Wow, nothing like Jamaican food on a Sunday. I hope the photo will show what I describe as phenomenal tasting food. Started off with Chicken wings, conch fritters, and pimento chicken, allow me to tell you this was some good food to start with. For the main course I hate curry goat, absolutely phenomenal as well. For dessert I had the banana ice cream on rum cake, too good. Shawn was our server, top notch, highly recommended gentleman. This place was the bomb, if you want Jamaican cuisine this is the place to go while you’re in the Navy yard area.

Service: Austin greeted us when we walked in and immediately seated us. Friendly helpful service. Daniel also came over and assisted with our table and took our food orders. Both of them were very helpful. Food: Jerk wings are not jerk wings. They are whole wings and the after taste of (all spice) whatever they season the chicken with is OVERWHELMING and disgusting. We could not finish the wings. I'm telling you don't try them. We have eaten jerk wings all over Caribbean islands and NONE of them used whatever seasoning they use here. The brown stew chicken, rice and beans and plantains on the other hand was DELICIOUS! The plantains were cooked perfectly, the chicken was tender other than biting into a clove in the stew sauce and the rice and beans were ok. Cleanliness: Other than not having paper towels in the bathroom to dry my hands the bathrooms were just okay. Vibe: We went on a Saturday afternoon. The DJ was playing all the top Caribbean songs and latest hip hop but it was so loud we continuously yelled across the table to hear each other.smh. Eventually they cut the music down. Dress code was brunch type attire and a mix of casual chill.

Love this place! Good food. Good music. Good vibes. I actually had my birthday dinner here last year. I've liked just about everything I've tried here, but if you like fish and a little spice, get the the fish escovitch! AMAZING. And honestly, it's shareable for two unless you're wanting leftovers... In general the food portions are generous. If you're not sure what to get, I recommend ordering a few dishes for the table to share! Also, get the frozen drinks. I got the guava daiquiri and piña colada mix. Seriously sooo good. I'll be back! ❤️❤️❤️

The venue/atmosphere is absolutely amazing. We came by because it was so nice outside and sitting on the water was beautiful. The service was excellent — everyone was so friendly and it was such a nice touch that the chef came and said hi before we started eating. The cocktails were unique and really solid. The food was overall good, but there were a couple things we wouldn’t order again. The spicy cheese was a standout and elevated with the sauce it was served with. Great place to spend a Friday night!

Visited for my birthday brunch and it left a bit to be desired in terms of food, service, and authenticity of flavors. I was excited to visit Bammy's due to its social popularity and despite it being disappointing I enjoyed my visit because of my great company and the tasty rum mimosas. More below: PROS: Beautiful waterfront location, unique menu choices, tasty rum mimosa service during brunch CONS: Kind, but lacking/non attentivr service, long prep time (approx. 25mins for apps), overly spicy and dry entres, salt fish critters were lacking flavor

This is not Jamaican food and neither are the chefs, except for one who is not the main chef. I ordered something that is mistakenly called brown stew chicken. Not sure from what culture this so-called brown stew chicken is from, but it's definitely not Jamaican. I wasted $23 on chicken that has to be discarded. Please understand that Jamaican and Trinidadian food are totally different, not the same! So you can't combine the spices and techniques and call it Jamaican. If you're going to combine different cultural techniques and flavors, you need to be trained and skilled. Im sorry, but this restaurant is not .The appreciation for the cultures is great, but if you are going to make a tribute to a culture or different cultures by opening a restaurant and advertising it as a specific cuisine, please make them proud. You can cook what you'd like but please stop advertising it as Jamaican just to draw a crowd. This will be the last "Jamaican " restaurant I ever try in the DMV. I'll just wait until I go home to get authentic food.

Ambiance is decent. Food is not authentic. For stew chicken they just added jerk chicken to some water down sauce. They think that people will not know the difference. The festivals are very small for the price. The fish was decent though. The jerk chicken was tender and nice. Overall, I would not recommend this place. Lastly the manager on duty, the guy with the long hair in a bun is condescending and o really rude he was not very accommodating to our group.

If you are looking for a different kind of meal in navy then this is the restaurant for you. Huge portion sizes too and taste fresh. The food has some spice but it's not too overpowering so if you like it hot hot ask for it. Also the drinks looked awesome and is a great spot for a date night. Also the doubles were a great app and the chickpeas were amazing.

I had the most amazing meal here! The brown stew chicken was some of the best I have ever had. We also ordered the red snapper and jerk chicken. We sat out on the deck, the weather was great and so was the service. On my next trip back I definitely will be coming back and also recommending it to anyone I may know who is traveling.

Fantastic meal. The jerk chicken was cooked perfectly and so tender. The curry goat was spicy and meat was very tender. I would absolutely return to try other menu items. Well done Bammy’s

Overall, the vibes were nice at the restaurant. However, I felt that this wasn't authentic or good Caribbean food. I started off with eating salt fish critters which were delicious. In regards to my entree, my rice was over cooked and the jerk chicken is not the same jerk chicken that you get at a traditional Caribbean restaurant. The chicken was more of a dry rub with a super spicy jerk sauce that they included to pour on the chicken. When I poured the sauce over the chicken, it was so spicy that it was unbearable to eat. Typically, the chicken is supposed to already be cooked with the jerk seasonings and sauce. I must say that the restaurant is located in a beautiful dock area, with beautiful views of the waterfront. Nice views, but I wasn't too pleased with their food.

Incredible views, service, and food. Our waiter and the manager were conversational, helpful, and really friendly - went the extra mile to give us some tips on DC and helped us discover a new cocktail to try from the frozen section during brunch.

The curry goat is solid. I didn't realize the collard greens would be soaked in coconut but it wasn't bad. The Coloring Book cocktail is nice and worth a try.

Oxtail appetizer(1) $$ was the largest and most tender. Had Brown stew chicken, although i wanted curry, its not a regular menu option. Good portions. Everything is al a carte. Rice and peas were just ok. Greens had a different taste but were good. $55 Painkiller nice taste, but not enough alcohol. I actually did enjoy the experience. I will go again. Maybe they will have curry chicken.

The food is simply outstanding. I tried the Saltfish Fritters, Pork Belly, Beef Curry, Festival and Plantains. Each dish was distinctive, well portioned and a definite recommend. The one knock was the service. My waiter disappeared as my wife and I wrapped up and I sat there for well over 10 minutes until I finally had to ask someone else for assistance getting my boxes and the check.

Atmosphere and service are good. Good is overall good. But Jerk chicken is authentic over a jerk drum. Maybe on a commercial grill or so...dry rub. Good portion of chicken as well for those who like that. (Plate is extra long....you'll be full when you leave.

If you love Jamaican and Caribbean food - you will love it here. Everything on The menu is worth trying. And the cocktails- they are out of this world. But a warning - two cocktails at Bammys are not the same as two cocktails anywhere else.

I love West Indian food. Looking at the photos and reading the menu made me want to try them asap. Unfortunately, majority of the photos from 8 months or more ago are discontinued menu items. I tried the grilled oxtail and doubles. I’m not a fan of big oxtail and the cost. It tasted fine. It was tender. I liked the coleslaw because it was spicy and sweet. The festival was okay. A-little sweet like it’s supposed to be but It wasn’t hot enough for me. The chick peas weren’t tender enough for me. It was spicy and not in a good way. It was overpowering. Parking is available on the street or garage near by. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. Service was fine but slow. I don’t think they had a lot of servers the day I went.

Loved everything!! Sat on the patio for brunch. Keep in mind the pepper jelly in the breakfast platter is SPICY! But delicious. Would recommend everything pictured. Need to come back for dinner asap!
