Great resort and well maintained. Rooms and it's views are quite good. The facilities and the amenities were also good. It also has a private beach which is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nice athletic size swimming pool with separate section for kids and adults. Although the buffet options for breakfast is very good but overall all restaurant food prices are little bit on the higher side. All in all We had a great stay with prompt service and excellent ambience. Thanks to Le pondy for the great service.

Great location. Best thing about this place is that they have their own private beach. We were able to visit the beach early in the morning around 6am and it was just beautiful. The other two things that I loved about this place were their pool and their restaurant. No complaints on the food, a lot of options to choose from. Only thing probably that they can look to improve is their rooms which are not to bad but can be improved.

Plus points:- 1) Property is huge and lot of open area. 2) Breakfast options are good. 3) Private access to beach is a plus point 4) you can roam around and enjoy calmness of property even in late night, feels safe. 5) I see many negatives on service, but we had good experience, room service was good, they have complimentary food for kid. It takes sometime to receive but manageable. Negative points:- 1) in night time its really pathetic to have good sleep due to mosquitoes, in spite of putting liquid, experience was horrible. 2) Staff behavior was not so great as was expected from a 4 star so called property. We requested a mosquito bat(since we were staying for 4 days) and staff was not cooperative, it was like you manage yourself. 3) Room needs really a big time maintenance, since property is big but room feels very old, not maintained properly. from inside it feels like a 2 or 3 star hotel. it should be maintained properly. 4) When we checked in and inspected room...it was not properly cleaned and moreover basic facility like geyser was not working and no one came to even see our complained. Overall its good property but room need a big time maintenance, rooms are not worth for the price they charge.

Amazing place. This was my baby’s first trip, and we enjoyed to the max. Suitable for couples with kids. Private beach, amazing resort with play area. You can walk around the resort with kids in the night. Food is amazing, breakfast was free. We opted for dinner buffet which was equivalently delicious. Lots of veg options but very tasty. Beach access is from 6AM to 6PM. If we enter before 6PM we can stay till its dark. We just went and enjoyed the resort for 3 days. If there are few shelters n chairs near the beach it would be good.

Extremely beautiful resort with great service and spacious rooms .. full value for money. It has a big pool, indoor games facility, gym, restaurant which serves amazing food and a private beach which is so clean and serene. Would highly recommend this place for a family trip and also for couples. Only issue is the location because it is in the outskirts of Pondicherry so if you want to go anywhere outside its Extremely inconvenient because of its distance from the main city. But overall if you are looking for a place to spend some quality time with your loved ones this is the best option.

My spouse and I had eagerly booked a stay at the enchanting Le Pondy resorts, in celebration of our second-year anniversary from June 2nd to the 4th. The initial days of our retreat were filled with joy and relaxation, setting the perfect tone for a memorable occasion. However, our idyllic getaway took a distressing turn during the late hours of the 3rd. Around 2:30 AM, an unexpected intruder gained access to our private and luxurious Pool Villa, an area meant exclusively for our enjoyment. This trespasser callously stole all of our cash, leaving us bewildered and anxious. Thankfully, my wife's keen senses alerted her to the presence of the thief, allowing her to catch a glimpse of the individual as they attempted to flee the room. Prior to their intrusion, the perpetrator cunningly deactivated all external lighting and surreptitiously entered our quarters. Fortunately, none of us were harmed during this harrowing incident, as we were accompanied by our one-year-old son. Regrettably, this unfortunate incident has cast a dark shadow over what was meant to be a joyous and cherished celebration. Considering the substantial amount we had invested, totaling approximately 82,000 rupees for two rooms—the Deluxe Lake Facing room( Room no.105) the Luxury Pool Villa(Room no:308)—we find it immensely difficult to recover from this distressing experience. The incident has left us feeling overwhelmed with stress and frustration, making it challenging to fully embrace the remainder of our stay at the resort. It is disheartening to recount the extent to which our expectations were shattered, as we had envisioned a tranquil and secure retreat at Le Pondy. We sincerely hope that the resort management takes appropriate measures to ensure the safety and well-being of their guests in the future, preventing any such unsettling incidents from occurring again.

Except for the restaurant where the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the reception and other staff did not seem very tourist friendly. They do not have cars at the property that you can book for sight seeing even though the resort is remotely located. They snub you off for some rule or the other, made such a big fuss over carrying their umbrellas for sight seeing. Rooms could have been better equipped.

This place has a full potential to be a fabulous one. If they maintained it well. The rooms and bathrooms need a lot of work. If you go by the photos they took in their first year you’d be fooled. There are lots of lizards and centipedes and the doors have gaps at the bottom and on top so they easily crawl into your room. This can be easily fixed by adding something to close the gap. You have to be watchful all the time if there’s something creeping around. The lizards were making chirping sound like they were behind the curtains I didn’t dare to even look. I really wanted to love this resort. Breakfast was nice. Restaurant staff was nice. It just needs a lot of maintenance. The whole property

IF YOU ARE READING THIS, CONSIDER BOOKING A 2 STAR HOTEL BUT NOT THIS PATHETIC JUNK. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING. I am rating this property one star because ZERO is not an option in Google Maps. 1. This is an Open Jail. It is about 10 km away in the outback from pondicherry, there are no facilities to travel to the city, when asked about cab services, the hotel reception shamelessly said that the cabs are subject to availability and they will charge an exorbitant 1000 rupees to just drop you to the city. 2. The garden view rooms give a pathetic view of a small space adjacent to the room, where there is no grass but weird stones and fixed on the floor. The so called garden is just a smoking zone. There is no curtain and just a Glassdoor connecting to that area, thus you will have to wake up with sunrise as rooms can not be secured from sunlight. 3. The room design is small, cramped and the room floors are of the material that they will always dusty. 4. Room service is pathetic, we had to call atleast twice for every order we gave from our room. We had put our used utensils outside the rooms. Even after 8 hours, those dishes were unmoved and untouched spreading foul smell. The room doesn't even have a SOAP and Conditioner in the room; we are talking about a 5 star resort. 5. The beach is far far far away from the rooms, the pathway connecting to the beach is not maintained. The road is uneven, doesn't have a single streetlight, no place to sit and relax on the lawn. The grass is not maintained at all. 6. The breakfast area has no AC in it. Again, we are talking about a 5 star resort with no air conditioning facility for breakfast. 7. Because the resort is far away from the town, you are forced to order from their restaurant, which is overpriced and the food is outrageously bad. 8. There are no card lock system in the room, we have to rely on the age old lock and key system, my sister's room door was super faulty and she got locked inside her room twice. 9. When we checked out, after paying an exorbitant price, not a single person from the staff helped us shift our luggage from rooms to our cab and stuff it in the trunk. A Good Samaritan security guard came to our rescue. 10. In conclusion, this is a scam rip off, you will pay more for rent only to spend way more for food and travel expenses because of the distance and lack lustered quality of this resort's facilities.

Had a memorable stay at this resort. Rooms are good with plenty of amenities. Private beach is neat and clean. Resort is well maintained. Breakfast had plenty of options and food was good. The structures have an unique styling to it and looks very nice. Only con I found was I was able to spot few lizards outside rooms , but can't help because of the unique roofs.

Very good ambience. Beach is accessible. We stayed in a villa with private pool. We enjoyed it. Only thinks what we didn’t like is the lock system in the doors. It is very old system and not maintained well. Locking and unlocking was not easy. Food is good

Booked this resort seeing the reviews...however the situation is completely contrary. Guess these reviews were paid review. We booked the same referring social media, the rooms are very dirty every thing is so old not maintained seriously they are charging 15 k per day but the service are very bad. 1) AC is not working properly. 2) Bathroom is not clean 3) Non availablity of AC remote. 4) Not provided the lake view rooms after proper bookings. 5) chef don't know about the meaning of word spicy. 6)Food is pathetic. Food is really pathetic & is not worth paying 15k. Kindly avoid. .

Main positive is the access to a clean, uncrowded beach. It has views of the lake on another side too. The overall ambience with thatched buildings is good. Unfortunately it is poorly managed. Staff doesn't seem to be trained well. Interiors are not up to the mark, very poor design and detailing. Not adequately maintained too..the finer touches needed for a property like this is totally missing. Worst part is the food, they are totally off on the European menu, probably they don't seem to know what some of the dishes are at all. Got a frozen, stone hard chocolate mousse, even Indian dishes were poor. Buffet breakfast menu was an odd mix of dishes. However, service was prompt. Overall, wouldn't care to go back

My family's third visit to this resort was a mixture of good and bad.....we had 3 rooms booked, each room had issues like, soiled bedding, non-working flush, broken external door lock ....one room was re-assigned. Breakfast was good but lacked variety...we were bored of it by day 3. The staff are friendly and room service was good. We loved the beach access and warm pool. The game room was non-operable and no other form of entertainment within resort. We ordered A-la-carte dinner and that was yummy

Le Pondy is a beautiful property, vast and the grounds are well maintained. Rooms are big and spacious as well as the bathroom. However the propert is quiet old and age shows in all the furniture, walls and bathroom fittings. It badly needs a makeover. Restaurant is very big and quiet easily accommodates the morning breakfast rush. Breakfast spread is good. Overall the food is good. Service is top notch and if one department delays calling the reception does the trick. They are very polite and good. The property has direct access to the beach. Overall we had a good stay. Hope they give it a makeover soon.

We are staying from Dec 27-29, 2 families (4 adults and 2 infants). Peak tarriff, peak time so high expectations from a 4 star resort. 1. Location: 5*: Blessed with both views - sea face and bay face 2. Layout: 4*: Also good, airy rooms and walkways. Also, bridge over the pond (quite dirty though) is a good touch. The play area and lawns are nice. 3. Food and Beverages: 3*: Breakfast and lunch were decent. The room service could be better, as food wasn't warm enough. 4. Missing basics: 1 star. No towels on pool side or beach side, No ear buds & moisturizer in rooms, No extra cutlery at room. Even at restaurant, our table didn't had all the required plates and cutlery. 5. Kid unfriendly: This has been a major disappointment for us. - The place is not at all pram / wheelchair friendly. No ramp anywhere. - Dirty: This has been the biggest issue for us. Rat poops in balcony, Lack of fresh towels at room, Significant delay in room and porch cleaning: Evening tea cups and pots are not cleared even till next day morning, Bathroom wasn't cleaned for the day and some of the fittings are quite fragile. Poolside benches had tea/coffee stains and leftover cups. Swimming pool had too much chlorine in the water and triggered burning sensation in the eye. 6. Internet issues: The wifi wasn't accessible to me as it flashed "too many users connected". I just wanted to connect one device for my room. Overall this place is good for the location and access to the clean beach. But, I think cleanliness and tidiness of the place all round could be better. Service can be more timely.

Great location. Paradise beach is accessible from its back gate. French town is a 20 min drive. Spacious rooms. Huge landscaped gardens. Suggested to have your own transport to get around, since the resort is a little away from the main roads. Overall, a nice place.

Average and not worth the hype. Rooms are pretty old and unclean that need renovation. Far away from the city with no connectivity cabs available… Food is good but triple the normal price… No High speed WiFi that existing one disconnects every 5 minutes… Cellular Network also didn’t have great coverage… To sum it all that was the cake they provided with great English for our “Medding” Anniversary 🤦🏻‍♂️

Wonderful and spacious! Great food and service. We walked in for dinner and ended up spending more than 3 hours in the vast lawn, the big chess set and the thoughtful children play area. The place is well lit in the night and neatly maintained too!

Pool room cottages are great. However, don’t take ocean facing rooms if they give you ground floor. Insist on 1st floor rooms if you want a ocean facing room. Best is pool room cottages. Room service is pathetic and takes forever. Waiters at the restaurant are efficient and friendly and ever smiling Front desk people are non smiling hitlerish I had stayed in room 304 pool room and 205 ocean facing ground floor room

The rooms were clean but minor details were neglected. Hand towels were not given. Exhaust fan should be provided in the wash room. The television connection was not recharged in advance and had very limited channels. A railing should be provided on the staircase to enable guests to climb comfortably. Battery operated cars should be easily available for elderly guests to move to and fro from the restaurant. The music at the pool was extremely loud in week ends. The volume was not lowered on request. The waiters were very polite and courteous and extended every help to get access to the food served. The watchman at the beach gate was alert and helpful. The garden is well laid out, though the sprinklers did wet the clothes of guests who were moving towards the restaurant. Good layout and property.

Had a villa with private pool, rooms were good and clean. Food variety and taste were good(generally food taste will be bad in the resort restaurant). Highly recommend the hotel. Walkable distance to the beach and beach activity. Very far away from pondicherry city and heritage town and should have a private vehicle or private cab for easy access.

This property mentions itself as a 4 star property, but it needs a hell lot of maintanence. From the rooms to the bathrooms all need a lot of work. The bathrooms are in a pity full state. We had 3 rooms , though the service of the staff is good but overall the property needs lot of work, wifi doesn’t work and the food is very avg . The breakfast was cold on both days . It has a good potential of being a good property with some work. Not at all happy with its current state

We recently held our corporate sales conference at Le Pondy resort. The property is beautiful and located close to the beach. The rooms are spacious and perfect for corporate and leisure activities. We received great support from the staff specially Mr Abraham, Mr Bala and Mr Bibin who assisted us during the entire event.

Outdated, rundown property where guests are greeted by the sorry atmosphere in the rooms that look like a 3rd grade hospital facility. to add to the misery the staff takes no responsibility to assist the damning situation. The website photographs are a 100% misleading & untrustworthy. There is no service available of food and drinks at any of their outlets. For a 4 star rated hotel, the bathroom vanity products were 1star. Please do not visit. We checked out 1 day early and forfeited our prepaid amount on 4 rooms due to the horrible experience.

Le Pondy is a gorgeous property. Do check out the pictures. The staff were very helpful and courteous. We had to buy something urgently for the child and they helped fetch it with the help of their staff, which they could have easily said no. We celebrated our wedding anniversary there and they helped setup a lovely pool side dinner and cake and my family loved it. They have a private beach maintained by them. Though we couldn't use it due to our timings, it was well maintained. The children's play area was also nicely maintained. Good indoor games options were also available. The food , whatever we tried was very good! It was indeed a memorable stay at Le Pondy.

It's a Beachfront property. Rooms are spacious with all amenities Buffet spread is nice and decent .. limited options of North Indian food. Service is excellent. Highly recommended. The property is superb! Private beach, lawn, kids play area, pool, food, etc. everything was very nice but looking at the rooms it's quite evident they are old & might need some maintenance. The room we stayed in, it's electric kettle wasn't working, during rains water seeped in from somewhere (maybe window gaps or ceiling)we didn't get to know. We didn't complain as we were about to leave & satisfied with everything else. Ofcourse one can't expect anything be perfect 😉

Everything was good except the room service The stay was nice. We had booked lake view rooms. The rooms are excellent with a special sitting area in front of it. They also transport faculty to move withing the resort Only thing poor was room service. Despite calling them 3 times no1 came to switch on the tv The food is also good. Variety is available in buffet. They have access to beach and their swimming pool is also clean. They provide swimming tubes for kids. And they also have kids play area Overall nice place to stay for family.

Recently went for Buffet Dinner. All items and dishes were good , but more north side dishes are more nearly 80% . As a South Indian we have only lesser number of items at buffet and less spicy only . If more spicy means it will be good. Welcome drink was good. Service and place were good but place is located too far inside from the main road. It's better to go within 8pm at night if you are coming with ladies.

Le Pondy Review A nice resort, but solidly 4 stars. I stayed in a villa. The villa itself is very nice. The outdoor bathroom was a surprise, but my friends and I were fans (mostly). Personal preference. There was an AC unit that was far too loud near my room. There’s an outdoor bar for the pool, but looks like it hasn’t been used in a while. The private beach access doesn’t provide towels, or sun shades, much less drink service. Beach hours (6am - 6pm) need to be expanded to include sunrise/sunset. Otherwise, the sand is finer and water is clearer than Chennai. Enjoy if you can stand the heat. Restaurant is pretty good and has a wide variety, as does the bar. I wish the resorts would improve the road that leads up to them; I was afraid I’d be Taken, and Liam Neeson is getting old.

Great place to unwind and relax. Went on a vacation trip to Pondicherry and opted for Le Pondy. Took a luxury pool villa. Swimming pool within a villa. Perfect rooms, ambience. Food was also very good. With a private beach access, you can also enjoy the uncrowded clean beach which is not possible in a public beach in India. A must visit resort.

A perfect beach resort. It has one of the cleanest beaches in Puduchery.. the rooms are great and food is very good as well.. the pool is big and as kids play area. Game room is small but they have a big chess board. Staff are courteous but the service is slow. Dining area is open which makes is not so stuffy when completed occupied.

The location of the resort is too good and the beach is one of the cleanest. Do not miss the morning sunrise and walk along the beach. They have a big swimming pool and lot of open areas. Next to resort there are water sports which are really good. The buffet breakfast was good but the buffet lunch and dinner are just fine. If you order items Ala-Carte the taste of food is good. The rooms are clean and setup to feel like old houses.

3 points for the site...awesome place. Private beach. And very nice architecture. I point for restaurant. Food was really good. Relaxed dining next to the pool. I will take away one point for the staff. They always looked stress. One simple query and the expression on the face was as if I have asked for their wallet at gun point. Worth recommending .

This Resort was the best in food n entertainment. I am a strict vegetarian, here they were serving veg and non-veg maintaining separately. Staff are very polite. Their private beach was awesome kids enjoyed alot, prices are little expensive but worth visiting 😀 They have laundry as well . I didn't go for a spa in this resort, swimming pool also well maintained. Overall I liked it, looking forward to visit again😜
