Dhanushkodi has no hotels of its own as only day visits are permitted to the place from Rameshwaram which is 14 km away. This place is also known as 'Ghost City' as the place was ruined in a cyclone back in the 60s. What's interesting about this place is that its India's southern most tip towards Sri Lanka, and still is home to the remains of Ram Sethu, the fabeled bridge from the Ramayana which connected India and Srilanka. This bridge makes Dhanushkodi a highly reverred place for Hindus. More than anything else, the place is a haven of spell binding beauty, with its ancient black structures jutting out from pristine white coral sands.

It lies at the tip of Rameshwaram where bay of Bengal and Indian ocean meet, is locally called as Arichal Munai. Strong winds were blowing on both sides and there are a lot of food vendors serving cut pineapple, cut watermelon, coconut water, ice cream etc. The water waves are strong and winds blow at high speeds. Lovely view.

Very good and clean beach. Untouched with very little human intervention. You can have sea food and fish. You can buy some artcraft and seashell from local seller

Place of beauty and beast. Such a lovely sea view. The tides are so intense here and beware of those while playing near the shore. The best time to visit is 4 PM - 6 PM or in the morning. Tip - Park the vehicle just 100 ft before the Arichal Munai so that you can avoid crowds, and enjoy the scenic & lovely place with your family or friends!

Dhanushkodi Beach, an enchanting slice of coastal beauty! With its pristine shores and tranquil waters, the surreal backdrop of the abandoned town added an eerie yet captivating touch to the experience. Exploring the remnants of the past while enjoying the untouched natural beauty was a unique and unforgettable adventure.

Dhanushkodi is an abandoned town at the south-eastern tip of Pamban Island of the state of Tamil Nadu in India.[1] It is south-east of Pamban and is about 24 kilometres (15 mi) west of Talaimannar in Sri Lanka. The town was destroyed during the 1964 Rameswaram cyclone and remains uninhabited in the aftermath. Today only a few vendors and restaurants can be seen at Dhanushkodi during the day along with the ruins of the long destroyed town

Quite beautiful and serene beach. It is quite crowded towards the end of the road, but it is worth spending time to see either the sunrise or sunset along with your family. The weather here can be really harsh during the daytime, so it is recommended to visit it either early in the morning or around sunset time.

One of India's most pristine tourist sites is Dhanushkodi Beach, which is located at the southernmost point of Rameshwaram. Dhanushkodi Beach is a popular destination that draws visitors from far and near. It is bordered by the Bay of Bengal on one side and the Gulf of Mannar on the other.

Dhanushkodi Beach is the nearest point to Srilanka and from where Lord Ram with his Vanar Sena built Ram Sethu and crossed the sea and conquered Ravan and brought back Mata Sita. Most historic place in India. Previously trains from mainland was operated upto Dhanushkodi town. The town was destroyed completely by the cyclone in 1964.

Main tourist attraction of Rameshwaram after the Temple. Absolutely Beautiful place to see the waters of Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean meet. The winds are strong, and if you are visiting on a low tide day you would be able to walk on the beach towards the right.

A very good place to visit. But it was very crowded. I was very upset after seeing plastic disposed of all the way on both sides of the road.

One of the top most tourist attractions of Dhanushkodi and Rameshwaram belt. Dhanushkodi is situated some 20km from the main Rameshwaram town. The roads leading to the dhanushkodi are beautifully covered with sands on both the sides and the beach is just clean. Dhanushkodi beach houses the abandoned church which became a ghost town since the tsunami hit the town. This place became uninhibited due to the natural calamity and the broken churches now have become tourist attractions.

The place in India where the road .You can feel the presence of the mighty Ram Setu. You will be driving for around a few kms over the road with the sea on both the sides. It is quite crowded at the main tourist spot....but the road stretch is so long enough that you will find a nice quiet beach on either side

Dhanushkodi beach is such an awesome place to visit. The roads connecting the seashore is amazing You don't get any mobile network at the end of the beach. Best time to visit is early morning or evening. The roads connecting to dhanuskodi will be closed after 5 pm everyday. There is no hotel facility in the locality.
