The not so famous but all the more beautiful Marlimund lake. A source of water for a good part of Ooty. Literally, the overhead tank of Ooty. Beautiful lake on a sparsely populated stretch.. riding through these areas is like riding through heaven! Great place for spending good time.

Came here alone for a walk in the morning at 8, there was literally no one, very serene! I was a little bit scared what if I encounter a wild animal!

It’s a small lake. Surroundings are Clean and green. Not much crowded. It’s visible from road itself. A descent way is available to both the banks. Weather changes quickly here with some low clouds adding to the beauty.

Beautiful place, reached right on time at sunset. Summer 2012. Late post/review. Must visit for all nature loving ppl.. Good for Photography.. enjoyed every moment. Would love to visit once again Ooty hills with my apple iphone and DSLR. Jus few random clicks of lake, Ooty hills and enroute to Ooty-mysore road. Climate is awesome in the month of feb till May.

It's a beautiful lake with no humans around which is how it should be. Please don't pollute if you happen to go there and I hope no resorts etc open up around to destroy the place. Enjoy the beauty in serene surrounding, birds and ducks and respect it please. Recommended.

It s very near to Ooty and nearer to police station . We could see gaurs in evening times. People spoted some carnivores sometimes. Less crowded spot. Heaven for Introverts like me. Can spend time there seeing the glowing water and greeneries... But it is very close to road. For safety don't bring kids there. The worn out hand rails giving panic...

Nothing there apart from that abandoned bridge. Lake is fine but location and safety is big question. Can be visited with friends, But with girls or ladies is highly not recommended.. Has to travel 4-5 kms from Ooty to see just water reservoir is not recommended.

If you want to sit in solitude and enjoy ducks swimming, this is the place. Get some snacks and drinks along and enjoy the breathtaking view of the beautiful lake. You will need to search your way through to reach to the lake but that's not very difficult. Beautiful. Impeccable. Must go and spend a couple of hours here. The photographs at sunset will be mesemerizing.

This is a small lake that falls on the way from Masinagudi towards Ooty, after you have covered the 36 hairpin bend road. You can just halt here for 5-10 mins, relax a bit, grab a few pics, admire the beauty of nature and resume your drive. The road here is a bit congested, so make sure you don't park your car blocking the road way. There's usually a lot of rush in the weekends from tourists travelling to Ooty. There's also a small bridge on the lake, but I'd recommend not to walk over it because it's quite old and might not be in a condition to withhold any weight.

The place was deserted, the view has been rightfully fenced. The bridge for the view seems old. The weather was nice while we trekked from the Yantra resorts we were staying in.

This place used to be beautiful however the recent visit was not so pleasant as it used to be. There were lots of garbage around and empty booze bottles all around.. Feel sad to see this place in the condition it has become. I am part of COP (Clean Ooty Project) I will suggest this place to be restored to its beauty..

Very attractive location at ooty. Marlimund lake is situated just 3.5kms from ooty railway station. You can seek the help of locals there. Ultimate ambiance and mind blowing location. Love that place. We found this on some private websites and decided to visit. Don't know too much. Anyway good place to hangout. There is no entry fee, parking lot, or nothing.

Good place to get amazed by the Charming nature. Nothing much special. Just a normal lake , you cannot walk around it

Nice place located almost inside Ooty. Amazing view. Children must be kept safe because mostly all the fence are broken. Too danger to lean on it and take pictures.

Great place to explore. It's within walking distance from Adam's Fountain/Charing Cross (around 4.5 km). Take the right for Snowdon Road once you reach St. Stephen's Church. From there, head for Pudumund Police Station. The lake is around half a km from there. There is hardly anyone around so you can find paths that circle the lake, but locals might stop you. There were some men fishing there and they told me that a tiger had been spotted, so I should not venture too far down the paths around the lake. I think it's okay, though, because during the daytime the sound of vehicles on the main road should keep wild animals away. But it would be advisable to go with someone as there is some risk.

No other Facilities. Steps over there so you can go down but not advisable for kids.

Nice lake. The place was calm and quiet. Though it was the rainy season, the water level was low. Upkeep of the surrounding needs to be improved. The fencing was in disrepair, and there was no well marked pathways around the lake. There is no designated parking and so vehicles have to park on the narrow road.

Calm lake. Not much of people around.

The lake is unexplored and probably the city’s best kept secret. Go for it !!
