Located at an altitude of 1700 metres from sea level Kundala Lake is a must stopover en route Munnar. Rolling tea plantations on the slopes of the Nilgiris under the canopy of the blue sky above with mild aroma of fresh tea leaves will make your holiday experiences richer than ever. One of the major attractions of Kundala Lake is the Kundala dam. Kundala is paradise of flowers- Cherry Blossoms and Neelakurinji.

We had high hopes when we went here to see that dam, which is quite far from the Munnar's city center itself. It was okay, nothing magical. It is just like any other dam in your city If you can, then just skip this while visiting Munnar. Peaceful, scenic beauty, best place for relax, boating & horse ride available near dam it's also interesting, only negative there not enough sanitation facilities & parking areas. Go in the evening time around 4pm to get a beautiful view of the lake. We took few pics there and proceeded to the dam area, which was awesome. A Decent serene dam with reservoir and not much else. On the way to top station, a decent point, basically to savour the natural beauty over a water front. The natural beauty in munnar is exceptional.

Kundala Lake is located on the mattupetty direction from munnar. It's a very peaceful and graceful lake and the boating was a pleasant experience...it is recommended to take a rowing boat rather than a speed boat to better enjoy the beauty of the lake and surrounding.

It is a small and beautiful lake with nice scene surrounded by hills. I loved fresh sweet water fish in the nearby shop. It was very tasty. It was worth spending a few hours at this place.

It is the perfect place to spend time. You can stay for the whole day as it has a park with trees for shade. The view of the lake filled with greenery is very picturesque. The crowd is obvious but it won't have much effect. There is a little more lawn inside the lake where you can do photo shoots, you can see in the pictures uploaded here. No entry fee, food availability and fun outside.

Kundala Lake is pristine, surrounded by mountains and greenery on all sides. The clear water lapping and reflecting the scenery around makes the entire area extremely beautiful and soothing (sans the crowd because it’s a popular tourist spot).

Best for boating in Munnar. Two types of boating are available one is pedal boat (2 adults and 1 child) and Coracle round boat (4 adults and 1 child with 1 boat rower) You will get to have boating at several places in munnar, at echo point or at mattupetty dam but the scenic views of kundala lake is something different. You can also enjoy the shopping there. 30mins for boating will be provided.

Very nice place to spend time with family and friends. Located after crossing the kundala dam. Most of the times the place is crowded however it has enough space to accommodate the crowd. If you visit in the summer as well we can sit there without any trouble since the place has covered with eucalyptus trees. A small entree fee is also There. Washroom facilities are also available need to pay 5rs for that. The place is just beautiful and sitting near eucalyptus tree looking towards the lake was just superb. There you can see many photographers approach to us for taking pics near to the eucalyptus trees. If required we can uterlize that. For havit tea and snacks lots of small shops are also available.
