The cutest little guesthouse filled with antique and vintage pieces and charm. Also cosy with modern necessities. A lovely little cottage garden to relax privately in i loved it 😊

If you’re driving down on the N1 towards Cape Town or the Western Cape or vice versa towards Johannesburg, and need a place to rest and stay, then I’d highly recommend Spes Bona Guesthouse. Situated not far off the N1 and directly opposite a OK Supermarket (literally across the road, if you want to buy food or booze) and the neighbourhood is very quiet. The owners are wonderful people who are well prepared for your arrival and make you feel at home! They’re very helpful with local knowledge and are available to assist if need be. Everything is provided as it’s a bed and breakfast (we didn’t stay for breakfast as we had a early start). There is facilities available to Braai, which we did! Great playground area for the toddler’s and full DStv access in each room, with TV and air con and en suite bathrooms. I would recommend this guest house to anyone looking for a stopover to reenergise themselves or just for a relaxing rest. The pictures don’t do the Spes Bona Guesthouse justice! You’d need to experience the hospitality to fully appreciate it. PS. Every room has rechargeable “LED Lights” available for those load shedding nights.

This is a very neat and tidy Guesthouse. We spent one night there on our way to the coast from Gauteng and enjoyed our stay. It is pet friendly, and they ensured we had backup lights for the loadshedding. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming.

Only bad thing is every room doesnt have theyre own entrance. U share a entrance with people who had 3 dogs and if you want to leave you have to wait for the people to wake up and put the dogs away, a bit of a inconvenience i would say. Loadshedding didnt bother us

Very friendly welcoming. Felt like home. Kids loved the playground outside. Kids are welcome to run around and be themselves. Lovely to have a braai, coffee when arrived and a nice warm comfortable bed to get a good nites rest. Highly recommend.

We have been ushered into a wonderful place where the 2 Rottweilers have eventually calmed down after a hectic trip from Gauteng. What a gem!

We had the pleasure of staying over at Spes Bona Gastehuis. It is a beautiful, peaceful guesthouse with everything you could need. The hostess even provided a flask for hot water and lamps in case of loadshedding. Super clean and neat. The furniture is beautiful antique pieces and the beautiful artworks are carefully selected original oil paintings that add to the homely atmosphere. Child friendly and very convenient as it is just off the highway and walking distance from shops. I highly recommend this guesthouse- especially for those wanting to stop over halfway when traveling between Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Location close to the highway makes it very easy to get to. The room was clean and had everything we could need. It's also dog-friendly, which was a must for us.

We felt so welcome there from the start. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Most of all, there was a garden in which my Golden Retriever could play. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Always overnight at Spes Bona. In winter the rooms are warm and the beds are warmed with electric blankets. The management are wonderful, and accommodating to your needs. Very clean and neat establishment. Love Spes Bona!

Very friendly and accommodating hosts. A fantastic breakfast which was definitely worth the low price. Lovely comfortable bed with an electric blanket which was definitely welcome. The TV had a broad DSTV package. The only negatives were the shower, which I suspect shared a geyser as part way through I temporarily had no hot water, which in the middle of winter with snowfall in parts of the country, came as a shock, and the free wifi which unfortunately had a very weak signal so was slow and at times none existent.

The hosts were warm and welcoming. I loved the interior. Great location, walking distance from grocery store and great restaurants. Lovely stoep overlooking their garden for a sundowner or morning coffee.

What a great place. The pet friendly garden allowed our dogs to run around after a long journey. The accomodation and bedding was extremely clean which made our stay pleasurable.
