We booked on site to stay over on our way back from holiday - we decided to stay on 4 days extra at our holiday destination. We informed the owner of our extension and enquired about moving our date of arrival with them. Upon request the owner informed us that be is fully booked and we need to look elsewhere. I requested a portion of our monies back. Owner did not even try to have a decent conversation and immediately declined. Once again i did not expect the full amount back. Keep in mind we made the booking on site so therefore no terms and conditions were given, therefore we are in our right to request a full refund. On top of that the owner lied and said he is not the owner and only working for a boss? Funny as he confirmed who he was when we spoke telephonically Its disgusting knowing he keeps money not owed to him and now i read he doesnt fix leaks etc and expects guests to sit with wet carpets due to sewerage. Hai nee sies man. Not okay!!!!!!

Disappointing that they were unable to assist with a partial refund when we were not able to get to Colesburg due to bad weather. To note we booked on the same day and the rooms were empty meaning a cancellation would not negatively effect business.

Crane Cottage was such a blessing after driving the dark and the rain. The host was on top of our arrival and had the rooms ready and heaters on. It was really appreciated. The rooms were clean and spacious. The shower is quite big and water heats up pretty fast. Definitely would recommend this place even if its a night or more!

Crane cottage was definitely a gem. We were well received, fresh clean rooms. Loved the veranda. Got a bit lost on our first visit. The location in the cul de sac is stunning. Never thought I would sleep over in Colesberg, but this was a wise decision. Thank you to the hosts. May you go from strength to strength.

2023-08-01 Thrilled to have stumbled upon this hidden gem at the end of a tiring day. An ideal spot for remote work after spending hours on the roadβ€”perfect for digital nomads, or a couple working as digital nomads. Situated in a charming and picturesque small town, this residence offers a delightful living space. The staff is welcoming, and the accommodations are well-suited for a small family. The premises boast secure parking and entry. You have the option of using the dining table in the kitchen as a workstation, or you can head out to the small private courtyard connected to the room, also suitable for a comfortable workspace if you have a laptop. Alternatively, there's a small desk in the entrance hall with ample power outlets. The bathroom features a spacious shower and a bathtub, along with a gas boiler. The Wi-Fi is consistently reliable for work, and there's backup power available during load-shedding. The soothing sound of the church bells chiming on the hour adds a comforting touch to the ambiance when you are busy in the early mornings of the morning instead of being asleep. While it's a self-catering arrangement, there are a few restaurants in the vicinity that can provide delivery service if you prefer not to cook. Some of their kitchens stay open until nine or ten pm. Additionally, a few pubs are nearby.

I absolutely adore this place. I will never stay anywhere else again when traveling through Colesberg. The hosts are fantastic and the immediately came out to receive me before I even switched off my car. Everything is perfect and more than you'd expect. There are so many extras that aren't even mentioned in their adds. Wonderful place.

We stayed over in flat 1 on route to Pretoria and arrive back 5 days later using the same facility. The toilet leak was still not fixed and we had to cope with a wet (sewage leak) carpet in the bathroom. Cutlery plates and bowles not enough for 4 people. Same with Coffee and suger...no milk. Kitchen zink tap loose. 1 Aircon not working and fan noisy. The place realy needs a handiman touch up! The hosts were very friendly but won't use this facilty again.

Rustic style cottage but would have liked for the shower 🚿 to have been cleaner and away from the kitchen sink...I was okay as a night pit stop on long drive

Crane Cottage is in Colesberg, in the heart of the Karoo. Very hot, dry summers. Lovely, rustic and charming cottage. Very different but lovely. Excellent place to stay ... Very down to earth, pleasant owner. Well done Colesberg πŸ‘

πŸ‘πŸ‘ The accommodation was clean, neat, and up to date. There was ongoing maintenance which was a good indication of ongoing investment in the facilities. The beds were fantastic which is the primary factor in my book. The bathroom had the first double shower that I've encountered. The site facilities ar...
