A tourist spot in Thiruvananthapuram that lies sandwiched between the Arabian Sea and Veli Lake is Veli Beach..

Andhakaranazhi Beach is located in Alapuzha district. It is a coastal village under Cherthala Taluk near Thuravoor. The place is a mesmering one where the backwaters of Cherthala meet the Arabian Sea waters forming thick sand sediment. It's a calm & serene beach and it's always a fun to enjoy the sea and waves. A tall and majestic lighthouse adorn the beach.The beach had a long beach walkway extending deep into the beach waters. Now due to climate change and rising sea level, the waves hit very high till rock wall which has caused the rockwall to collapse and walking through the beach walkway is now dangerous with fear of getting taken away due to high waves. This place offers mesmerizing views of sunrise and sunset. There are some refreshing stall and shops available nearby for tea, cold drinks and snacks. Cool sea breeze & green landscapes is worth experiencing. A good option for beach Lovers though it's not very clean and some wastes can be found lying here and there. Parking fee is Rs. 20/- . A nearby bridge/stage offers excellent view of beach and cool sea breeze during early morning and evening hours. On the side of Chertala backwaters, fishermen can be found catching fish using chinese fish net.

It's a crowded but good sunset view, also you can take a long walks in the evening.

It was an excellent beach, however now the waters have reached more to the shore and depth is more and its turning out to be NOT so safe for dip. There is development for promoting it as a tourist spot ,but not sufficient. There is a parking fee of rs 20 while the vehicle can only be parked along roadside( highly undesirable). However a great place to hang out ,spend some quality time with friends and family.

An azhy similar to an isthmus, is a sand sedimentation formed by the constant action of seawater where the backwaters merge into the sea. Two barges having large mechanized shutters are erected near the north and south end of the azhy. These shutters, operated by traction motors, help to regulate the flow of saline water entering into the neighboring paddy fields of Thuravoor, Pattanakkad, Ezhupunna, and Kuthiathode panchayats connected to thbackwaters. Water is released into the sea by lifting these shutters to prevent flooding in these paddy fields during excessive rains. A tall and majestic lighthouse near the azhy stands like a signal tower guiding the seamen during night. This lighthouse was open to the public during Onam, but is restricted now. This place is also one of the popular locations for Malayalam film shoots.

This is one of the most underrated beach in Alleppey district, from here you can enjoy chinese fishing nets on the backwater canals. The only problem here is little polluted

A different experience. Beach with black sand and shells.Loved it. Great to visit during low tide evenings. However, the entry area of the beach needs to be kept clean.It is painful see all the trash and garbage scattered everywhere.

Best place to chillout with your friends. Best time would be between 4-6 pm. Long beach with wonderful view. Lots of boats were seen before entering the beach. Was a great view to see those boats together...

One of the best beaches in and around Ernakulam! Lot of area to walk on the beach... Children can play... Police patrolling to enhance the security... Nearby parking area available for two, three and four wheeler parking.... Beach was clean when visited in December 2020.... Nearby eateries are available but ... Watching Sun set is very pleasant! Not far from the highway... Recommended for tourists.

It's not full review and i wanted to show my frustration and anger towards the staff. By the time i went there the time was about 3/4 and even though the government reduced the restrictions they did not allow anyone to enter and the infrastructure is not properly maintained. They have done nothing to improve the current situation over there but has hope as the work was binging done. maybe next time i think. But i think i will never go back there. when i saw through the fence ii couldn't see anything other than what i have seen in most of the other beaches but had high hopes for it. No matter let's hope for the best.
