All that a tired traveller wants is EXACTLY what you get at this fabulous overnight stay. A seamless and quick check in - most of us are desperate to go to the loo and get out of the car. A CLEAN room. A spotless shower and toilet. Perfectly crisp and clean linen. Firm and soft pillows. A state of the art silent air conditioner that works. A coffee and tea station that would put most "hotels" to shame. Parking for your vehicle close to your room for easy access - carrying luggage in and out (well thought out !) Comfortable beds with a concrete base which eradicates every single bed complaint a hotel could have ! Solid, firm and not sagging anywhere. Absolutely one of the cleanest establishments we have stayed in on our 12 day road trip. Last hotel on your way to Cape Town but first on your way back to Johannesburg. Thank you. A really great, well thought out hotel. Manuel and Jen

On our way back to Cape Town from Hartbeespoort we decided to sleep in Colesberg, and I am glad we found the Sunset Chalets for our overnight. We stayed in one of Luxury Family Rooms which was spacious and very comfortable. You get all your basic amenities as well as a TV with DSTV and an air conditioner (it can get very warm here). The rooms are all behind a security gate which was very important to us as we were coming back from a long holiday with a car and trailer packed full to the brim. Across from our room (also behind the security gate) was a big lawn and playground so after a long drive the kids have a safe place to let off some steam. The staff were friendly and as the Sunset Chalets are located close to the N1 it was easy to find and quick to get back on the road again the next morning for our journey home.

Very safe place with a private pool to cool off from your journey. The beds are perfect after a long road trip. The man at reception is very professional and friendly. Easy access to the highway, engen fuel station and KFC.

What a pleasure to do business with Sunset. Weary travellers are treated like royalty and the accommodation is superb. We randomly decided to stop overnight and had no reservation. We were welcomed and immediately allocated a chalet. Accommodation is clean and comfortable. Thank you fo a pleasant night's rest. We will definitely make use of your facilities again. Highly recommended.

Cleanest and most pleasant overnight stay. Definitely recommended. And a visit from Mr "Jack Russel" the sight manager 🐕 our highlight. Thank you Sunset Chalets 🏆

Booked because it was listed as pet friendly. On arrival was asked to sign in and promptly received a lecture about not informing him that we had a dog with us...no welcome greeting just a lecture about the dog and all damages would be for our account. I have traveled all over the world but this is the first stay where no arrival greeting was forthcoming! Accommodation and cleanliness perfect, some road noise from the highway and no heating from the aircon on a cold night. Property well maintained, pity about the arrival scenario.

We stopped over in Colesberg at Sunset Chalets twice. It would probably be the last 2 two times as well. The friendliness was okay but it felt like they would have rather been somewhere else when we checked in on both occasions. The property itself seems well taken care of and neat. The rooms layout is okay, since it's more of just a stop over it is reasonable. My biggest upset is that I do not think they wash their bedding after every visit for their guests. We found a used wet wipe in the bed. It can also get pretty noisy with cars driving by and some other residents on their properties but it was not that bad.

It is perfect as a stopover on the N1 between Cape town and Johannesburg. Clean, Safe, Neat, Comfortable and to the point. No dining facilities, but near everything. Note, everything closes early in this town.

Very clean, quiet and close to major motorway. I stay there all the time on my trips to the Garden Route

Perfect for overnight stay. Wonderful sized bathroom. I was impressed with the thoughtfulness of setting up this place. plenty plug points which is normally rare. Very clean. Tiled throughout. Aircon available. Kitchen area has cutlery and crockery and bar fridge. Only thing I would perhaps add would be a bigger freezer. If I was enroute to a self catering holiday my food would not have fitted. Luckily I stayed here on my way back. The garden area is very nice to just relax and for the kids to run around. Pool is a very decent size. Table and chair benches available for use outside. Had a good stay here

Cleanliness, quick response from owners, a perfect halfway house on route to Capetown. No noise keeping one awake. Guaranteed good night's rest.

Clean neat value for money- cold quiet aircon , hot shower, comfortable bed - perfect overnight option - only reason for not giving 5 stars was dodgy Wi-Fi but otherwise very good.

Perfect for one night stay en route to your destination. Very basic, but perfect for a quick no-nonsense rest before you continue your journey. Very clean, comfortable and with all the necessary amenities one needs for a quick stopover. Not recommended for more than one night stay.

Loved the room and location but because I felt like being called into the principals room, by the man that didn't introduce himself, for not phoning long ahead of time to say that we had a long trailer, I give the service a bad rating. I am a guesthouse owner and would never treat my guests like that.

👍 Driving through the most of Colesberg I was a bit worried about the accommodation I booked online as a stop-over between Johannesburg and Cape Town. I was pleasantly surprised by this charming, old guest house. All the furniture were old, wooden and antique. The room had a ton of space, I basically...

👍 Right next to the N2. Spacious, affordable and comfortable. Aircon would have helped rather than the water cooler as it was extremely hot, but not much with loadshedding. There is a pool but we did not use it. Felt safe as there was a security guard on patrol all night. Ideal for overnight stay. Rec...
