We enjoyed the food, wine and atmosphere, but we did not eat hummus, because, for some odd reason, it contains dairy. Who puts dairy in hummus?

I came in on an afternoon to try a gyro since I was craving one and this establishment is only a couple blocks away from where I live. I decided to get the lamb gyro with the toppings on the side. The lamb was delectable and the tzatziki sauce was divine. The tomatoes, onion, and lettuce were extremely fresh so I was pleasantly pleased. I wish the pita bread contained just a little more moisture and I wish there were better sides to go with the gyro like fries. The gentleman behind the counter was extremely courteous and gave pleasant customer service. Great place to go to if ever craving Greek food.

The absolute and only reason to journey into the toilet that downtown Memphis has become, would be to visit this little oasis of Olympus! Seriously, Mount Olympus, home of the Great Greek Gods HAS to smell just like this amazing restaurant! The atmosphere is wonderful, (if a bit busy) and the food is FANTASTIC! I was hoping for some truly good food, which is surprisingly hard to find in this town, and when my son mentioned this place, I wanted to try it. True, the location was a total turn off, 412 South Main street. We'll, I strapped on three different pistols, and we entered the "no go" zone. It might just be worth taking a bullet in this war zone for the very good food of this fine restaurant! Affordable and delicious! Pictures included!

You can't convince me there is a nicer group of individuals running any other restaurant in Memphis! The lady at the counter helped me find a dish that I would like. I ordered the chicken and veggie gyro with pita chips and cheese dip. The food was delicious and fairly priced, the customer service was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is attractive and clean. Perfect spot for a healthy lunch.

Best Greek restaurant I’ve ever been too! Great prices and staff! The girl behind the counter, I think her name is Karen? Super friendly! I’d highly recommend!

Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your wonderful food during all of this uncertainty in the world right now. We drove in from Oakland just to get food from y'all. It was awesome and a wonderful break from the home cooked meals we've been enjoying as of late. It made for a perfect afternoon. God speed and Happy Easter.

Very average food. No what I was expecting with previous reviews. None of the entrees came with pita bread. The best thing we tried was the spinach pie. The chicken gyro bowl was a iceberg lettuce salad.

Came here based on a friend’s friend recommendation and it was the best! We ordered chicken gyros and a veggie gyro. Not pictured is the veggie gyro. Both variations were tasty and adding the sauce that comes with it had enhanced the flavor profile. They give you a fair amount of meat so a part of me wished I got more veggies haha. We dined in and sat outside. The seats inside were all occupied. The staff working was really nice also and we had no problems ordering and getting our food.

Loved, loved, loved it. Got a bottle of wine hung out with friends had some Greek pita nachos with feta and meat sauce. The owner visited with us and shared the fact that she only makes family recipes. Guess that's why it was so delicious.

The staff and food we're excellent. I had the lamb/beef gyro and a Greek salad. The ingredients tasted fresh (don't know if they were, but tasted that way). This was my first time eating here, but I shall return, soon. If you're searching for a taste of Greece, I recommend the Grecian Gourmet Taverna.

I love all the food here! This week is downtown dining week and I got the soup, lollipop lamb chops and the custard pie. Everything was delicious! I especially loved the lamb chops! 💋

This was a great lunch stop on a recent trip to Memphis. Spanakopita was the best I've ever had, and the Baklava was a tasty and perfect small dessert. Very cute decor and friendly wait staff.

Went here for a late dinner with the family. We had the lamb gyros and the kid each had lamb gyro bowls. The gyros were pretty good. The portions were great! What really took the cake was bhaklava cheesecake. It was absolutely amazing!

The food was excellent! Couple of menu items were modified from traditional Greek food, but it wasn't completely different. The stuffed grape leaves were fantastic!

The restaurant was chosen based on the reviews. My orders were SPANAKOPITA, and MOUSSAKA and have same taste ingredients. GYRO BOWL, LAMB SLIDERS the meat has same taste, same ingredients. PITA CHIP BOWLY the bread was not fresh, Hummus was good but TABBOULEH odd taste. From my knowledge about Greek restaurants they are creative, this exceeded my expectations. Fortunately for me, there are outside seating because the restaurant inside smells not good and needs ventilation.

Really tasty and very fresh and delicious. The little spherical white cookie was less than stellar, but everything else was excellent. Kinda high at $20 for lunch, but worth it

Ordered a to-go Chicken Gyro Wrap on my way through Memphis. The wrap was too dry and the tzatziki sauce was very very dry. I have had Gyro wraps before but this one was bone dry. Edit: I previously (3 months ago) gave a 1 star review but I have updated it since then to 2 stars remembering the wrap altogether wasn't that bad but like I said, it was very very dry. I would love to try their food when I am passing through Memphis again.

I went during dinner on 11/11. The two working the front were awesome. Very nice, attentive, and prompt. Didn't get their names, but shoutout to those two. As for the food, I had the grape leaves. They were amazing. Fresh and super stuffed. I typically get grape leaves at any Greek restaurant I visit, and these were easily some of the best I have had.

Stopped in last week for lunch and had the gyro. Got it to go because I was working so picture is from in truck so I take blame for sloppy picture. My gyro was loaded with meat! Hot and fresh on a soft pita with a side of cucumber salad. The staff was super friendly and the owner chatted with me while I waited. Great people and great food. Can't wait to try more dishes.

My 1st time having Greek food. I Had the beef and lamb gyro, baklava and Greek salad. Everything was delicious and fresh. Lamb and beef were moist and tender. Baklava was heavenly.

greek food... so good. Went there on a Saturday. Nothing but enjoyable experiences here. It has a great feel to it. Food is similar to a cafe in Portland I loved.

My daughter enjoyed the homemade sangria. I took a sip - it was delicious! We had the pita chips and hummus and a baklava. The food was great, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was quite pleasant. we didn't really taste much wine but there seemed to be a great selection. If we had more time we would have gone back.

I normally post pictures, but they food was fye. They should add banana peppers to the menu for those gyros. Everything had a nice portion size. First time trying the feta cheese dip. It wasn’t too spicy, but it did have a kick. We’ll be back 🥰

So, we are from out of town & saw that this place got 5 star reviews. It was horrible! I ordered Mousaka & the only thing good was bechamel, the eggplant wasn’t cooked enough, & you can tell their food wasn’t cooked fresh daily, this tasted like it was cooked last week! My husband got pastitso it was horrible! The 5 star reviews they get is obviously from friends & reviews they give themselves! It just goes to show you the “rating system” doesn’t work!

Walked by with the dog yesterday and was greeted by, presumably, a very friendly owner. The door to the business was open and the smells wafting out were wonderful. The gyros were some of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend Grecian Gourmet for its amazing food and friendly service.

The young lady thank took our order was very friendly, patient, professional, and welcoming. The food was delicious! 😒 I would give five stars if they didn’t charge for to-go containers. Also the to-go containers aren’t even bio-degradable. I had a lamb gyro without the pita. 🖤

I don’t know where to start! Super excited to find this spot near where I live! So far I have tried the moussaka and the pasito... not spelling that correctly! The meat sauce that goes with these dishes are just divine! Nice options of take and bake (fresh) at home as well as casserole sizes (freezer case). Tonight I had a bowl of the Avgolemono Soup Aka Greek Lemon Chicken Soup. It was amazing! Can’t wait to try the gyros!

If you love Greek food, get in your car and exceed the speed limit to go to this place. It is excellent! Memphis hasn't had a real Greek restaurant since a place call "Melos" closed about 15 years ago. For those of you who can remember Melos, the food at this place will being back memories. For those of you in the Mid-South area who enjoy great tasting food (with some of the most interesting seasonings that you can't quite make out), its worth the drive to come to this place. The only thing possibly better than the food is the service, the people there are wonderful.

Good traditional Greek food. Tried the lamb gyro, dolmathes, spanakopita and spicy feta dip. The lamb was soft and tender. The spanakopita was amazing and perfect. The dolmathes were a bit meaty and dry and needed to be more lemony . But otherwise, highly recommended for Greek food.

My friend and I went here last time this year and I'm so excited to be bringing him back!! This is the thing we spoke about most in telling others of our Memphis trip. We saw the stars of General Hospital, Graceland, Sun Records. But this was the jewel. I've had other pastitsio, but hers is what I want. Dino is Greek. ALL Greek. He was moved by the food, saying it was like when he was a kid.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner on 1/23/21 and the food was fair. We both got the Gyro with Lamb/Beef and rice puddings for dessert. The meat must have been cut earlier in the day because it was kinda rubbery. The rice pudding was not good, kinda gritty and the rice was undercooked, crunchy. Also a heads up if you get take out they charge for to go containers. Can’t say I’ve ever been charged for a to go box.
