Die Woche in Hurghada im Steigenberger Ras Soma war auch perfekt. Den Delfin-Ausflug kann ich sehr empfehlen. Auch die Übernachtung auf dem Nil auf dem kleineren Segelschiff war eine tolle Erfahrung. Absolut sauber und das Essen war hervorragend. Ein grosses Kompliment an die Mannschaft, sehr freundliche Menschen. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder mit Dahab Tours buchen. Herzlichen Dank!

Wir haben vor unserer Kreuzfahrt von zu Hause eine private Gruppenreise für 7 Personen gebucht. Wir sollten komplett in Vorauskasse gehen, was uns eigentlich ein mulmiges Gefühl beschert hat, aber wir wurden keine Minute enttäuscht. Wir wurden von Yuzef am Hafen in Aqaba abgeholt und wie verabredet nach Petra gefahren. Es war so nett. Er hat sich viel Zeit für unsere Fragen zu Land und Leute genommen. Auf dem Rückweg nach Aqaba haben wir noch einen kurzen Abstecher in die Wüste gemacht und eine kleine Stadtrundfahrt durch Aqaba. Es war so ein gelungener Tag! Zum Guide: Anwar war jederzeit ansprechbar, er hat toll alles erklärt und uns Land und Leute näher gebracht, vor allem aber hat er eine sehr sympathische Art, ist sehr offen und begeistert von seinem Land. Anwar hat die Gruppe sehr gut integriert. Bei kleineren Problemen wie der nicht in Hotels angekommenen Halbpensionsbuchung hat er rasch gehandelt. The group size was never more than 5-7 people. What we then experienced was a series of breathtaking moments. The trip can be roughly described in 3 parts: Cairo - Nile cruise - Red Sea Part 1 - Cairo: As soon as we arrived at the airport, we were expected by a dahabtours employee in front of the immigration counter and were always brought to our next destination by a driver in a modern minibus during the entire journey. In addition to the typical locations such as the Egyptian Museum, the Pyramids of Giza, the Muhammad Ali Mosque (and many more), there were always small stops and breaks at well-selected places to eat and, if desired, tips for souvenirs away from the tourist strongholds . On all day trips we were accompanied by very competent and German-speaking guides and were able to learn a lot about the history of Egypt, but also the life of today's Egyptians. Part 2 - Nile cruise: After a short stay in Cairo, we continued by plane to Luxor. The following days on a cruise ship were certainly the highlight of the trip! We felt particularly comfortable with our guide Mina. With his open and warm-hearted manner and his overwhelming expertise, every day was like a little excursion into the history of ancient Egypt. Particularly impressive were the Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings and the excursion through the desert to Abu Simbel and a Nubian village through the nature reserve near Aswan (the latter two were the few of the additional excursions that can be booked on site ). The daily routine was designed in such a way that the evening before, when the Nile cruise ship docks, the excursions start and Mina was waiting for us in the ship lobby. After the excursions we went back to the ship. The mooring and travel times could be spent on the ship's deck with pool and enjoy the breathtaking view (palm trees, extensive fields in the foreground and rocky desert in the background, sunrises and sunsets). Part 3 - Red Sea: After a lot of culture and a trip through the Egyptian mainland, we finally went to the Red Sea. We had our snorkeling equipment with us and were able to observe colorful coral reefs and a variety of fish right on the hotel beach, which is unfortunately no longer a matter of course in Hurghada, as many reefs have already been destroyed by tourism. All in all, a wonderful trip with countless beautiful moments. Meal: During the entire voyage there were always meals in the hotels and on the ship (morning, noon, evening) or, as in Cairo, during a break in well-chosen restaurants. If the first excursion was earlier because of the mooring times, we got a packed lunch for the trip. The "curse of the pharaoh" did not overtake us, which speaks for the quality of the food on a European stomach. Security & Corona: Apart from the sometimes intrusive kind of street vendors (unfortunately you can't avoid them, since all routes to sights start or end with a bazaar), to which you quickly got used, we always felt comfortable and safe. (Original) Wir haben uns relativ spontan für die Reise "Sphinx 2 - 15 Tage Kairo Nilkreuzfahrt und Baden - Ägypten" entschieden und waren vorher noch nie in Ägypten. Die ganze Abwicklung ging total unkompliziert und professionell vonstatten. Wir waren zunächst ein bisschen überfordert von der großen Anzahl an Reiseangeboten erfuhren aber im Nachhinein von unseren Mitreisenden, die z.B. Ra II gebucht hatten, dass sich diese nicht grundlegend unterscheiden sondern auf besondere Vorlieben Rücksicht nehmen. Die Gruppengröße betrug bei uns niemals mehr als 5-7 Leute. Was wir dann erlebt haben war eine Aneinanderreihung von atemberaubenden Momenten. Grob kann man die Reise in 3 Teilen beschreiben: Kairo - Nilkreuzfahrt - Rotes Meer Teil 1 - Kairo: Kaum am Flughafen angekommen, wurden wir noch vor dem Einreiseschalter von einem Mitarbeiter von dahabtours erwartet und während der gesamten Reise immer von einem Fahrer mit einem modernen Kleinbus zu unserem nächsten Ziel gebracht. Neben den typischen Schauplätzen wie dem ägyptischen Museum, den Pyramiden von Gizeh, der Muhammad-Ali-Moschee (und viele mehr) gab es immer wieder auch kleine Stops und Pausen an gut ausgewählten Orten zum Essen und auf Wunsch auch Tips für Souvenirs abseits der Touristenhochburgen. Bei allen Tagesausflügen wurden wir von sehr kompetenten und deutschsprachigen Guides begleitet und haben viel über die Geschichte Ägyptens, aber auch dem Leben der heutigen Ägypter lernen können. Teil 2 - Nilkreuzfahrt: Nach dem kurzen Aufenthalt in Kairo ging es weiter mit dem Flieger nach Luxor. Die darauffolgenden Tage auf einem Kreuzfahrtschiff waren sicherlich das Highlight der Reise! Besonders wohl gefühlt haben wir uns hierbei mit unserem Guide Mina. Durch seine offene und warmherzige Art und seine überwältigende Sachkundigkeit war jeder Tag wie ein kleiner Ausflug in die Geschichte des alten Ägyptens. Besonders beeindruckend waren hierbei Karnak Tempel, das Tal der Könige sowie der Ausflug durch die Wüste nach Abu Simbel und zu einem nubischen Dorf durch das Naturschutzgebiet bei Assuan (die beiden letzteren waren die wenigen der zusätzlich buchbaren Ausflüge, welche man auch erst vor Ort buchen kann). Der Tagesablauf gestaltete sich so, dass am Vorabend besprochen wurde, wann das Nilkreuzfahrtschiff anlegt, die Ausflüge starten und Mina hat uns dann in der Schiffslobby erwartet. Nach den Ausflügen ging es dann wieder auf das Schiff zurück. Die Anlege- und Fahrtzeiten konnte man hervorragend auf dem Schiffsdeck mit Pool verbringen und den atemberaubenden Ausblick (Palmen, weitläufige Felder im Vordergrund und felsige Wüste im Hintergrund, Sonnenauf- und Untergänge) genießen. Teil 3 - Rotes Meer: Nach viel Kultur und einer Reise durch das ägyptische Festland ging es dann am Ende noch ans Rote Meer. Wir hatten unsere Schnorchelausrüstung dabei und konnten direkt am Hotelstrand bunte Korallenriffe und eine Vielzahl an Fischen beobachten, was in Hurghada leider keine Selbstverständlichkeit mehr ist, da viele Riffe durch den Tourismus bereits zerstört wurden. Alles in allem eine traumhafte Reise mit unzähligen schönen Momenten. Essen: Während der gesamten Reise gab es immer Mahlzeiten in den Hotels und auf dem Schiff (morgens, mittags, abends) oder, wie in Kairo, während einer Pause in gut gewählten Restaurants. War der erste Ausflug wegen der Anlegezeiten mal früher, bekamen wir ein Lunchpaket für unterwegs. Der "Fluch des Pharao" hat uns dabei nicht ereilt, was für die Qualität des Essens bei einem europäischem Magen spricht. Sicherheit & Corona: Abgsehen von der teilweise aufdringlichen Art von Straßenverkäufern (man kann diese leider nicht vermeiden, da alle Wege zu Sehenswürdigkeiten mit einem Basar beginnen oder enden), an die man sich aber schnell gewöhnt hat, haben wir uns immer wohl und sicher gefühlt. Alle Mitarbeiter (Guides, Fahrer, etc.) von dahabtours & Partner vor Ort sind laut eigener Angabe geimpft.

We booked the Ra II combination trip as a family and were in Cairo from December 24th, 2022 to January 7th, 2023, on a Nile cruise and swimming in the Red Sea. It was a wonderful trip to the Orient, everything was perfectly and professionally organized. We booked with Dahab Tours for the first time and were also in Egypt for the first time, so we weren't familiar with the procedures there. Thanks to the fantastic staff on site, everything went very well, from picking us up in front of the visa counter at the airport in Cairo, through the excursions and transfers to the return journey. One of the friendly guides was always on hand, the visas for entry were already in place and just had to be paid for, so we had no problems entering the country. You can read the description of the trip in Michael K's post, it was all very similar in terms of structure and the many sightseeing highlights. Our core tour group in Cairo consisted of 8 people; on the Nile cruise, the excursions were carried out in smaller or larger groups, sorted by language, depending on bookings. Maybe it's because of the nature of the holiday that different people with similar interests come together on such trips, but we definitely had a great group. While we still had a slightly different program in Cairo, which Sherif was able to organize for us almost without a hitch in an effort to do justice to everyone, the real relaxation set in, especially after the transfer to Luxor and with the support of our wonderful guide Mina. Mina is not only admirably educated and not only has immense knowledge, which he can pass on clearly and entertainingly, and sustainably, but above all his warm-hearted and approachable nature, his friendliness, his professionalism and calmness even in difficult situations (such as a suitcase that was thought lost in another travel group) and his humor gave the trip a special touch. Although it would have been entirely possible to get tired from the quantity of cultural highlights, Mina always managed to make this trip wonderfully easy, interesting and overall simply beautiful. Mina also gave us extremely good advice regarding excursions and local conditions. Many thanks to you for all of this, Mina, without you it certainly wouldn't have been the same wonderful trip. The return trip on the Nile from Aswan to Luxor was also particularly nice because the program was a little easier and there was more free time on deck. The ship's staff of the Radamis II should also be highlighted, who worked tirelessly for us in the restaurant, at the bar, reception and in room service, always with a smile on their face and authentically friendly, and conjured up an unforgettable New Year's Eve party and a wonderful New Year's breakfast for us; We won't soon forget this turn of the year.
