Although
the
staff
was
pleasant,
bar
manager
and
front
desk
manager,
I
am
appalled
and
surprised
by
the
franchise
policy
of
not
renting
rooms
to
locals.
I
just
wanted
a
night
to
myself,
and
despite
having
money/credit
cards
and
willing
to
pay
the
fees
and
incidentals,
I
was
told
I
could
not
book
a
room
because
I
was
a
“local
resident”.
To
me,
this
policy
seems
silly,
discriminatory,
and
left
me
feeling
bad.
I
have
never
run
into
a
hotel
with
the
policy
and
have
easily
booked
rooms
at
other
hotels
in
town
with
no
issue.
I
did
call
corporate
and
filed
a
formal
complaint,
but
I
think
the
owner
should
re-evaluate
this
policy.
Walla
Walla
is
a
local
driven,
small
town.
Just
seems
like
a
bad
business
practice.
The
only
positive
here
is
the
very
nice
employees
who
were
patient
in
explaining
the
strange
policy.
And
to
respond
to
the
owner’s
response…
you
are
preemptively
assuming
that
any
local
is
going
to
trash
your
rooms/
do
drugs?
How
is
it
that
your
hotel
is
the
only
hotel
where
I’ve
ever
seen
such
a
policy??
Do
you
not
have
proper
insurances
in
place?
As
far
as
displaced
housing
goes,
I’m
sorry,
but
are
your
front
desk
attendants
trained
psychologists
as
well?
How
do
they
determine
who
needs
emergency
housing
and
who
doesn’t?
Do
you
really
need
to
put
a
paying
customer
through
the
experience
of
telling
you
if
they
they
are
in
danger/why
they
might
need
a
place
to
stay?
What
if
they
are
scared,
nervous,
embarrassed?
Again,
as
a
hotel
you
are
discriminating
and
what
you
are
doing
is
bad
business
practice.
