Visited this beach for experiencing Sunrise in the early morning. Very peaceful and calm beach and very neat and clean, a walkers' paradise. Besides the beach lies top hotels of Pondicherry with absolutely gorgeous views of the sea from the sea facing rooms of this hotel. Wishing to stay in one of these during my next trip to Pondicherry. The sunrise.from the beach was wonderful and enjoyed it to extreme.

It is one of the main tourist attraction of Pondicherry. The 1.5 km promenade is maintained very well with no hawkers around. Rock Beach and Gandhi statue are located here. It is very popular with tourists and locals. The French buildings opposite beach are very beautiful. The cars are not allowed here after 6 PM for the convenience of pedestrians. Worth visiting !!

Promenade beach also known as rock beach( bcoz of many rocks) is a popular spot among the tourists in pondicherry. It is a best place for morning or evening walk by beachside. The promenade walk is morethan one km stretch from war memorial to duplex park. You can enjoy sunset or sunrise by munching some snacks available Beachfront with loved ones. Any Vehicles movement is prohibited in this area so one must park their vehicle on the parallel road. This beach is very calm and clean which gives you nostalgic feel. Unlike other beaches it's not much safe to get into water ( to swim). There are many rocks on the beach so be careful if you are going near water just to play. If you are beach lover then enjoy the fresh breeze, beautiful sunrise/ sunset in this beach.

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Promenade Beach and was thoroughly impressed with the peaceful atmosphere of the location. The beach itself was clean and well-maintained, with soft, white sand and crystal clear water. The surrounding area was peaceful and quiet, with few tourists or other distractions. One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to relax and unwind in such a peaceful setting. The beach was the perfect place to sit and watch the waves, or to take a leisurely stroll along the water's edge. The scenery was breathtaking and the atmosphere was incredibly calming. In addition to the peaceful atmosphere, the Promenade Beach also had several amenities and facilities, including food stalls, restrooms, and beach rentals. These added to the convenience of the location, making it easy to spend a full day at the beach. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at the Promenade Beach and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing beach destination. The scenery is stunning and the atmosphere is unbeatable. I look forward to returning in the future.

Best beach to sit and relax, ideal time to visit this would be in the evening and late night. There are lot of rocks on the shore where the waves crash. There is also sandy shore as we go further but it’s polluted by humans. It’s definitely not a serene beach, but best enjoyed on the shore.

Well maintained beach on the Promenade east of White town with ample seating. Excellent sunrise views and lively even post sunset with cultural activities on the Promenade as the icing. Kargil war memorial, Mahatma Gandhi statue, French war memorial, Old Light house, Dupleix statue are all right next to the beach. Many good restaurants and hotels are also situated on the beach front.

Though the view was great specially the early morning view during sun rise, a place must visit to relax as you listen to the sounds of waves crashing and spend some quality time with your loved ones. One of the best places to spend your morning walk and a great place to relax during the evenings but it might get too crowded from time to time. Historical spots nearby to visit. Numerous dining options available. People have to stop littering around to keep it clean for everyone other than that you will see a lot of street dogs around but they are harmless.

One of the most crowded beaches of pondicherry is Promenade Beach More of an English feel, this beach seems interesting with most of the crowd being here daily. One can spend a lot of time here just talking to waves as the beach is on a low line and we have a slanting look of the beach. The street vendors with some street food also attracts us, and the hotels add up to the colorful evening..mark this as a must see destination on your next trip...

Beach road gives you brisk view of the sea on one side and lot of culinary food joints on the other side. You cannot get into the beach here while can have a walk on the sea bridge. Paradise beach near by has access to the beach and adjoining back waters. Driveable from Chennai with good road connectivity.

It is a clean beach situated near to White Town. It is a good place to spend time with your loved ones. You can have a walk from one end of beach to another beach seeing statues and other attractions.

A perfect spot to witness sunrise at Pondy. Lining the white town, this beach is filled with beauty and peace. Welk maintained. Restroom facilities are available. Lot of restaurants and cafe are available. But its better to reach the spot earlier, as it gets crowded after 7 by the regular walkers. Also number of dogs but they don't bother the tourists. The best part of this trip was to see the change at Promenade Beach. I always had the doubt about Gandhi beach for it was all rocks and no sand or beach. But this time it was so cool to see the beach and it surprises the mind as to how did they do it. Anybody coming now to Pondicherry will definitely have an even more pleasant experience.

The place is really soothing, with good cafes and restaurants near by. The best part is that it's an amazing place for shell collectors, there are a lot of shells easily available. The famous Baker Street, french colony is also near by. There is also a fairly maintained public loo in case you need to go.

The promenade flanked by Palm trees on one side & the sea facing villas made beautiful viewing. The light house and the Gandhi Statue added to its beauty.

Good place to watch the sunrise. The beach looks beautiful with all the black rocks but the cleanliness can be a bit better. People use the gaps in between the rocks as a dustbin which is really sad.

Very nice, well maintained beach. The whole walk throughout the beach was so good, full of scenic views. A tad disappointed that the pier is no more available coz heard the view of the coastline was amazing from there. Le Cafe was pretty good. The view was good and food was pretty nice.

It's a go to beach for all the visitors, as the location is next to white town. It will be over crowded on a weekend evening and one may find it difficult to find parking. The best part is the sidewalk which is vehicle free and can be used for jogging and strolling. It has a Mahatma Gandhi statue and French war memorial within its campus. Also there are few cafes and hotels where one can stay to enjoy the sea side stay.

It's a pleasant breezy sea face probably not an ideal beach side to enjoy the beach per se. Very very crowded on weekends/Holidays. Location wise proximity to white town gives access to popular eateries around. But nothing extremely exotic for someone who has been to beaches before. The light House and statue of mahatma gandhi are described as attractions. Can go once.

The beach was very dirty! We were surprised to see the amount of plastic in the sand!! Pondi is supposed to be plastic conscious.. There was not a single dustbin on the beach, which just made it easy for people to litter! Went with high expectations as it is the main beach of this old city.. It is shockingly disappointing!! :(
