Luckily we arrived at a time in the morning when nobody else was there. The sound of the water playing melodically in the background while the view left itself to be seen. Below a fish eagle caught some prey then perched in a tree before giving off its signature call. It was well worth the stop.

Great views. Take the gravel path on the right hand side of the koppie when facing the dam wall. It will take you to where the old information centre used to be and you will have a great view of the dam wall.

Beautiful to experience. View to die for. If only the lookout could be restored to its former glory and not just a cement slab.

Massive and beautiful dam. We sadly didn't stay over but did add it to our bucket list. For guys with boats or jetski's, this dam seem to be a good spot to play around.

Don't tell anybody about this beautiful viewpoint, else they'll litter more and my nice quiet spot which is one of very few places that I can walk my dogs on the trip from Cradock to Bloemfontein. Four to five star views with a decent three star rating. I'll definitely go again but that's not only because I love pretty views but mostly because I have dogs that need somewhere safe to walk away from busy roads. Very pretty there. Just needs some dustbins and a touch of TLC to neaten it up. Worth the stop though even though it is a small detour off the road.

Great view but there's nothing else there. Not much in the way of maintenance or cleaning of the area

Good viewing spot to view the Gariep Dam from. Seems as if the view would be great if the floodgates are open. Good for a 5 minute stop.

Fantastic view - definitely worth the short drive. Clean and definitely not congested - a bit of a hidden gem!

View partially obstructed by tree. Trash everywhere. Steel balustrade stolen.

Beautiful views. Tar roads but lots of 4x4 routes on dirt if you have one.

Great view of the dam wall leading out into to the orange river. The municipality could do a better job of cleaning up the area though.
