Wow! This was nice. Whilst certainly cooler inside, I opted to sit alfresco, with shade. In the heat of day, the on tap Ginger Beer went down easily, with me soon looking for another. As recommended by the delightful staff, I had beef cheek curry with rice. So tasty. As I was finishing my meal the gentle singing of the live performer filled the air. Recommended, for a casual drink or something more, if you are in the area.

Ordered lamb rump - cooked to perfection. The trio of chips were unique and they were PERFECT! The sweet potato chips are to die for, I’m already trying to figure out when to come back for them! The staff & chefs are lovely and friendly. 100% recommended! Visit number 2: still yum but they’ve altered menu, no lamb rump😢. All fries/ wedges still to die for & all staff are so lovely! Must support this little gem!

Hands down the worst pub meal I have ever partially eaten. We have been here before and the food was good, but today something went very wrong in the kitchen. We ordered the haloumi burger and the meatballs. The meatballs were inedible. One bite of the tepid, dry balls was enough. The burger was diabocally bad. It came out on a white Coles bakery bun with some iceberg lettuce, 1 thick circle of red onion and it was so salty that all I could taste was salt. The McCain wedges were warm (my friend spat his out into the serviette) and to top it all off, the beer wasn't cold (unforgiveable). The male waiter was lovely. The unmasked waitress could clearly see there was an issue with the food, but didn't bother to ask. NEVER AGAIN.

Decent meal for lunch. I had no idea the majority of the menu was Thai before we arrived so that was a nice surprise. Good food for the most part and the cheapest soft drink jug that I've seen in Adelaide at $8. Only losing a star because it was a little on the pricy side for a hotel (most mains over $30) and the fried rice tasted great but was quite oily.

Tried the fish here which was very well made, served with Sambal and Chilli. My only qualm is the size of the Mains. I ordered it from the menu page that said Mains (to Share) and was underwhelmed by the quantity of the food. My feedback would be to write in the Menu that the portion would only be 108gm and remove it from the Mains (to share) section. It's not enough for one person, forget sharing. The experience was 3 star for me because cost wise it's not worth it. However, not reducing the stars.

Scotch Fillet steak cooked medium rare was not seared right, not rested at all. Middle was basically blue. Still had tendon attached, lots of gristle and way overpriced at $38 for 240g. No idea what you did with roast potatoes as they were soggy lumps as you put the steak on them and because you didn’t rest it is bled all over it. Some soggy Asian greens, and whatever leafy things. Peppercorn sauce was more watery beef stock with no distinct flavour and black peppercorns that also had no flavour. Service was excellent but prices were very high without being warranted. Bar staff need training as more red wine went into bar mat than in glass, beers not poured right and wasted a lot at the tap, but meant beers not crisp when they should be. People smoking outside in designated eating and non smoking area and your staff did nothing.

I booked for 8 people for lunch on Sunday by the Open Table app. My booking was accepted and I received a confirmation message. On Saturday I received a message asking me to confirm my booking which I did. When we arrived, a local told us that the Rob Roy was closed and had been since Christmas Eve, with no idea how long it would be closed for. I'm not happy at all. There were no notes on the door to explain the closure; nothing on the site to let us know beforehand that they were closed. Luckily, we found a lovely place quite close which quickly organised a table for us.

When here randomly after our netball match and I was blown away by the size of my mea and the great service. Firstly we got there at 21:49 and the kitchen was due to close imminently but We called ahead and was told the kitchen closes at 22:00. So the bar tender thankfully agreed to get us some food. The best bar tender in town also for making our mug of cocktail. Why not give it. Try if you come to Adelaide

Went with friends on Sunday for lunch. Lovely decor, staff were attentive and happy to wait for us stragglers to arrive. The food was great. My son, of course, had to experience the burger and gave it the thumbs up. The arancini was yum too, as was my pollo avocado, which was a huge serve! Everyone in our group enjoyed the meal. I am not as acquainted with that side of town and having read reviews in regards to parking, and with road closures on the East side for the Adelaide 500 coming up, I opted to park in a more familiar setting and taxi it to the hotel. In retrospect, there were ample parking options for our 1pm meet up. Definitely recommend you try this place for a feed.

Nice place for a pub meal. The food is really good, with good sized portions. The staff are excellent, specially 'Zee' the manager is really hospitable and friendly. It's easy to make a booking online and the response is very quick and prompt. This place has comfy indoor and outdoor seating options. Lovely place to go alone or with mates. Parking on the street is easily available and not a hassle. Will definately be going there again soon.

We use the function room at the Rob Roy Hotel each month for our Speakers Tribe SA events and love it! The staff are always friendly and helpful, the room is always set up exactly how we have asked, and they are always willing to help us with any audio or technical issues to ensure our event runs smoothly each time. The meals there are delicious, and they have added a new menu recently that is amazing. I love that there is a good range of choices too. We love using this venue as it is also well located in the city and usually easy to find parks nearby. I would definitely recommend you try them for dinner, or if you are holding an event it's definitely worth considering the Rob Roy Hotel as your location!

Very hesitant to come here as 5 years ago had a very bad experience, but noticed it was under new management so as it's close to home decided to give it a go. Firstly the staff compared to 5 years ago were wonderful, very attentive and helpful. Secondly the food is outstanding, we had the wagu fried rice and it was so moreish will have to go back just for this. We also tried the crispy pork bites which went really well with the rice. This chef really knows how to cook so will definitely have no hesitation in going back to try other things on the menu, but of course will have to have the rice. Good job guys

Wow, went for a quick drink and ended up having dinner. The food is fantastic and the menu is excellent with the Asian influence. Dumplings with a spectacular light curry sauce. Perfect place for a mid week dinner. It is exceptionally clean. Very impressive!

Despite being in a pub I decided to try the Asian menu and was pleasantly surprised - my red duck curry was delicious. Generous serve of meat included and a good amount of spice. Good drinks menu and friendly staff.

Very hard place to review. Had lunch with family here Sunday and our food was nice enough with being outstanding. Staff members were friendly but both mentioned they were short staffed and new to the job which in my eyes is a bit unprofessional. They forgot my meal also but was brought out 10 minutes later so not too much delay.

Best Eggplant Schnitzel in Adelaide. Vego/Vegan peeps get around it! Full selection of Coopers on tap too.

Been here twice once for a dinner and once for Christmas event. Food on the Asian influenced menu is delicious, pub fare is decent and very generous portions. However, service is sometimes lacking. Had issues with the dinner with wrong items/sizes being brought out, and one issue where we were charged for something we didn't order. Christmas event service had issues where huge amount of staff working, but only 1-2 serving drinks at bar causing huge waits. Otherwise decent, best to go when it's a bit quieter in my experience.

May 2023 We walked In And Were Kindly Shown To The Last Unreserved Table (Without A Booking). The Wait and Bar Staff Were Professional, New What They Were Doing & Extremely Helpful. The Food Was Absolutely Delicious, Fresh, Crisp And Generally Delightful. Quick Service Too. We Had Time To Sit And Relax And Enjoy. The Atmosphere Was Excellent. Immaculately Clean. One Of The Best Dining Experiences I Have Had In 30 years. Well Done Rob Roy Hotel See You For Dinner Again Soon.

Been here a few times with work and have had a great experience. Unfortunately since the new ownership the quality has severely declined. Lines to the bar had an average wait time of 30 minutes before being served, and many people missed out on their drinks before the tab somehow ran out. When asked how the tab could have possibly run out the response was “lagging software” and were only refunded a fraction of the price. Sadly we won’t be back.

We went onto the pancake kitchen as every one was very hungry they were fantastic for the time of night just not our first choice for a special occasion wrecked thanks to the Rob Roy the name Rob is appropriate

Iveson Wedding Troy and Alana's Wedding, was simply the best my wife and I have ever attended. Food, service and staff were all top notch. The Ballroom although small on scale of others, was fantastic and well decorated. Back smoking area needs to be sorted and opened to guests. It would make an awesome BEER GARDENS in summer. Loved it all and Soraya did an awesome job as Pub Hostess.

Rob Roy is Adelaide's best kept secret. I came here for lunch on Friday 19 March 2021. The chef here is very, very good! The 300g sirloin steak, medium rare, was perfectly chargrilled with an intense smokey aroma but the masterpiece was the sweet potato wedges, the best I have ever tasted in my life! Outside it is light and crispy without any hint of grease, and inside all buttery creamy melt in the mouth moistness. The steak comes with red wine jus but you can choose from a wide selection of sauces. Though cooked to perfection, I do not recommend the steak because the steak itself is too lean and dry, perhaps because it is sirloin and not Scotch. The Black Forrest treat totally exceeded my expectations. Even better than Black Forrest cake. So, so fresh and light, yet chocolatey and creamy, with a dollop of cherry coulis and syrup in between layers. Divine with a cup of steaming hot and really good coffee. Will be back soon, for sure.

It's amazing there! We had a hens night and they were so accommodating and all the guests said it was the best night ever. Zee was fantastic at helping organise and be flexible due to covid. Can't recommend them enough!

The manager was fantastic. She managed to give us the service and food we want and more. What’s good about this restaurant is the excellence of the food and the polite and beyond expectation customer service. I highly recommend this hotel/restaurant to anyone who wants to do parties/events or just eat with family and friends.

Good looking space, good service, but I was disappointed by the chicken burger. A bit plain and way too much mayo. Kind of thing I’d expect to get at a chip shop for half the price. Not bad but not justifying the price compared to other near by pubs.

Had a great dinner here last night with the family. Food was amazing! I haven’t been to the Rob Roy for a few years and am very impressed by the renovations, such a beautiful and cosy environment, staff are super friendly also.

A while ago we were there for a friends birthday (surprise) and my friend who accompanied me had certain food allergies, which can make dining out very tricky (canola oil) Of course the waitress we had went above and beyond to help my friend find something she could eat that wouldn’t make her sick. It helped make the night that much more enjoyable for us.

Had lunch for 2 on a Cudo voucher. The whole experience was excellent. The food was quality AND quantity and the service was fast and friendly. Thoroughly recommend. UPDATE: Have returned regularly and the standard has not wained. A hidden gem of premium pub meals.

I've never walked out from a restaurant before so it was pretty disappointing. My partner and I came for our anniversary so to have to walk out and find somewhere else to go at 8pm was a pretty poor experience. We waited an hour before leaving. They did offer us a free drink but we hadn't eaten so it wasn't the best thing to have. I just don't know how an entree couldn't even come out. People behind us said they were leaving too. Maybe it was a bad night and something happened but it's not fair on reservations and you can't expect people to wait that long for an appetiser.

Very lovely staff, friendly and helpful. Food average for a pub. Nice music and atmosphere. Let down by the food...won't be in a rush to go back.

Came here on a $100 Groupon deal. Very generous servings. Even with wine we struggled to finish the food. Attention of the staff was second to none. Their small servings were full meals. Best time to go is around 6 pm as any latter street parking could be a problem. Throughly enjoyed our experience. Photo is a small portion meal Meat Balls and Salt and pepper squid.

The waiter who was with us today was so attentive and delightful. The food here was hearty as heck and I left feeling like I could just roll out the door. The atmosphere was cozy, but the restaurant was quite cool. I did not sample the wine, but almost every other patron had a glass. Would definitely recommend for family or friend get togethers. What a lovely location.
