My grandpa used to bring me here when I was a child. I have seen this restaurant evolve across the years, and it was always for good, but keeping what always worked well: nice food, good service, comfy ambient. Of course you gotta try their famous grilled shrimps, but let me just give you a tip here in case you have hiked around, are not wearing fancy clothes and want to eat something on a Sunday afternoon: go early (up to 13.00h) and ask to be served on the counter. 150% recommended. Even if it’s 40km from plaza Mayor, it worth the trip. Staff is incredibly fast and proactive. Nice and careful. Food is amazingly fresh and delicious : you can’t go there without having shrimps. Wine list is reasonably priced and inventive. Kids can enjoy games outside over watch by four staff members!

Nice place, good staffs. But, foods was not nice present to served. I visite again on Apr. 2, 2023 it a bit better foods present.

There is not enough words to describe what a great restaurant Sala is : killer wine list , very attentive service on the bar and the table , sensational value and the very best prawns in Madrid. A must go !

A bit on the pricier side but overall a delightful meal. Service was perfectly correct and waiting times were shorter than advised even during very busy times. Highlights for us where the grilled prawns—the house specialty. Don’t hesitate to order the calamari on ciabatta (a Madrid classic wonderfully executed here), the bluefin tuna tartare, and the Hake cheeks—without a doubt one of our favourite fish dishes ever. Being very picky, we found the 3 desserts we chose slightly underwhelming, as well as the quality of their coffee. Nothing particularly bad, just not up to the level of the rest of their menu.

Overpriced place that has nothing special about it. Strongly recommend you to stay away. These pseudo authentic places make me sad and annoyed. And portions look like they are designed for a 3 years kids. For the price they ask I expect to be really good, and not this. This visit ruined my day. Classical ripoff for those who have money and have no taste.

If you ask for the best gambas in Madrid? Absolutely Salas is one of the choices to take into consideration. Nice and open place in a amaizin environment and great food at the right price. This is one of my recommendation.
