Positives: Beach is very clean. Not many hawkers to disturb you. It's a long beach so ideally suited for morning/evening walk. Negatives: 1. Absolutely no civic amenities. If you are coming here from long way away, make sure that you stop at some decent hotel on the highway for a toilet/food break. 2. Very poor parking facilities. You can park about half a dozen vehicles, and there are at least half a dozen vehicles in the parking lot at all times. Which means you must park on the road which is already very narrow. And since this beach is getting quite popular, roadside parking too is a stressful affair. Overall a beach with very good potential, let down badly by very poor planning by authorities.

Marari Beach offers a better option for swimming compared to Alappuzha Beach. The somewhat calm and gentle waves make it a more suitable spot for those looking to enjoy a swim

A decent beach with nice enough food options. The water is clean and so is the beach. It's also not very crowded so u can enjoy the beach. There can be much more beach options available to the tourists. The beach is not very safe for deep water swimming as the waves are a bit rough

One of the best beaches near Alappuzha. Less crowded Beach. You can enjoy the nature. You will get the best sunset. You can go for a long walk. But in the morning time locals are using for open defecation. It was very much disappointed us when we went for a morning walk.

Visited the beach after years. This time I really feel the beach lost its charm. The main attraction of marari beach was surrounded with coconut trees. But now street vendors take over the beach and put stalls right in front of beautiful trees. Beach is not clean stray dogs are also walking through the beach that quiet disturbance for people. Parking is big headache. Parking space is so congested. And we need to manage parking our vehicles road side. Which cause huge traffic jam during the peak hours and weekends.

One of the cleanest beaches I have visited in India. Wasnโ€™t too crowded even in the last week of December. Ample of police and lifeguard presence which gives a good sense of security for people travelling with family. Good to visit if you are around. ๐Ÿค

One of top tourist attractions thanks to its glistening sands and crystal clear waters. Watching sunrise and sunset here is quite a romantic experience that couples would love to enjoy. The place is rated as one of the Worldโ€™s Top five Hammock Beaches by theย National Geographic Survey.

Best maintained beach. A true beach feels with all the coconut trees around there and relaxing chairs. If you need relaxing chairs there you need to pay. We can even get into water upto some extinct as waves are not that much high. Better place to enjoy and have some peaceful time.

Marari beach is a kind of beach which has unique beauty in it. Having so many coconut trees on the beach gives a great atmosphere there. Seatings with shades are available there which has small rents. Single road is there for to reach the main area of beach and parking space are on the way towards the beach. Parking on sides the main road to beach creates unsuall traffic blocks for long time periods. Ice cream stalls are there on the beach. Not a large beach but a good place to enjoy and relax with family and friends.

Beach is good, but entry is restricted due to covid. Dec 12 2020 Edit : Beach is open for tourists... too much rush during the weekends..so kindly avoid parking your cars all the way near to the beach.. park it 500 mtr before and walk all the way to the beach.

Amazing is the word that comes out of my mind when I think about the experience at marari beach . Just a short distance away from the railway station. The beach is so clean and has been brilliantly maintained by the people of that place . No unnecessary rush all good vibes with high tides . One should at least visit this place once in his life

This beach is very calm and less crowded than Alleppey beach. We visited this on 31st December, 2013. The beach is well maintained and very clean the white sand high tides and beautiful sunset. The washrooms and parking space are available. Although food options were limited. Shacks are not there instead they had chairs and umbrella.

It's a beautiful long beach for morning and evening walk . Beach looks pretty much clean compared to nearby beaches but the parking space is very bad during holidays and weekends it's a mess due to heavy rush. Apart from the parking problem beach is good with so many local cafe for tea and evening snacks .

I am not writing this review for kuzhupilly beach, but a place around 2km from there. This spot that we found was so secluded that no one was there except for two locals who were fishing as you can see in the photos. The actual beach was so crowded that we couldn't find place for parking. This new place had nice view and it was peaceful. If ever you are planning to come here, there are many other spots like this around Kuzhupilly/Cherai beach.

As compared to other beaches, this one is almost a clean one. Preffered time is early morning because there is no rush and you can spend some time peacefully. Watch out for human stool out on the shore. I prefer Kattoor beach as it is also a nice place to spend some time.

GREEAT for couples, families &/or people of all ages. Amazing beach and views, eventually ended up staying longer than I planned here. Be careful of the waves and do not underestimate them. It was kinda sad that there were no cocktail bars/ beach lounges to enjoy the amazing view with a cold drink. Some snacks and nonalcoholic beverages (hot and cold) can be easily found at Kiosks along the beach.

Nice place for family and solo hangout in weekends . The place is such a beautiful greenery which made by plenty of coconut trees surfaced on the beach. Small snacks shops & Ice cream parlours are there. Peddle-boat service are temporarily closed now. Parking problem is persistent issue of peak pulls on weekends.

Marari Beach is the perfect base for those wanting to combine the beach with Keralaโ€™s backwaters, which are the main reason for tourists to visit the state. It is just under 100 kilometers from the city of Kochi. You can happily relax there and just enjoy the atmosphere. Regular rainfall means the vegetation is lush. The Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is definitely worth a trip and you can watch the locals making a variety of things from coir โ€“ the fibrous cover on coconuts.

I loved the place, no one was there except us, that was the major highlight even though Covid 19 has drastically decreased the restrictions are still being followed over there i think. when all the people back the vibe at the place will be exceptional. I personally loved the placed and definitely go there some other time for sure. The shacks/shops are completely closed and the climate was a bit gloomy. Every thing will be back to normal i hope.

Marari Beach is the best beach in Alleppey. A true beach feel with the coconut trees around there and relaxing chairs. Stunning view of the sea, much more beautiful than the Alleppey beach with clean blue waters. Neat and well-maintained beach, one can enjoy both sunrise and sunset views. If you need relaxing chairs there you need to pay. We can even get into water up to some extent as waves are not that high. It is peaceful and less crowded, providing an ideal spot to enjoy nature and take long walks. Even with a lot of people, you won't feel it to be crowded as there are no fun activities being done here and mostly it's not crowded. Nearby shops offer snacks, ice cream, and other essentials, adding convenience to your beach visit. The beach is clean, making it suitable for a comfortable day out. Resorts and homestays nearby offer a convenient stay for those looking to extend their visit. You can find a few sunbeds available here, and beach umbrellas and chairs are available for rent at an hourly rate of INR 100. While situated in Cherthala, it is around 15 kilometres from Alleppey, providing an accessible option for those in the area. This area is magical. You really feel like you're being embraced by a community of people who know one another, are with their families, and treat you as a part of their lives for all of your stay - the tuk tuk drivers, the homestay owners, the shop owners, the cafe people... Its such a beautiful place, filled with birds and animals, peaceful, beach clean-ups being run, and I hope it remains as unspoilt as possible in this world of increasing tourism. To remove any of the nature for more roads or buildings would be a travesty.

A nice beach with very less people and with a rustic charm. Marari was a fishing village and the local beach has since been changed to a nice, clean secluded beach for tourists to come and enjoy. The beach is clean and is very less crowded particularly in the first half of the day. The beach has few shacks but be warned that they only sell few fried snacks and nothing much. There are lots of nice clean homestays with direct access to beach. When staying in Marari, do stay in a beach side property and at night the silence of the village and the sound of the waves crashing onto the shore create a nice symphony. There is not much activities to do, but if you value privacy and some relaxation in idyllic settings, then this is the beach for you.

Lovely calm place It's a nice place to visit for families and couples. Not many people visit here which makes it calm. A slightly different beach with trees planted right on the coast. We can hangout and take photos on the shades of the trees. Public facilities are poor. Food stalls, restrooms, waste bins, life guards are not available.Approach road is very poor. If these problems can be overcome, this can be made one of the best tourist attractive beaches in Kerala.

This gem of a place is so beautiful that if there's a beach that I'll love visiting in Kerala, it must be this one! โค๏ธ This is place is underrated and that could be because people visit this place at the wrong times. The beach may appear crowded, but don't worry, the shoreline is long enough to find a place to spend time alone or with your loved ones without any disturbance. I recommend to visit this place either at dawn, where the crowd is significantly less, the dark blue clouds sooth you and the cool wind takes away all your stresses, or at sunset where your eyes will have a feast to enjoy. What makes this beach stand out are the trees on the shore which greatly enhances the ambience around you. Looking for a quick getaway during the weekends? Well, look no other place if you are living in Kerala. โ˜บ๏ธ

What an excellent transformation from a totally neglected beach by local tourists in 2008 when I last visited to the level now in 2021which is in par with Cherai beach in terms of crowd. It really needs to have more facility as traffic is like hell especially on holidays when I visited. As you may know, the roads to enter and exit are quite narrow just to allow 2 small cars. They need to place coastal guides or police to control mad crowd at beach people venture deep. Hope good care is taken here.

(Translated by Google) Nice beach you can lie under a palm tree and it wasn't too crowded (April 2018) but not really clean either. You can swim there or let the waves rock BUT it takes a lot of strength to get out of the water, as the pull back into the sea is neat. When I tried to get out (sporty adult woman), I still pulled my feet away a few times and scratched my knees, so don't try it with children. For us it was still a nice day trip (by motorcycle) from Cochin :) (Original) Schรถner Strand man kann unter einer Palme liegen und es ist nicht all zu voll gewesen (April 2018) allerdings auch nicht richtig sauber.

Lovely beach... We thought it might be closed due to restrictions but it wasn't... Nice beach though could have been cleaner... Not much crowd around... They had seating available with umbrellas on the beach... Some basic chai shops and folks selling kites as well... The Marari stretch of beaches are a little wilder due to the steepness and you can't tread deeper due to the same... With kids you need to be cautious all times... Overall a beautiful beach with white sandy stretch and worth a dip...

The prestine beach village is blessed with white sandy shoreline. The depth is shallow and comfortable for a quick dip. But not during bad weather and rough sea. The coconut groves, fisherman village nearby and the small tea and refreshment shops here make it ideal destination for a cycling break. There are numerous resorts and homestays by the beach.

Marari is a well maintained beach near Chertala. An evening visit to the beach can be a good stress buster. There are small stalls selling ice creams and other snacks. One can enjoy flying kites on the beach. Sea facing chairs have been placed to provide visitors a relaxing experience.

  • 4/5 poulami de s. 2 years ago on Google
Clean beach with a peaceful ambience. It has small shops exactly on the beach where you can enjoy your tea or coconut water with some local snacks specially at the time of sunset. The worst part is parking facility. Mostly you won't get space to park your car ,but if you get it it will take a long to move out from there which causes unnecessary traffic as the road to reach the beach is narrow.

  • 5/5 Dhanush R. 1 year ago on Google

Best beach near Alleppey!!! Although this beach is located in Cherthala, it's around 15kms from Alleppey. You can reach here by bus / auto. Marari beach is better than Alleppey beach. Enjoy snacks at Cafe Cloud 9 while on the beach. Local bus transport from Alleppey to Marari beach costs Rs 25 and auto will cost between Rs 300 - 400. Pros : 1) It's very clean as very less people come here. Alleppey one was not much clean as it's always crowded in the evening. 2) It's a long beach and has very good scenic views along it's path. 3) There aren't many hawkers or snack shops that would spoil the beauty. 4) It's a good place for morning / evening walks or to spend time with family. Cons : 1) Not very well connected with the city like Alleppey. That's the reason it's not much crowded. You will still get an auto. 2) Basic amenities like toilets are not available here. 3) Doesn't have much parking space. Advise : On weekends, after sunset, the road gets blocked as the road is narrow. So either leave early or very late.

Very nice and clean beach. But force of water is heavy. So be careful when you have kids with you while entering. Only drawback is there is enough parking space. So in public holidays to find a parking space is difficult.

  • 4/5 Linu Ld (. 11 months ago on Google
Great secluded beach in Alleppey. You can spend an evening relaxing to the sunset with the crowd unlike other nearby beaches. Keep in mind there arenโ€™t many restaurants or bar options nearby, you can visit nearby resorts and eat at their restaurant.

  • 5/5 sunny d. 10 months ago on Google
Clean beach and less crowd compare to others you can enjoy your time over here have some nice local icecream or an coconut water which will give you relaxed feel

It was a nice experience to share some beautiful moments with family. It was crowdy day due sunday evening, but my family enjoyed the atmosphere. Clean and neat beach side, nice sea view. We walked almost 500m to reach there due to crowded day, but enjoyed the ambience and kids were happy to spent some more time there, but we reached there bit late. Totally It was a great experience at Marari beach. About the beach: A decent beach with nice enough food options. The water is clean and so is the beach.
