Stayed here for two nights. IMO does measure up compared to similar in Colesberg. No hot water on the morning of my departure, as experienced by another guest as well. I was promised a refund but later brushed off by the owner. Google indicates air conditioning which is false, unless one equates a fan with an air conditioner. Place not clean. Not recommended.

Rarely do you get a chance to experience a piece of our history like you do whilst staying at Coniston. Built in 1835 and still owned and operated by the original family. Comfortable well appointed guest suites and serene 'oasis style gardens. And walking distance to town and restaurants. Please stay here for your overnighter on your trip through.

Great place to stay. Central Town, restaurants are walking distance and Coniston Guesthouse 0713.537.537 is very affordable.

We had a very nice stay. The host, Petter, was very welcoming and informative. The B and B is very close to Bars and Restaurants which is all within walking distance. It's also very safe! Just too expensive for what you get. No TV. And only a microwave and a sign that asks you not to eat inside.

Extremely poor service !! Tried to book accommodation, first cellphone number does not exist. Finally got hold of manager, requested booking but he did not get back to us. Would definitely not recommend

Stayed overnight at Coniston House on two separate occasions. We loved it. Very comfortable and clean and the breakfast was great! The owner and her son, Giles, are lovely people and are people of integrity. My daughter accidentally left her camera there and I received an email from Giles, to let us know that they had found the camera and would keep it for us until we could collect it. Will definitely be back!

Excellent value for money, wonderful service. What a quirky gem, the house built in 1835 is perfectly charming it looks like something from Provence. It's a national heritage site with the original mud brick walls so damp is a problem. However the rooms and linen were squeaky clean, the beds comfortable. Our family room had a fridge and tea and coffee amenities. Plenty of extra blankets and the double bed even had an electric blanket. Very comfortable. If you like quirky interesting places and a bargain this is for you.

The owner really went out of his way to help us out in the middle of the night. This will now be my preferred stop

The guesthouse is old and in need of attention. Unfortunately, on the night we stayed over the towns water supply was out. We had a safe and fairly comfortable sleep but departed early the water supply had still not been restored.

If youโ€™re not into old world charm, this isnโ€™t the place for you. Wooden antique floors and a beautiful spiral staircase take you back to yesteryear. Itโ€™s a clean and comfy place to stop over on a drive down to Cape Town from Joburg, although the beds are probably due for replacement. Also, itโ€™s probably better to skip breakfast and find something on the road.
