Noyyal river is a eastward flowing river and is a tributary of river Kaveri. The river is highly polluted due to the flow of chemical waste from the industries of Tiruppur and the water neither used for household or agricultural purposes. Beware and do not consume the noyyal water at any cost. But the river is a scenic treat and flows through many beautiful villages and orathupalayam dam is a very average dam to visit.

We can enjoy river side fishing and bathing . Even it's water had used for drink. But all waste sludges and printing colour waste waters are mixed into the river by thirupur Tex companies and local factories and houses which are located near river basis..

One of the best river and worst river, because the river is our village border and it is the only source for our all water need during my childhood, i still remember i use to take bath in the river while my mom and cousins wash the cloths, also people take this water to drink to their kids, and also near the river shower, some of our farms will be there, the same water was used for farming and water for our cattels, later when Tiruppur start getting developed all the dying factory started mixing the waste water into the river and the river after Tiruppur district flow till joins the covery river totally condaminated, now even in our wells are getting condaminated we can not drink the water and even using for bath also very difficult, even though rule applied by govt until the people and factory owners understand the need of water it is not going to stopped. Will wish the river to get well soon by nature by itself.

Noyyal river originated in western ghats and flow through the districts coimbatore, Tiruppur, erode and karur, finally combines with River Cauvery at the village of noyyal, hence it's named as Noyyal river.erode district border ends at noyyal river and Karur district gets started over there. We can reach here by bus from erode to Karur and the bus stop name itself noyyal.

It's just a dried out river which looks like a semi desert now. Government should clean up the river and apply rain water harvesting methods to save the river.

One of the main water source in the kongu region. But it is polluted due to industrial development. Needs more action and maintenance to regain its originality. Sure it will happen I believe. Let's make it,👍👍👍🙏🙏🇮🇳🇮🇳

Highly polluted by Tirupur and Coimbatore drainage and chemical water. When I was small, me and my friends used to swim in this river weekends and summer holidays. Now you can't put your feet inside. Highly poisonous water. In front of my eyes one river gone. 2 km both sides of the river you can't drink ground water.
