This place is a total fraud! I, along with my friends, booked a room at Palan Beach Resort for two nights. We paid Rs.3000 in advance and got a confirmation mail almost two weeks prior to our estimated day of visit. Just a few hours before our check-in, they sent a message saying that there were no rooms available and asked us to stay at some other homestay that they chose. After all this, they even asked us to pay 4500 rupees again and that our current booking could be cancelled at no cost. Doesn't make any sense! My friends came to Kerala from Chennai only for this. Because all this happened, it gave us so much stress searching for a different place in the last minute and then we had to cancel our trip in the end as we didn't get any. It is not only unprofessional but also deceitful not to refund the amount even after trying to contact them multiple times and now they keep cutting the call. We can't help but suspect them as agents who mislead tourists with pictures and use them to find clients for paying guest houses. We didn't pay Palan to stay at some other place. We need our money back in full amount and also an explanation on why our booking got cancelled. Extremely disappointed! Would never recommend this place to anyone.

They don't clean the rooms everyday, we stayed for 4 days and they cleaned the room only on one day. The staff is rude and unprofessional especially the lady at the reception. Wifi is pretty much non existent in the top floor. The only good thing about this place is the sea view, but there are lots of other places you can stay at along the same road. Not worth the money.

Not worth for money. Me and my wife stayed there 7 days . Positives: 1.An amazing view from 2nd Floor Balcony. 2.A very good cleaning staff(Female). Only these two positives I saw there Negatives: 1.Over Priced 2.Not get Tax invoice. I stayed there 7 days. Almost 3500+ rupees I paid for Tax. I asked Tax invoice. But I didn’t get from there. 3.Staffs are not trained. They don’t know to handle customers. 4.They didn’t change blanket . We used one blanket for 7 days. Even they are not willing to change bedsheet and pillow cover. I strictly told them to change. 5.No TV in room 6.Telephone is dead. 7.Floor full of wet for two days. I don’t know the reason.They didn’t do any necessary arrangements. 8.Kettle is broken Please rectify all the drawbacks . As a customer I am not satisfied. Thank you

Disappointed experience . Definitely not worth for the money ..They don't have fan in room.. they kept a table fan thats also not working properly... Kettle was broken.. there was no power point that suits the kettle wire plug ..i wonder why did they keep then.. There is beach view but beach is not so close to balcony as shown in their pictures. They don't keep floor mates..they don't have more staffs .. only one person was there . .there are only around 4 to 5 rooms in the resort.. donot believe the photos...it's not looking the same.

The rooms were clean and tidy. Parking can be a problem if you have a big car. The location is nice. Everything available at arms length. No food on the premises but it should not be a problem unless you're the breakfast in bed type. Overall a pleasant stay.

I stayed with my mom here for a night and it was a very pleasant experience. The rooms are clean and comfy and the sea view from the room is breathtaking. The staffs are cooperative and friendly. 5 stars 🌟

One of the best resort I have visited. The receptionists Akshat were really helpful and friendly. The room was well equipped and the service was excellent. From the balcony, we could view the sea. The location of the resort was really close to Varkala Cliff.

The room is as shown. It is completely centralised with AC. The staff is helpful and polite. Akshat is a great person. He will guide you for everything. View is amazing from balcony. Try to get second floor room. Rooms are clean and big. Didn't get chance to click room photo. Best thing is location. The back gate opens right on the cafe and cliff street where you can walk and do cafe hoping and watch mesmerizing views of Arabian Sea.

The rooms are spacious, comfy and clean. i have got a room in first floor. And the view from the room is breathtaking. The sunrise is so beautiful. As it is locates in the cliff itself we have lot of cafes, shopping places etc nearby. I had a small inconvenience at first that they had a made me pay extra ₹500 saying that the AC in the room i booked is not working and they can only provide a upgraded room at the last moment. I had no other choice other than paying that because at the last moment no other rooms where available. So not satisfied with their service .

View from balcony is breathtaking. Manager Akshat and other staff is very kind and helpful. Really worth the every penny. Comfortable and cozy stay. Highly recommend hotel in Varkala.

We loved our stay here. The room was really spacious and we loved the large balcony with sea views. Fridge and kettle in room was a nice touch. The shower was the best we had in Kerala always hot and high pressure. Staff also nice. Only issue we found was wifi was quite slow and signal did not reach the balcony (we were on 2nd floor so don’t know if it’s to do with the distance from reception) also had a day with no wifi due to bad weather. Would be good if they had a tap/shower in garden to wash off sand from the beach fully before going inside

Its exactly on the cliff of varkala beach. So the view is quite good when you walk past the gate. Many good hotels are nearby do try Abba cafe and gods own countrry kitchen they are best. Security guard was very polite as he arranged umbrella for us in night time as well as fixed tv issue in midnight. Overall highly recommended only stuff we found missing is there is no food restaurant in the hotel so you beed to walk few steps for getting the food.

We stayed another time in Varkala, this time at the Palan. We got a very nice room, second floor with balcony-stunning view at the sea. The Palan is located directly at the cliff with a lot of restaurants and shops, you enter a nicely arranged garden followed by the hotel, so noone who stares at you as well as quiet nights! The staff and management are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are cleaned daily, nice rain shower (which I used a lot due to humidity...), spacious room with a/c and fan, a safe and a fridge. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

1. Hotel location and view from the balcony is very good. 2. We booked room on 2nd floor which had great beach view and room was quite big. 3. They do provide kettle and hair dryer as well. 4. Room cleanliness and staff is good. 5. One bad thing was that they have 2 single size mattress on double bed. It can get uncomfortable for a couple.

I have recently visited Varkala and I have booked my stay at Palan Beach Resort. Room was fantastic and beach view from Room was excellent. Room is exactly the same what is available in Google photos. Restroom was very clean and neat.Sunset from the balcony was one of the best experience I have had.Owner & staff were very supportive in every aspect during our stay.Owner was also very friendly, polite and very helpful, she guided us on some of the best places in Varkala. Hotel staff were very polite and they helped us in every aspect. Mr.Rahul was very polite and he was there to guide on best hotels, any vehicle booking. We requested for a one day Cab and they have given me a driver Mr.Sunil Kumar, one of the best, polite and friendly driver. He made our one day trip to Trivandrum and kovalam more memorable. Overall, I strongly recommend this place if you are planning to stay at Varkala.

They have a good room with large balcony however the room service was odd.They have a cheap tactics of when you check in early when you ask them for a restroom they say it's not available. However when water shortage is there then they would give you a room to change... when you are about to check out they will say that there is plumber issue and he will come soon....at the end they will not alter the room water service

Good resort in varakala north cliff. We as a couple booked sea view balcony in first floor and the view is just awesome during sunset. Overall good stay and luxury room.

Stayed here on a one night visit to Varkala. Location was optimal, right on the cliff. We had a second floor, sea view room which did not disappoint, equipped with a good sized balcony to enjoy the sunset and sunrise from. Hotel is tastefully decorated and the room and bathroom were very clean. The space is a little run down and in need of a fresh coat of paint, new bath linens and bedsheets but for one night it was comfortable and the kind, friendly staff members made us feel welcome.

Not as much as I expected. There are other resorts which give similar kinds of experience with less pricing. I have requested a refund for my cancellation amount, but still haven't received it. As per the resort policy, the refund will be processed within 10 days. Already 8months over and still haven't received the amount. Although an average resort, well service by the way

The resort is located right on the Varkala cliff which is amazing, the beach view rooms are perfect. The room and the bathroom was clean and neatly maintained, the view from the room is breathtaking. Even though there is no restaurant in the resort, there are lot of good cafes and restaurants nearby. Overall it was a great experience.

The property is located towards the southern part of the cliff. Location, service, room condition was absolutely good. They have emough parking space too. They have beautiful cliff facing room too. The cost was a bit overpriced without breakfast but was manageable as I visited during season.

Simple unfussy hotel in north cliff of varkala, located comfortably in cliff road with numerous cafes and shops in walkable distance. Rooms are newly decorated, maintained clean and has great views of the ocean. They don’t provide much services other than rooms, no breakfast or restaurant in the property. But you have multiple cafes nearby. Ample car parking at the property.

The rooms are of decent size and comfortable, I really liked the handpicked articles inside the hotel, The view from the balcony is nice and it has ample parking space for cars. The best part is the location of this resort, They can look at the food serving option or at least serve tea or coffee in the room. The staff is helpful and humble.

We stayed in this property for 2 days. The property is close to most happening places in the cliff. The view from balcony is breathtaking. Room was clean spacious and had all the necessary amenities. Caretaker Akshat helped us in every possible way. I would definitely recommend their sea facing rooms for anyone visiting varkala.

Truly the best! We checked out other places but for this rate, this place is heaven!

This sea facing resort on the cliff is right next to the best of the cafes in Varkala. We had a comfortable stay. Staff were polite and rooms very clean. They don't have a kitchen but it's not going to be a problem.

great rooms, great location. This place is right on the cliff, but has a good setback, so you get to enjoy the sunset and the sea from the balcony. Make sure to take the rooms with balcony, the views are fantastic! If you are driving to the hotel, the roads are very narrow as you reach the hotel, and it is advisable to reach there before sundown.

It has a nice view of the sea from balcony and rooms were neat and tidy, but that day the centralized AC malfunctioned unfortunately. But in the morning they apologized and gave me back half of the amount against my inconvenience, which i found professional. Looking forward to visit em again if needed.

Good...not the best...but the sea view is awesome..food you will have to buy from shacks outside the compound.

The host, Sunil, is super good. They know the places around and guide you well. In case you need a cab or a two wheeler, which is an essential, they'll arrange that for you too. The rooms are nicely designed for you to have a sea and sunset view. They have good space for balconies too. In all the place is worth the money you pay. At last, they have wifi.
