Known for its evergreen tea plantations, the hills of Munnar with their rolling beauty and charm can cast a magical spell on the visitors! While most of the hills are adorned with tea plantations, some are enchanted by mesmerising waterfalls, lush vegetation and lot more. Munnar is one of the most-loved honeymoon places in Kerala and the 'Photo Point' is a favourite spot among all Munnar tourist places! The Photo Point is simply a curve located on the winding roads of the Nilgiri Hills, located about 3 km away from Munnar on the way to Mattupetty and Top Station.

Munnar, located in the picturesque Western Ghats of Kerala, is a breathtaking hill station that never fails to captivate visitors with its enchanting beauty. Nestled amidst rolling tea plantations, mist-covered mountains, and lush green valleys, Munnar offers a truly magical experience. The highlight of Munnar is undoubtedly its tea gardens, which extend as far as the eye can see. Walking through these manicured tea estates, with the aroma of fresh tea leaves in the air, is a serene and rejuvenating experience. The picturesque landscapes, with their cascading waterfalls, meandering streams, and colorful flora, create a postcard-perfect setting that leaves visitors in awe. For nature enthusiasts, Munnar offers ample opportunities for trekking and wildlife spotting. The Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, offers breathtaking views from its peaks and an opportunity to witness diverse wildlife in their natural habitat. The Anamudi Peak, the highest peak in South India, provides a challenging yet rewarding trekking experience. Munnar is also blessed with numerous pristine lakes, such as Mattupetty and Kundala, where visitors can enjoy boating amidst the tranquil surroundings. The famous Echo Point allows you to shout out and hear your voice reverberate through the hills, creating a fun and memorable experience. Additionally, the town of Munnar offers charming attractions such as the Tea Museum, where visitors can learn about the history and process of tea production. The local markets are perfect for purchasing aromatic spices and handmade chocolates, a specialty of the region. Furthermore, Munnar provides a range of accommodation options, from luxurious resorts to cozy homestays, ensuring a comfortable stay for every traveler. In conclusion, Munnar's natural beauty, serene landscapes, and tea plantations make it a must-visit destination. Whether you seek adventure, tranquility, or simply a retreat from the chaos of city life, Munnar will leave you spellbound with its unparalleled charm and breathtaking vistas.

This was my first time at a hill station surrounded by tea plantations! The climate is really chill and the sight is beautiful! I was on my way to Kolukkumalai so didn't get time to explore much in Munnar. But it's definitely on my list!!

You must visit munnar, If you want to feel the real beauty of kerala...!! Really really awesome place. December and January is the best time to visit munnar. Please try to stay in the town itself, if you travel with children, otherwise some times it's difficult to travel in the night if you face any hospital emergency.

The tourist region is divided in four routes according to convenience and time concerned . Routes like towards Thekkady, Mattupetty,Coimbatore,Kochi . The division is more helpful to jeep, car, rentals as they charge INR 3k to 4k based on routes aa one day you can cover one route. But if you are on bike then you are free to capture best among all 4 routes. A visit of 2 to 5 day is sufficient. You can get hotels easily but will be costlly for single ,as one room around 2k . Coming from Kochi(Ernakulam) via Aluva is more frequent and government buses also run from the same.

Munnar is a town in the Western Ghats mountain range in India's Kerala state.Lying at 1600 m above sea-level, it's surrounded by rolling hills dotted with tea plantations.Munnar is also called the "Kashmirย of South India".Its overall view, including the tea plantations, beautifully designed towns, rare flora and fauna, massive peaks and dams, make it the perfect destination for an extended vacation as well. Tea estates are more than just places where tea leaves are grown and harvested. They are also sources of livelihood, culture, and heritage for many people who live and work there. Tea estates have a long history of producing some of the finest teas in the world, with different regions having their own unique flavors and aromas. Tea estates are also home to diverse ecosystems, where wildlife and plants coexist with human activities. Tea estates are more than just businesses; they are communities that share a common passion for tea.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Blanket Munnar. Hospitality on-point by the hotel staff. From reception to Departure and everything in between, it was flawless. The rooms were beautiful and we'll appointed. Room service never missed a beat. The Attukad waterfall is right by the hotel and a gorgeous drive down. Don't forget to enjoy "chaya" (tea) at the tea stall next to the waterfalls. Lots to do around this place. A must visit!

Although the road is a national highway and is smooth (NH 49), it is narrow, twisty, and curvy. Make sure you have a light meal before you drive to Munnar on these roads, to ensure a smooth experience! Kothamangalam is around 60 km from Kochi and is 80 km away from Munnar. Between Kothamangalam and the next town โ€œAdimaliโ€, you can experience a beautiful cool drive through a natural forest where you enjoy the waterfalls on the way to Munnar and multiple streams.
