I’m very disappointed with their customer service. Months ago I had put my account on freeze and February and I got charged. I was happy to pay February’s charge because I had forgot to call and cancel—even though no notification is given. Regardless, I had no problem with paying February. I quickly called the gym and asked if I could have my membership cancelled. I was told it was no problem that I couldn’t make it in the gym to cancel and that it would be taken care of and if anything arose I would be contacted. I recently checked my bank statement and months of fees have been charged. I called the gym and asked why this was and they explained they do not do over the phone cancellations. Had I been told this the first time I tried to cancel my membership I would have found another way to cancel, but I was not told this in any sense— i was told my membership would have no problem being cancelled. I had asked for a manager to call me and I have no received a call.

So apparently it’s free gym summer for teenagers so if your a paying member you get to watch as groups of teenagers who aren’t even working out sit around the gym machines FaceTiming and playing on their phones because it’s become a FREE hangout spot for them. Also don’t even think of getting off any equipment to even put your waits back and grab another set or a group of them will surround you and ask if your done. I have never been interrupted more in a gym session. Maybe there’s a reason you shouldn’t make the gym free? Or maybe you should just open to everyone? I’m sure that will be a good business strategy.

I went today to the Mt. Lebanon location of Planet Fitness for second time after the club reopened its doors for clients. What an incredible disappointment I met from the stuff. Many people on the back weren't wearing their masks on their faces. Majority had them around their necks?!? Oblivious and ignorant, right? Well, when one lady passed me by twice without ANY mask on her face nor her neck (at least to had one out of shame or respect for others), I raised my voice to the stuff. The manager, Marissa, said that she can't do anything about it because there are people with medical conditions. My question to her was if she requests a medical card for prove. Answer was no. Nobody is wearing their masks in the back section of the fitness club. The state should pay them a visit and they should just shut down the club for not complying with the requirements.

The gym has been fine, friendly staff. But ever since school has let out, the gym has become a teenager hangout. Some are fine but most gather in groups and don’t really workout.

There’s a random dude, old guy, walking around mask-policing this locations customers, unstopped by the team members, Jack in particular. When my frustration was voiced to this particular employee, and his team member whose name I forget, I was met with literal eye rolls from Jack. I asked him if he was bored with my complaining. He proceeded to roll his eyes again. Yeah, real mature. Real top drawer employees. Of course there was no manager around.

Terrible customer service, I moved out of state during pandemic while the gyms were closed. Planet fitness location are still closed near me altho it opened up in PA. I called them to cancel the gym membership since I no longer live there and ask them to refund the money back. Planet Fitness is still closed near me. Manager told me she can't refund even tho I no longer live there and gyms are still closed near me. Poor customer service. Don't even worth arguing with manager for $20, she's very stubborn.

The planet fitness in castle Shannon is a little gross compared to the other planet fitnesses in the area. I started going to the planet fitness in Bridgeville an extra 10 minutes out of my way but the equipment is nicer and newer. The cleaning solution is not diluted, fellow customers are considerate and wipe down the equipment after each use which doesn't happen at the one in castle Shannon. I will most likely cancel my membership or switch my primary to the one in Bridgeville going forward.

Unfortunately, the worst part about this gym is the location. The Mt Lebanon shops plaza is a mess. Potholes, lack of sufficient parking, tight lanes, litter, and overflowing garbage cans are disgusting. The gym itself is decent with helpful staff and relatively clean, if not small, facilities.

Nick is always very helpful and friendly! He makes us feel like we are guests in his home! I Love this gym even during COVID I feel safe it is always spotless! Hydro Massage is Amazing! Nick is Awesome!!!!

I’ve been holding off writing this. This location recently got new treadmills. Their appearance is nice, but that’s about it. I do running intervals (high speed, and then low speed quickly) and it takes about 10 seconds for the machine to catch up. Today I decided to walk on an 15% incline. When I I was done with this workout, I put the incline back down to 0% and it stayed at 15% no matter how many times I tried to get it down. The machine even said the incline was at 0% when it clearly was not. This was extremely frustrating as I just wanted to walk normally after completing a hard workout. Very frustrating!

They desperately need to add another location nearby or something, this one is always overcrowded & there is never any parking. I've been to several other planet fitness locations and this is the smallest and most no-frills one I've ever seen. The facility itself is fine if the stars align that you can actually find a place to park and the machines you want to use are available.

Most equipments need to replacement, they are old and not safe.

They’ve sold too many memberships for the size of the gym. Hard to get a good workout in when you’re constantly dodging people.

This is my usual gym, and a lot of people say that planet fitness is a bad gym, but it's great. If you're a new gym user or a gym fanatic you'll find everything you need here! Dumbells, plenty of machines, tons of cardio, and they have a great aerobic section. They have a tanbed and a few other options you can pay extra for but I've never used them. They also have a couple protein drinks for sale if you need some quick protein after your work out. They also have trainers here you can hire, and I've never personally hired them, but seen them working with people. The trainers seem very happy and upbeat, and they seem too really like helping people. What are you waiting for? Stop by and train up!

This specific gym like taking money from people. I canceled my membership is nov of 2019 because I got very ill and was needed to live out of the area and was not charged from nov 2019-June 2020. Then July comes and i am being charged again now they claim I never canceled and said the charges were justified. Edit: the manager who I won’t say by name was also very rude and condescending, just telling me I was wrong instead of listening and working with me. I will never use any planet fitness every again after this because this seems to be a problem with these gyms.

Imagine not being to the gym in a year then being hit with $155.00 fee as if we aren't in a recession. Greedy thieves are what they are. I will NEVER consider going to another planet fitness or advise anyone to make an account with them! Find a more honest company!!

You get good value for the money you spend on membership. The facility is neat and clean, staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. If you want to get yourself into better shape without going broke planet fitness is for you!

Great gym. I love going there. I wish the crowd meter would be more accurate to be honest. The app has like 9 out of 20 bars and I enter the gym and it’s jam packed. Would give 5 star if the meter gets sorted.

Nice clean facility. With a variety of equipment and machines. While on the small side it makes up for being inviting and having great equipment. Overall great value for the price you pay for a membership.

I love using the cardio and weightlifting machines. The staff is always friendly and helpful. My favorite part is the Hydro bed after I am done with my workout. One thing I wish they would improve is the app. It would be nice to have a way to scan each machine to enter into the activity history. They only have a few options and you have to manually enter stuff, not great when you are in the workout grove. None of the weight machines are in there individually. They have a qr code to watch vidoe instructions on each machine so people that are not knowledgeable can easily figure it out. So they shoyld be able to do the same for activity history entery.

Very personalized. If you want it to be. They have all taken the time to know my routines. Like I always tan when I first come in then go the the 360 machine. The two trainers that I have had there have been wonderful.Sam and Cory are are both kind and knowledgeable. The don't let you slack, but take into considerations age and weakness's. And as a 60 year old I appreciate that. The gym is usually clean and organized. All the staff are friendly and attentive when need be.

They Got Everything you could want in a Gym to get ya fit, and a Awesome Hydro Massage Table, and a Tanning Bed setup. The People are all Nice Folks and No Judgment Atmosphere is Legit! Everyone deserves to access Good Health Equipment, this place offers Training and everything. Showers, it's great.

Surprisingly, I like this place. I joined to rehab my knee and because it is $10 per month. The place is clean and the equipment in really good shape. The people are friendly, but keep their distance. Only a couple gross people there, but not too many. Front desk workers are very nice and helpful. I like to take purple Tootsie Rolls on the way out, which of course is counter-intuitive to my working out, but I like free candy. Locker room is laid out well and is functional. I do not see alot of people using it except for bathrooms. One suggestion: get some massage tables so I can stretch on them as I cannot get on the floor yet. Need raised stretching tables, especially as your clientele has alot of older people.

It is nice gym and staff is also nice, only thing they need bench presses and scale for checking weights.

PF needs to contact this franchise and ask why it is in such poor condition. Every smith machine needs serviced. If you allow the bar to fall, it drops like a feather. If you push against it (Bench Press) you add an extra 10-20lbs. The men's sinks smell like backup sewage. I hate lifting here and I try to avoid this particular location as much as possible.

Clean enough, plenty of equipment for us to get in and get out! NEED TO HAVE A RECYCLE BIN for all those plastic bottles that move through your facility. This should be a standard for all PF facilities!

Super crowded on a Tuesday evening, so much so that I couldn't even get a picture of any of the equipment without another person in it. I won't do that - no lunks! - so we have only the outside today. The thirty minute circuit worked well for me today and then I was able to pop into the locker room for a decent shower. Good changing area and the hot water worked well. Definitely a good stop. One caution is the parking area. It is narrow and you must follow the directional signs. There is absolutely not enough room to fit two cars past each other and I did have some challenge finding a long enough space for the Sprinter van.

Many people enjoy working out at this gym, and I can certainly understand why. The facilities are well-maintained, and the equipment is top-notch. Additionally, the atmosphere at Planet Fitness is very supportive and welcoming, which makes it a great place to work out. Regarding the need for a free weight benching and squatting area, I can see why this would be important for many gym-goers. Weightlifting is a popular form of exercise, and having access to this equipment is essential for those who want to build muscle and strength.

Castle Shannon planet fitness is the best in the area. I have been to the Bethel Park, Bridgeville, Crafton, and Hampton locations and Castle Shannon is BY FAR the best. It has seen a major upgrade in the last 4 months in the cleanliness of equipment and facility overall, directly related to the new General Manager-Nick. If you are looking for a gym in the south hills, this is where you want to be. The staff is beyond friendly and helpful especially Zac, Kailyn, Caleb, Marshall, and Nico. This gym is a well oiled machine when that crew is behind the desk! I rate it 100/10!

EDIT: I went into this gym to freeze my membership for a month. I was told that it was all set. Now four days later I see they took the fee out of my checking account anyway. EDIT#2 : I had to call the other location that I signed up into to figure out what was going on. That manager explained things that the Castle Shannon clerk didn't say anything about: You can't freeze your membership the day before it's due. Freeze your membership before/by the 10th. My advice to anybody is to ask for a manager. To be perfectly honest, I don't know if this is stated in the contract or not. ORIGINAL REVIEW: When I arrived, the person behind the counter was a different person and was also very knowledgeable about policies practices and what she had to do to fulfill my request. The gym also looked very clean. I hadn't worked out in that gym previously I am a black member and look forward to one day working out in that gym and the rest of them. Great customer service.

Castle Shannon Planet Fitness is by FAR the cleanest gym I've ever been to. The staff is friendly but unintrusive, the members are friendly, the equipment is in amazing condition, and the staff regularly cleans literally everything in the gym. I've gone to other Planet Fitness locations and they're okay, but I love the Castle Shannon Planet Fitness!

Honestly of every PF in the area, Castle Shannon branch is the best one in my opinion. It’s always very clean. They have the newest cardio machines. The staff are always cool and friendly. I wish I could do something to show them my appreciation. I feel like they deserve praise. I know it’s not easy to maintain a place like 24/7. I thought about tipping them in past but didn’t want to make anyone feel uncomfortable. Thank you very much for everything and great job!

This location is always clean, has a friendly staff, and polite members, and the app is key for finding the right time based on crowd size Planet Fitness in general needs a way for people to connect with Bluetooth either through the app or on the machines.

I love the new Matrix equipment. Something for everyone in a clean, well organized exercise/workout facility. The staff is friendly and helpful and restrooms and lockers are available!

I love my planet fitness because it is close to where I live, clean, open 24 hours. The staff is always helpful. I hate that ABC is not a choice on the screens.

My only complaint is the men's locker room. We have a total of just 4 regular sized lockers. Why? Take out one or both of the mirrors in the locker room and put in another 6 regulation lockers. There are three large mirrors above the 3 sinks in the back of the locker room. Normal size lockers we need; mirrors we don't.

I'll start with what I do like, open 24/7, cheap price, convenient location, some of the staff is cool. And what I don't like and the reason for my review. In my opinion as someone who takes working out seriously, this gym feels limiting. In the lifting community planet fitness is a joke. Alot of my friends wouldn't be caught dead here which is unfortunate because it has the potential to be a great gym given the pros i outlined above. The equipment is lacking. Some of the staff is uptight and overbearing. (Although others are super friendly and one of the managers hooked me up with a water one time) They do knickle and dime you for water and Gatorade when they don't even have protein shakes and the water fountain is refill only atm... any other gym should be giving out free waters due to the circumstances! Like "come on man". The gym I went to previously would give out apples all the time and I loved it! You also can't record yourself for form or bring a trainer. I'd love it if this gym was a little looser with their policies as i feel like I'm in high school sometimes when I go here. It also feels like a lack of privacy being all in one room instead of having separate rooms for benching like some gyms do.. For the most part it is quick and convenient and also cheap so I'd rate it 2.5 stars.

Convenient, cheap, clean, but not much else. For 95% of people this gym is enough. Or I could go to other mt Lebo gyms and pay $60/month for some nicer equipment and a "class" in spin or lifting. If you know your routine come here if you need 40 other suburban housewives to compete against for motivation, go to most other gyms in the area.

I'm a little torn by the philosophical paradox. It is a "judgement free" zone, but if you wear the wrong shirt or put the dumbbell down to noisily, the staff rings a bell so that the entire gym, staff and clients, can mock you together. It seems worse than throwing the dodge ball at the nerdy kid in gym class.

I've worked out at a few different pf locations across the US and this one lives up to the pf mantra. Small but the staff is friendly and the place is clean.

It's fine enough. I go very late at night or very early in the morning, around 4:30 AM. The music is apparently not adjusted for different times of the day. There have been multiple times, when I had my ear buds at full volume, and the music in the gym was too loud for me to hear the music that was directly in my ears... Also, the pad on the preacher curl machine is very worn as are the arm rest on one of the ab machines, AND one side of the 60lb barbell has a loose weight that spins on you when you do curls... I have told them about it at least 3 times over the last year. Someone is going to get hurt when that thing finally breaks... Other than that the place is fine. I feel my critisim s are very minor, nothing is perfect. But the barbell should be fixed for safety reasons.

As a guest of a black card holder. this place is great. Sure I don't get all the benefits that a black card golder gets but I don't need them. I have almost full access to the gym. Locker rooms are provided and peroxide spray is available (replaced regularly) to use to clean down machines after use.

Great place, clean, staff is friendly and professional. The other 3 PF's I've been to have soap dispenser in the showers, which is a nice perk. This one does not and the shower stalls are much smaller too.

The personnel is outstanding. They are ALWAYS so proficient, expedient and courteous. I can't help but compare PF to LA Fitness and, truth be told, there IS no comparison. PF is a much cleaner gym. Its machines and equipment are up-to-date, and I do believe it's air conditioned; something LA Cesspool doesn't have..

There are signs everywhere about how masks are required but staff dont wear masks or wear them correctly (over the nose). The patrons dont wear masks. I saw people cleaning equipment while breathing on the equipment after they cleaned it. And thats just the 1% of people who actually clean their equipment. This pf is trash

Planet Fitness is an affordable place with decent equipment and good staff. I have been taking a good friend with me on my black card membership and we have been getting good exercise. The gym is also very clean with the staff going around periodically sanitizing the equipment.

Clean place with a friendly staff. I'm sure it's perfect for anyone just looking for cardio equipment. they have enough treadmills for everyone in the country. If you're looking for strength training equipment it's a nightmare. The place is absolutely jam packed every evening. Trying to use a bench or Smith machine is a joke. They're always full.... Always. There's nothing more aggravating than having to wait 30-40 minutes for a machine in the middle of a workout. They'll keep selling those memberships though.
