It's nature lovers treasure. Can see lot of animals especially in night. If you are lucky you can spot in day time itself. Lot of places for off road and trekking spots bit which requires guidance. The forest Dept collects amounts in various points.

Sadly, we could not go inside as we were accompanied by our puppy. The place seemed serene and beautiful. I am writing this so that people can know there are certain restrictions, which we did not know before travelling so far. 1: No pets allowed- so if you are travelling with pets then you will have to stay at the gates as you won’t be allowed. If somehow u manage to enter with pets without the knowledge of guards then u will have to pay a fine of 10k. (So stick to the rules) The reason for no pets being allowed inside is because it is a wildlife area. 2: No alcohol or cigarettes: don’t carry unnecessary items that can get you in trouble. 3: there is a entry fees of 50Rs/each, pay that follow the rules and have fun. We hope to go next time without are puppy. Missed being inside . Take care stay safe.

The Anamalai Tiger Reserve, more famously known as the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park, located in the south of India is a unique reserve which has long since protected the endemic species of both plants and animals that reside here. The reserve was officially declared a Tiger Reserve in the year 2007. It lies in the Western Ghats which is a well-known hotspot for biodiversity. This also means that the species found in the tiger reserve are truly endangered and often rare and in need of protection. A visit to Tamil Nadu will never be complete without visiting the Anamalai Tiger Reserve that has been the constant state's companion since its establishment in the year of 1848. The reserve’s unique location also makes it a gathering spot for many nature lovers and photographers that wish to witness the marvels of the reserve while also taking in the marvels of the landscape surrounding it. Another aspect that makes the reserve truly unique is the fact that it is also an anthropological reserve and hosts around six different tribal groups, one of which is endemic to the area. When visiting the reserve individuals are sure to witness at least a few things that would hold their interest and have them delving deeper into the reserve.

One of the famous tiger reserve in Tamil nadu with wide range of biomes.Famous for bengal tiger presence but we are not lucky enough to spot any animals that time. Some areas were dry deciduous forest which lacks greenery.Traveling through this area was a thrilling ride. After Udumalaipettai there will be a check post before the forest where you need to pay entry fees of Rs 30. One of the concerns which I noticed people were littering plastic waste along this ghat road which is unacceptable and disappointing.

We can travel through this tiger reserve in two main routes which are munnar-udumalpet road and pollachi-valparai road. Both are excellent and can't describe with words. Incredible beauty of nature and wildlife. Please dont throw plastic.

The Anamalai Tiger Reserve is located in the Western Ghats of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, India. It is one of the important tiger reserves in the country and is known for its rich biodiversity. The reserve is home to various species of flora and fauna, including the Bengal tiger, Indian elephant, lion-tailed macaque, and many endemic plant species. It's a significant area for conservation and wildlife enthusiasts.

Visit during winter. Plan and book your stay and travel in advance. A must see place. please do not carry plastic covers and do not litter the place. Do not feed animals. If we feed, they change and loose their hunting skill and also start disturbing human. It is better to start early from Pollachi and reach forest by 9 am.

The trip here is very good. When we reached the entrance the two officers who were there bought us a ticket for Rs.50 (actual price Rs.20 )and the journey was very enjoyable and fun. Except for unqualified officers

The roads were narrow and the animal will walk at any time. The are check post at the borders. While we are riding the bike the group of elephants cross the road .we just wait for it to crossing. While we travel at night we are just afraid to cross the road because they warned us that at night time elephants will come. We travel along with a lorry. The slope of the mountains is very lovely and we enjoyed to drive bike in it. It is an awesome experience for me to travel there with my friends

Anamalai Tiger Reserve in Tamilnadu is quite an enthralling place to quench much of your evergreen curiosity to spot tigers. • The presence of more than 25 tigers underscores the healthiness of this ecological heaven. It is rich in flora and fauna and a favourite haunt of nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. • On this International Tiger Day, for the tigers, we must unite, so they don't fade out of sight! • Apart from the Anamalai Tiger reserve, Tamilnadu is protecting and boasts of having tigers in Kalakad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve, Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve and Srivilliputtur Megamalai Tiger Reserve. The drive from Anamalai to Parambikulam is filled with greenary and is quite peaceful and relaxing By the mid-1800s, large tracts of Valparai plateau in the Anamalais were under intense tea or coffee plantations after deforestation of the natural forests. By 1866 two-thirds of the plantations were owned by Europeans and the remaining by Indians from coastal towns. Since most native inhabitants either refused to work or were inefficient workers, labour for plantations was brought from the plains of Tamil Nadu to clear forests and grow coffee. Some parts of the forest however were reserved for timber including large areas around Top Slip. This part of the Western Ghats, under the Madras Presidency were exploited extensively for teak which was supplied to the Bombay Dockyard for shipbuilding and later for railroad ties. In 1855, this area came under sustainable forest management for teak plantations by the pioneering efforts Douglas Hamilton and H. F. Cleghorn of the new Tamil Nadu Forest Department. In the early 1900s, protection of the Karian shola was also ensured. The area was notified as Anaimalai Wildlife Sanctuary in 1974. of its unique habitats at 3 places – Karian Shola, Grass hills, Manjampatti Valley were notified as a National Park in 1989. The 108 square kilometres (42 sq mi) National Park is the core area of the 958 square kilometres (370 sq mi) Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary.IGWS was declared a Project Tiger tiger reserve in 2008. The Park and the Sanctuary is under consideration by UNESCO as part of The Western Ghats World Heritage Site. The Sanctuary and the Palni Hills in Dindigul District form the Aanaimalai Conservation Area.[9]

We visited top slip from 27 to 29 june 2019. Lovely place to stay and unwind. The weather is real good, more so if you are from Chennai. You are certain to see deer and bison in the night and if lucky one or two elephants.Do not expect a warm welcome from the reception desk in charge officer. Down the line almost every one is friendly and helpful. Plan your visit during working days and you will have the whole place to yourself.

The falls is too good and lively.water force was too good . My long bike ride pains we're washed away by this water fall when I stood under it. Wow she is a real beauty of the water body. Love to stand under those waters falling all over your heart , soul and physical body . Lost myself over there. Just try closing your eyes and feel the water with love, Heaven will be there. Must try the above things. Take care of your things because there will be no one to look after things. Don't eat before monkeys they are always watching to take eatables away from you . Hope you like it . Let me know if you feel the same .

These foresrt guards are only good for collecting garbage, the safaris here are fake, they don't take you to forest, they tie tamed elephants everywhere the jeep goes , you will get to see only slave elephants, no wild animals, they will take you to places where humans are walking, the end destination is a pile of tribal garbage dumpyard but in reality, these forest guards have a plastic selling side buisness.I have uploaded the pic of my cousin i took at the final destination which is a elephant training place, how the hell is it a wildlife safari ?... also there are stray dogs inside the core of the park...but these garbage collecting forest officers don't allow pets to valparai route which has no predators in the way unlike what these frauds have claimed..note: all the elephant pics i uploaded are tamed!!

Hi Just want to share the worst customer service experience I have faced for over 8 months this 2020. We had made a reservation during April, 2020 and due to the unfortunate circumstances cancellation was processed by the Anamalai Tiger Reserve on 27th March. Soon after I have been trailing with over 50 odd mails and several calls to the customer support executive. Everytime I was been told the booking was canceled and we processed your refund. But nope, it's been 9 months and we did not receive any refund right until today. This was such a disappointing experience for me. Did not expect that a reputed organization such as this, can turn out to render the poorest response. Being a local guide, it's my responsibility to make sure everyone know the facts clear.

One of the worst experiences. I have been visiting Top Slip for almost 20 years now and this was one of the worst experiences for my wife and I. There were some men who had brought in drinks and were drinking, smoking openly. They kept playing loud music until 11 pm in the night and it was astonishing to me that none of the wardens, police took any action on it. I finally had to step out of my room and ask the men to turn off the music . I have written a official complaint to 'Anamalai Tiger Reserve' . I am not sure if they are going to take any action but if so I will edit this post later on.

The Anaimalai forest in Kerala holds a special place in my heart, as it has become my all-time favorite destination. Whenever I find the time, I make it a point to visit this incredible forest. One of the reasons I'm drawn to it is the unique experience of being able to feel both the Kerala and Tamil Nadu terrains in a single trip. The forest is filled with hidden gems, and among them is the renowned Parambikkulam Tiger Reserve. One of the most thrilling aspects of exploring this forest is the opportunity to encounter wildlife at any given time. If luck is on your side, you might even catch a glimpse of tigers from a distance. The forest's charm extends throughout the year, but it truly comes alive during the rainy season.

I travelled from Munnar to Vadakkenchery (Palakkad district, Kerala) via Marayoor - Chinnar - Anamalai road and passed through the Anamalai Tiger reserve. The travel through the reserve forest is thrilling. Only a few vehicles passed by when we were driving. There are warning signs not to get out of the vehicle or park for photos etc. Travelling after evening (if permitted) is not advisable.
