Resort is good. Area of resort is also large. But WiFi is not available in rooms. I faced TV problem for 3-4 times. Dirty and unhygienic rooms and surroundings. There are no activities in the area except the pool. Though many activities were said to be provided, most of them were not available. So very less options to keep the interest of children. The options for food were extremely limited. But the charges were expensive. I didn’t like anything. This place was so disgusting. Bugs everywhere, poor customer service, around resort fully bad water worst experience ever. Food options are less. Not fully well maintained. Food is not cooked properly. DO NOT EVER WASTE YOUR MONEY

Not at all recommended. Worst resort I have stayed in. Dirty and unhygienic rooms and surroundings. Zero maintanance and service. Flooding problem is there. Buffet is also really bad. Not at all a resort. You will get much better options for similar price in this area. Better to stay away from this one.

The property is situated at a scenic place. But the services are sub-standard. There are no activities in the area except the pool. Unprofessional approach from the resort regarding basic hospitality. The management is inefficient, they don’t know how to run a big resort which is the oldest one in this destination.. food was overpriced , taste and quality was below par..

The resort is opposite Cherai Beach and adjacent to the bay. Mangroves and trees growing on the property. A perfect resort to spend a holiday with a very good ambience. But it felt a bit lax in maintaining it. Maybe because everything is restarting after covid. But it seemed like an experience worth the money. It would be good if the management paid a little more attention.

Stay at this resort was amazing. The entire property was very neatly maintained. The rooms and entire surroundings were perfect as a getaway place. We had booked the doctors villa. The staff was highly cooperative and provided everything we needed without any delays. Right opposite to the resort, we can get into the beach. Also the pool was amazing. The property is quite large that we could spend time walking inside the property itself. Really enjoyed the stay.

First of all, this is not exactly by the side of sea as some photos show.. There is a lake beside the resort, however only very few rooms are lake facing - most of the rooms are facing each other.. there is a main road in between the resort and the beach and you will have to exit the resort and cross the road to access the beach. We went during off peak days and place was literally empty. Felt bit overpriced for row houses facing each other. The rooms are normal and pools werent maintained. The reception and restaurant staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is good overall.

The resort is FANTASTIC and Mr. Saji Joseph is a great host. We had a most wonderful time at the resort (Poolside Villa) and Saji was kind enough to extend our checkout time by an hour. The place is clean, well-maintained, and you can just walk across the street to the beach. It was an amazing experience and I would most definitely recommend the resort to anyone who plans to visit Cherai.

Slightly ageing resort, but still one of the best ones, though there are bigger names around. Key highlight is the location and the cottages. Right across is the beach and access is crossing the road, which is not very busy. Service is also good.

Giving one star as there is no option for Zero. First impression, bad reception. There was no one to great in the reception and had to wait for someone to arrive. Don't look at the pictures in the website and go, they are outdated. Property is not maintained. Its a beautiful location but they have failed to maintain the property. You will see multiple rooms/cottages in ruined state. You don't have direct access to the beach, you have to walk for 15 - 20 min to reach the beach. There is only one restaurant in the property and only buffet available. Buffet options are very minimal and food is not at all good. Only snacks with minimal options with beverages are available in room service. We ordered chicken samosa which was good for a change, thankfully. We had to order from outside the property from day 2 and luckily found a good restaurant nearby. House keeping is bad. There is no daily cleaning and we had to call the reception to get the room cleaned. Free Water bottles which were supposed to be provided everyday were not delivered and again had to call the reception. We needed a taxi for sight seeing and the resort didn't have any. They gave a contact who quoted an unreasonable charge, hence, we had to find one ourselves on net. While check out, no one came to help us with luggage even though we requested someone to come help us as we had 2 kids and the luggage was heavy. Overall, doesn't even deserve 1 star.

8 acres of land with heritage styled villas. This looks more like an Ayurvedic treatment centre. This place is good for those who love a peaceful place to walk, read, some sun shine etc. Lack of maintenance is visible, but compared to other resorts in this area this looks a better place. The manager said that they offer buffets on weekends. Best place to stay is the duplex villas. You get a good view of backwaters from the balcony. The resort is offering some Ayurvedic treatment too. No private beach here even though the resort is very near to the beach. In fact none of the resorts here have a private beach. It's all said for their advertisement it seems.

This is supossedly the oldest resort here and the age shows in some places. Some of the property is in need of maintenance. The villas we stayed in were the basic ones and were well maintained. Service was good, especially in the restaurant. Food was fine but could be better. Location is great as the beach is just across the road. The resort is also quite close to the main Cherai centre. Weekends can be full, we went on a weekday so it wasn't crowded at all.

Horrible experience. Poorly maintained property. The rooms conditions are deteriorating. Not having all essentials in a room like pillows, towels, bathroom mats, etc. The staff does not have any idea about guest service especially the night watchman. In summary, this resort situated in a very nice location and few years back was one of the best in locality is not in a very good state. Do not recommend until they improve the quality of infrastructure and service.

This property was not clean once we visited there. Lot of cottages was found damaged and the maintenance was also poor. The Ac in our room was leaking and by next day morning the floor was full wet. The hotel restaurant had only limited menu and the food was ok only. Over all our experience was poor. All the staff are very pleasing and their behaviour was also very good.

Excellent property and a lovely location but needs much more maintenance. Housekeeping needs to improve. Budget friendly. Pre covid, the property was far better.

we stayed in the resort for 1 day...the building is of old type but it is comfortable....but definitely not worth the price they charge....the customer service is the worst of the worst....we felt like we are in a hostel run by a govt stafs.... nobody cares about the customers experience they only care about how to charge you more by any means because if you stay there you are like a scape goat caught inside there....the staffs will try to milk you out until you are done....there was no continuous power supply...the power back up will get around 15 to 20 mins to start because you have to personally go and inform the staff to start it ...you have a room service phone line but no one picks it up....you have to walk to the reception several times to get a bottle of water....but the time you check out the staffs will around you knocking your door, chasing you wherever you are because that is one of their strategy to collect money from you...they won't take responsible whatever delay they cause but if you are late even by 20 mins to check out you they will charge rs 1500/-....they don't care about customer experience....it is literally an govt office in operations...

Good rooms with enough space (Doctors villa). 1. Tv, phone were not properly working in one of our rooms 2. Only 1 towel was provided for each room. 3. Kettle and coffee products were not present in 1 room. To atleast get most of these items it took about 2 hours. And no indoor games were available. And the breakfast was limited to say best. There was not much in terms of beach activities like rides available nearby. But the beach was sparsely crowded so you can use it to full.

We had a great time at Cherai beach resorts. It was very quite area with full of greeneries. Staff and the services are really good and food was excellent. Highly recommended🙂. One suggestion is a kids park. Otherwise all are very good.

The resort has natural greenery and a beautiful coastal lagoon behind. The property needs renovation as most of the areas look dull. The food is awesome and they have an excellent Ayurveda centre. Dr Harikumar is very professional and well experienced to attend in detail your health aspects and advise treatments accordingly. Except for some renovations, the property offers a warm and cosy experience.

Good rooms. Privacy is maintained. Clean environment, totally the ambience is good. Good for kids and family. Breakfast is good and tasty, less number of items compared to similar 3 star hotels.

Visited in the month of April 2023, It is one of the best located resorts in cherai beach, Kochi, within walking distance to the cherai beach and back water beside the property. Even though the resort location is good, the resort is the worst maintained. They have fisher hut 🛖 rooms which are damaged and some modern Kerala tradition rooms are good. The worst thing starts at reception, as no one will be available to welcome you. We have taken a pool villa which is superbly located beside backwaters. The rooms and pool are good but 🛏️ is is torn and covered with bedsheet. They have the one of the worst buffets you have ever eaten on a Kerala trip. Breakfast - Idli, Upma, Bread and Butter, coconut chutney and sambar, milk, Tea and coffee Dinner- Chapati, Rice, Two non veg and veg curries Except location nothing there to try this resort.

Arrogant Behavior by all staffs. Pathetic and totally unprofessional Service right from the point of entering the Premise. It was an Event of 100 People. Never experienced such a horrible behavior from the entire Team of an Organization into Hospitality Industry. In deep sleep, they called us and made a baseless allegation that we have damaged their Mike. They demanded the Payment and we came to the Reception for making the Payment. But their demand was payment should be made immediately, but the Bill will be provided on the next day only. We insisted for the Bill since the event was done for a large Group. (Surprisingly, they have demanded Payment in Hard Cash only at the time of Booking a week ago purposefully with an Intention to evade GST. Since we were Law abiding Citizens, we had insisted for GST Bill itself and they had accepted it with displeasure since they are used to GST evasion). The Response from the entire team upon asking for the Bill for the settlement of the Event and a Cake arranged through them was really shocking with Abusive Verbal Diahria in Vernacular Language by a Group of Goons who are employed there. Never ever Recommend such a Place to Law abiding people with Self Respect & Dignity

Not worth at all! There is No Wifi, not well maintained, signs of aging, they haven’t renewed their bar license since it expired last year! Surely there are many modern hotels in Kochi that can provide value for money!

The rooms are amazing. The buffet is very tasty..and the location is superb.. the staff is well mannered and rooms are well maintained... No wifi in the room and wifi network is really low in lounge and restaurant..no suitable for work from home or computer related work and all..only for staycation and relaxing..worth visiting

Rooms are old. Found empty alcohol bottles in the room. Beds are not comfortable. They would not give additional towels! Pool is not treated properly. Restaurant food was just ok and not worth the price. Better go out and eat. If you get for a cheaper price, go for it. If not look at other options. Location is excellent.

Very bad resort experience ever had in terms of neatness, safety, service, & not worth to money. We take cottage worth 4500/- and check in by 7pm (we reach there by that time, not there fault) & had dinner by 8.30. vacate room by next day 11am. But they charged 750 per head for dinner seperately from the 4.5k. its ok. For them the rules might be so. But if 4.5k is for room only....it should worth it. Fan was hanging on a wire only.The hanging rails got rust and disconnected from body. Floor was full of dust. For drinking water ,we dial 555 on intercom, nobody take phone, at late night we went out to nearby shop and bought water. In toilet white bucket turned brown with dirt.Bedsheet not seems fresh.

Good location,staff are good. Food is average. Rooms need maintenance. Gereally a run down look. The compound wall blocks direct view of the lake. Beach is nothing to boast about.

The resort has individual villas and not rooms. Each villa has a sitout, a small drawing room, a spacious and neat bathroom and a double bed with what seems to be spring mattress. Each room has tv and a small fridge and a kettle. However, the room that i stayed in had a few problems. 1. The ceiling fan in the bedroom was faulty and didn't spin fast. It was painfully slow even at highest speed setting on the regulator. 2. Kettle for boiling water or making tea was missing in our villa. 3. Room service took forever. 4. Extra pillows were not provided even after requesting them after check in. During booking, it was informed that there is one extra person in one room. But they only provided mattress and said they have a shortage of pillows. Cost cutting maybe. 5. The extra mattress that was provided was also left outside our villa and we had to take it inside and place it where we wanted. Housekeeping didn't bother with that. 6. Swimming pool water was highly chlorinated. 7. Some of the pool side showers didn't work. 8. The TV in our villa did not work and all the channels just had white noise. 9. The mattress on the bed is very uncomfortable. You just get buried in it and end up with a sore back next morning. 10. The fridge in the villa was off when we checked in and took almost 7 hours to cool stuff. 11. The grass in the walkways and around villas was very poorly maintained. 12. There were some artificial ponds in some areas and in front of the restaurant. The water there was stagnant and it emitted a very bad stench. 13. No wifi service in the rooms. I'm sorry to say this but a resort of this price range needs to do better than what I witnessed. Really poor management and maintenance. I will definitely not recommend going here. Not to mention these rooms I'm talking about were premium rooms that were given to us as an upgrade. Some upgrade that was. One good thing I must mention is the restaurant. The food was buffet system, prices were reasonable and the food was very tasty. Restaurant is definitely the only 5*.

This place is local high-end Resort. It is beautiful, great service, build amazingly. But it is in the local quality, it is not the Hilton or the Sharaton, so don't come with this expectations. You will meet amazing people who do their best as what they know. Thank you for having us.

Never been to such a lousy resort before. Bedsheets were torn. When we asked to change there was no response. Dirty smell near the restaurant area. Buffet menu was repeated for lunch and dinner. Paid 30,000 Rs for 2 nights. Not at all worth for ithe price. Heartaches thinking about the price we paid. Was not able to cancel as we booked online. Seeing the online pics we were fooled😔

Really loved it.....small cottages for each guest...great place for an evening walk..beauty of backwaters and variety of fish growing in there just made us feel really good.....the beach is very close and an early morning visit to the beach will feed your soul...the canteen is really peaceful......the swimming pool will add to ur joy for sure...be a bit planned when u arive there.....arive early so that u have time to enjoy to the fullest....

Good location. Maintenance is zero. Filthy surroundings with stagnant water all around the cottages/rooms. Water logged. Stinking and breeding mosquitoes. Food not at all good. Cold and badly made. Do not go there ever is my advice.

The place is extremely beautiful, but right now poorly maintained. It is not fully cleaned and most places are nto in use - I'm assuming it is because not many guests are flocking in. Food is not exactly healthy, tastes pretty fine. If you order room service, it takes some time. The breakfast buffet is minimal. Staff is nice. Since it is not the season, not many were around. But yes, good place to come with family/friends for a getaway.

We had stayed here for two nights, it was a very pleasant stay. The fish curry we ordered for lunch was yum. The veg kurma was delicious too. Since it was during corona times, there was not much of a rush.

The room and beach wasn't clean. The shower wasn't working, the bath towel were used, the food was disgusting. It wasn't as the picture shown here on Google photos. Never expected this to be so bad, never recommended and never coming back again.

The resort has rooms that are average compared to the charges, however the maintenance seems to have taken a hit given the pandemic situation. Its situated near the beach, hence good for leisure stay. Food was ok, however they had a limited choices in the menu specifically for vegetarians.

Firstly there is 0 maintenance… I booked the pool villa in cherai beach resorts and expected a lot seeing their fake photos on websites… There was very poor hygiene and no safety… We had a terrible experience there… There is no proper room service and food was too bad… Its better to not go for this one

A good resort for most part. Liked the individual cottages. The atmosphere is peaceful. Some pros and cons Pros Friendly staff Nice ambience Fairly good cleanliness ( I wouldn't stay too spot, but it's good enough and rectify if pointed out) Cons Average restaurant. But then , eat out the sand strip has good choices No 🍺 beer. The outlet closed. So it's a pain if you wish I would say it's pricey for the class... I can give the benefit of doubt, but we had to wait a bit (too much) for room turnaround . I think they are Severely understaffed though they don't admit it. This can be a concern going forward

One of the best resort in Cherai beach. Well maintained and neatly arranged rooms. Each individually situated cottages on the sides of backwaters. Opposite side is Arabian ocean with good Rocky beach. Having good swimming pool with treated water in a good atmosphere. Value for spending. Good service by the staff.

Very cooperative Staff. Totally chilled out place. Sanwitched between the Backwaters and the Ocean.

Sad. Tastefully created at one time the resort today is at best a shadow of what it must have been. Problem lies with nature;the tide roles in at night and the water lingers at ankle level till late in the forenoon right outside the residential rooms.

Doctors villas are good. There is flood problem in morning whole resort is flooded with water. Breakfast was ok.

Nice Place to stay in Cherai beach surroundings. Rooms were clean and spacious. Food varieties in the inside restaurant was very limited due to less visitors in covid times. But taste was good. The bigger resort really needs a better maintenance (outside the rooms as well). Especially in Dec/Jan when the back water level raises. This caused the whole lawn areas look very bad and unusable.

Good ambiance, surrounded by back waters. Full of coconut trees and mangrove forests, just a few feet away from beach. Good swimming pool. Rooms are big with very big bed and mattress but a bit old. I think flood and covid affected very much but renovation is going on. Value for money, no doubt

Employees are all courteous and responsive. Food was limited to buffet with normal menu and no amenities except swimming pool and maintenance of the property should be improved. It’s a big property accommodating privacy and peace.

We were there for about 3 days. Room upkeep was ok but not up to the mark. Food was tasty. Swimming pool could have been maintained in a much better way. The area is so huge.

Very good property spread over abt 8 acres. Good, friendly and helpful staff. Quality of food needs improvement. Though rooms are good- there are a couple of short-comings. Contact numbers of reception or house-keeping NOT displayed anywhere. Rooms are allotted with out any pre-checks.

It's an old property at a very scenic location. The base infrastructure is good but poorly maintained. Many places stink badly especially near restaurant. Although the people were polite, service was very slow and not up to the mark. Prices are okay if the property is better managed and service becomes better. However current rates are not justified at all. Food variety is very limited, however food was okay. Don't go with online pictures or videos as they were taken a long time back it seems. Current conditions are not good. We booked for 3 nights but checked out on the first day itself because of the above reasons and mostly because they refused to provide any benches or umbrellas on the beach. Many facilities are mentioned on their website but in reality there is nothing. It seems that the resort needs a good cash inflow to restore back to its previous glory. However currently it's not value-for-money.
