Rameshwaram beach is usually draws the pilgrims as Rameshwaram is one of the four major pilgrimage destinations of the Hindus. The place has a charisma that draws tourists to come and spend some time here. The waters here on the coastline are shallow and hence make it apt for bathing and taking walks along the shore line. This beach is also famous for the longest bridge that has ever been constructed over the sea. The beach here is serene and has an aura to catch anyone’s attention.

So I was searching for beaches near my hotel in rameshvaram and this location came. It was on walking distance and by the way who doesn't like to walk around sea and specially if the weather is overcast. So I decided to take a walk their, and it was worth it. The place is not a proper beach but you will enjoy this place. I sat their on the arc for around half an hour. Their is also a ferry point. You can enjoy a small ferry ride here for rs. 100 per person only. So it is a nice place.

Boasting breathtaking landscapes and tranquil atmosphere along with soft golden sands and turquoise blue waters, Sangumal Beach is a splendid tourist attraction perfect for all kinds of vacationers. Along with watching sunsets and sunrise, sunbathing is the next best activity to do on this beach. The beach also acts as a great source of livelihood for the fishermen, and because of this, the fishermen indulge in fishing activity every day. You could also enjoy going boating here to witness the stunning coral reefs. Sangumal Beach is also lined with huts and traditional cottages that add a unique beauty to the beach which attracts visitors from all over

SANGUMAL BEACH - RAMESWARAM Situated nearer to Agni Theertham - Extends upto Olaikkuda fishing village- Not fit for beach bathing since muddy – Boating available for sightseeing and coral reef viewing – A narrow village road upto Olaikkuda fishing village runs along the fringe - Vehicle parking not allowed upto a distance of 200 meteres- Walkway constructed with concrete benches at every 5 metres – Calm and serene - Nice to sit and relax in the evening – Walkable distance from the temple.

The evening breeze flowing over the beach + sightseeing is just awesome. There are small tea shops near the beach. All together it's a romantic location. From the hotel balcony we enjoyed the evening breeze.

Being at the beach usually means ditching your shoes and walking around barefoot. This gives you the perfect chance to try grounding (or earthing), which is walking barefoot in nature and absorbing energy from the Earth

Disappointed! It was no way closer to be called as beach. Some rock near the compound and some coconut trees and fishing boat amidst the bushes. I would not recommend. Hit the thumbs-up button if my review helped πŸ™‚. Thanks.

Sangumal beach is mostly famous for the water sports activities. We went there hoping that we will sit at the shore and enjoy the ocean horizon only to realise that there is actually no beach at all. The place is really commercialized and there is nothing around except for few residences and hotels. The water sports activities are fairly reasonable. Best place for water sports enthusiasts. It is around 15 minutes away from the main temple. It is advisable to walk from the boardwalk on Rameshwaram beach as the roads are really narrow.
