height of around 100 feet, gracefully descending over a rocky precipice into a crystalline pool of water. The invigorating and cool waters of Monkey Falls offer a delightful setting for swimming, leisure, and the appreciation of its captivating surroundings. Visitors should be mindful of the few descending steps leading to the pool area, which can be slippery. Additionally, it is advisable to exercise caution regarding personal belongings, as a local population of monkeys inhabits the vicinity. Monkey Falls reveals its most awe-inspiring beauty during the monsoon season, when water levels surge to their peak. Nevertheless, its allure persists throughout the summer, characterized by cooler waters and reduced crowds. Here are some valuable tips for an enriching visit to Monkey Falls: Ensure you wear appropriate, water-resistant footwear for traversing the area. If you intend to partake in swimming activities, remember to bring along a swimsuit. Exercise caution when navigating the potentially slippery rocks. Maintain vigilance over your possessions due to the presence of resident monkeys. Opt for a visit during the monsoon season for the most impressive water levels and cascading display. In summary, Monkey Falls stands as a captivating and rejuvenating haven for nature enthusiasts. It offers a welcome respite from the heat and presents an opportunity to immerse oneself in the pristine splendor of the Anaimalai Hills. Additional noteworthy details about Monkey Falls include: The falls derive their name from the abundant population of bonnet macaques inhabiting the vicinity. As Monkey Falls is situated within a forest reserve, visitors are kindly urged to display due respect for the environment. A nominal entrance fee is levied for access to the falls. Various food stalls and dining establishments are conveniently located in close proximity to the falls for visitors' convenience.

If you are going to Valparai then don’t go here because you need to spend 50 rupees for each person ( not worth - you can enjoy the dip at koolangal river in Valparai ) . Rupees 50 not worth for this Waterfalls 🤣🤣🤣 ( Valparai forest dept default entrance fees was 50 Rupees only )

  • 4/5 Deepesh P C. 7 months ago on Google
Monkey falls is a small waterfall located at the start of the Valparai churam road. You need to take a entry ticket from forest department at the start of the wildlife entry road and then a separate ticket for monkey falls at the start of the waterfalls entry. There is a decent amount of parking space available for those going to monkey falls. The waterfall itself is very small but is good enough for a dip in the water. There is changing room available for both gents and ladies. Watch out for the rocks in the water though. They are really slippery and be careful while walking through them.

  • 5/5 Abishek P. 6 months ago on Google
Visiting this waterfall is a treat for nature lovers. The cascading water offers a picturesque view, making it a perfect spot for relaxation and photography. However, be prepared for the cold water temperature if you decide to take a dip. Keep in mind that there is an entry fee to access this natural beauty, which is worth it for the experience. It's advisable to check the fee and opening hours in advance to plan your visit accordingly. Overall, it's a lovely place to connect with nature, unwind, and enjoy the tranquil ambiance, but do remember to bring some extra layers for the cold water.
