What a nice place to stop for lunch!! Was en route to Cape Town and stopped in Colesberg. Found this little place and had some AMAZING food for lunch. People here are super friendly and made our stop worth it!! And price wise..... this was a bargin!!!!!

Great place. Modest and cozy with friendly efficient service. The barman is a great lad too. Good Pizza and wonderful vibe. I would give it 6 stars.

What a gem of a place, staff, food and oh man prices are out of this world. So much character and charm

Great pub. Average food. The accommodation is rubbish. Can't lock the door. The kettle is broken, parking is full. If you order food, order the lamb chops. Everything else is frozen and defrosted. Next time I'll stay in Richmond at ka-ma lodge. Its cheaper and better and the food is stunning!!

Drove through town and stopped here for lunch and there food was amazing and very big portions and friendly service

We purchased pizzas as part of our meal for the long drive from JHB. They had to substitute some ingredients for the pizzas we had ordered but this is to be expected from a small town pizzaria. Nonetheless it's still a great spot to get a quick meal as you drive to JHB or CPT.

The food was excellent as well as the service. Found the dining room exceptionally cold, so, moves to sit in the pub. It was pleasant, however, as mon-smokers, the cigarette smoke smell is over powering.

We were staying at a nearby guesthouse and ordered food for delivery. I specifically ordered a burger without cheese and upon delivery , realised that it had cheese. We then asked them to bring a new burger - they said they can’t and we should just take the cheese off . Firstly , the cheese was melted onto the patty and secondly (most importantly) - they messed up the order and still expected us to fix it , mind you I had already paid . After sharing my words of dissatisfaction, then only they agreed to bring a new burger. Definitely terrible service . Also don’t order their lasagne , it’s nothing like traditional lasagne and doesn’t taste good.

Vey disappointing. Although not bussy we have waited 2 hours to receive cold food. The waiter's defence was that the owner is not on duty to arrange the kitchen operation! Good for lunch I think...

Hi. Just had yet another wonderful experience at the horse and Mill. 2nd time in a week. The manageress served us, and was very professional and helpful. The food was lovely. Will return hopefully sometime in the near future. A big thank you.

The last time I was here was in 2021. I received great service and food back then but yesterday after almost 2 years of not visiting the joint, I was disappointed. The waitress was nice but they served us raw steak after asking for well done meat, it was cold and their heaters were not working and they couldn't provide us with a movable heater. We were so cold that we couldn't wait to eat and leave, we took that raw meat back home with us to cook it furthermore. I don't what happened to the place.
