Als Österreicher erwartet man in Italien in Strandnähe Preise die einen Umhauen. Da kann ein Cappuccino schon mal 3,50 und mehr kosten, ein Coke 4,50 und ein trockenes Brioche auch 3 Euro. Trotzdem, wir hatten Lust nach 3 verregneten Tagen in Siena, angekommen unterm blauen Himmel in Livorno, wartend auf den Check in einen schnellen Kaffee in Strand Nähe zu nehmen. Also vor weg: Wenn du an einem Morgen mit lachenden, freundlichen Gesichtern, knackfrischem Gebäck, suuuuuper Cafe UND wohlwollend englischer Kommunikation empfangen wirst, ist dein Tag schon mal gut. Es blieb also nicht bei dem einen Kaffee. Es kam Kakao dazu, Brioche mit Pistaziencreme und mit Nougatcreme, diese herrlichen italienischen Mürbteigplätzchen mit Limonchellofüllung und - da wir insgesamt 2,5h dort saßen, abschliessend auch noch eine Pina Cola für meine Frau. Der offensichtliche Chef des Lokals fragte bei letzterer nach, sie würde immerhin mit fünf Euro ins Gewicht fallen. Ich bejahte trotzdem, wir sprechen ja von 20 Meter neben dem Strand. Ein Cocktail an so einem Platz um 5 Euro find ich jetzt nicht wirklich teuer. Vor allem wenn man ihn gekostet hat. Gut, ich geb zu, für mittlerweile Mittagszeit vielleicht doch ein bissi heftig. Aber vor allem, weil man mit der Stärke dieser Pina Colada nicht rechnet. Und damit wird der Preis dann zur Occassion. Generell muss man sagen, dass das Lokal sehr sehr sauber ist. Das beginnt beim scheinbar gefegten Vorgarten und zieht sich durchs gesammte Selbstbedienungslokal bis hin zu den Toiletten, die selbst hinter der Muschel und unter den Hebeln super sauber sind. Das WC ist auch mit einer Wickelkomode ausgestattet. Also alles sehr positiv. Wir waren nochmal dort. Und auch da muss man sagen: Bei hunderten Gästen täglich ist es nicht selbstverständlich, dass dich das Personal wieder erkennt. Zeugt von Aufmerksamkeit und Interesse. Ein Umstand der nicht nur in Italien immer seltener anzutreffen ist. Und das spiegelt sich auch in dem scheinbar etwas strengen Auftreten des Chefs gegenüber des Personals wieder: Immer nett, freundlich, aber mit einem auch für den Gast nicht zu übersehenden Nachdruck. Fein, macht Spaß, wir kommen wieder!

In partenza da Livorno direzione porto X imbarco . Era l’alba , alle 6:30 appena aperto. Ci hanno comunque regalato un sorriso ed un ottimo cappuccino con brioche. Vista mare , anche se c’è una strada di mezzo , poco trafficata a quell’ora ... Ottima sosta piuttosto che fare colazione in nave. Da lì al porto 10 minuti.
