Decent place with comfortable beds. Walls are thin so you hear everything from the bathrooms and corridors. The entrance door is locked all the time so you always wait for someone to let you in. Impossible to store your luggage

The facade of the hotel already looks nice, and it absolutely keeps its promises. Both receptionists I met were very nice and helpful. I loved that one has to ring the doorbell to be let in as it made me feel safe. My room and bathroom were absolutely spotless. A hairdryer, tissues and even slippers were provided in the room, it had a desk, chair, and even a nice, second chair to relax. The location so close to the main train station is absolutely perfect, and it still is calm enough to get a good night's sleep. The bathroom is extremely small, even for me as a very short person. At night some boomers shouted in the hallway. Not the hotel's fault, but its thin walks also didn't help either. I will need travel several more times and will book the hotel again for those nextdoor trips.

I booked a single room and it turned out to look just like displayed in the photos. I was lucky to have gotten a room on the top floor because I had access to a shared but private balcony that was perfect for sunrises and sunsets. It also wasn’t hot as I had expected on the top floor. The room is small but didn’t feel cramped because the layout and decorations created a cozy environment. The room included two towels, slippers, a small TV and desk, sink, full length mirror, and a hairdryer. I had a shared bathroom (used the ones on the third and second floor because they were bigger). I met three different receptionists, all of whom were very nice. You can leave your keys with the front desk when you go out and can drop off your luggage in the side room on the first floor before/after you check out. The hotel is in a very convenient location; 5 minute walk to the central station (don’t use the route that Google Maps gives but turn left when exiting the station then cross the road when you see a Vietnamese restaurant), less than 10 minutes from the famous cathedral, and 20 minutes from the old town riverside. Its location near the central station means that there’s also easy access to local public transit. The street is dark at night but safe as there are both locals and other hotels’ customers. Walls and doors (automatically lock) are also soundproof so I didn’t even know that my floor was more than half full until I saw the cleaning person cleaning out the rooms. If you leave your windows open or sit on the balcony, you can faintly hear announcements from the train station but it shouldn’t disturb your sleep. I didn’t try the breakfast buffet but other reviews said it was good and I saw quite a lot of people eating breakfast in the morning (more people than I thought we’re staying the night). Their cleaning protocol is thorough too. I saw the person in charge of cleaning vacuuming hard to reach places, changing sheets. and airing out rooms. Note that there are no elevators. And the hotel is quite secure because you need to buzz in to enter and no one really enters unless they’re staying there. There’s a small coffee and tea stand in the lobby and you can use the outdoor patio on the first floor whenever. I would definitely consider staying here again if I ever revisit Cologne. It made for a relaxing, clean, comfortable, and quiet night’s sleep and is in a prime location. The price was also decent compared to nearby places’.

Small, but clean hotel. I had a very small room at the top floor with a shared bathroom. Room for sleeping was ok. I didn't need more. But bathroom could be better. I missed only teapot in room. Wifi also could be quicker. Breakfast was good, good choice of food. Very good coffe. And very pleasant stuff. Good location. Very near to main train station and to Dom.

Friendly service. Well thought out breakfast - boiled eggs, ham, cheese, breads, cut and whole fruits, cereals, yogurt, juice, coffee and tea. Clean rooms. Calm neighborhood. Ease of access to the Cologne train station (so also the Cathedral). Free Wi-Fi, toiletries, towels. Comfy beds. Affordable.

Comfortable, simple, and well located accommodation in central Cologne at a reasonable price. The staff were all very accommodating at all hours. Thanks very much for your hospitality.

Bad place. Stay away! I came to the main door with luggage and found it locked. To check in I had to ring reception and call the receptionist on the phone for 15 minutes before he turned up to open. He didn’t even apologize for this until I insisted and he reluctantly let out “Sorry, Sir”. He then gave me my room key and proceeded to explain that he would not give me the key to the main entrance because "there is always someone at reception to open for the guests 24/7” (which was demonstrated false a mere minute before). To add insult to injury, he said they were unable to store any luggage for guests after check out the next day, which seemed plain rude because there was plenty of space to store it (and also contradicts the claim that “there is someone at reception 24/7”). Finally, I get into my room, wash my hands and find no towels. I went back to see the receptionist laughing in my face and saying “usually towels are on the bed, Sir”, a bad joke to which I replied: Sir, have you seen Fawlty Towers? Your establishment is the German version of this. The guy is as morose as Basil Fawlty. Other problems: -The mattress was soft and uncomfortable. -One cannot lock the room door from the inside which means any other guest could enter my room at night. -Every guest has to ring the front door of the hotel for reception to open it so I could hear incessant ringing in the room while trying to sleep (the walls are thin). -A friend came over and was not allowed in my room “because you booked a single room”. I pointed out this was clearly against German federal law which allows visitors as long as they do not stay over the night. -It was very hot and no machine of any sort provided. -There were mosquitos and nothing was provided for this either

Fantastic location, friendly place, great breakfast. Rooms adequate if a little dated. Very clean. Fair price. Would recommend.

The hotel holds the status of "hotel" instead of "Hostal", which is the one that should have. It is tremendously expensive for the very low quality (more than 80 euros per night): rooms without private bathrooms, old forniture and very, very small rooms. And it is very noisy, you can hear everything happening outside your room: if someone opens the door, goes to the toilet/bath and even what they do there! If you can, please, stay away from this place.

Cute little hotel very close to the Köln Hbf. We had a double room with a private bath, and it was just what we needed - cozy, well-maintained, and a comfy bed. As for the wi-fi, well, you get what you pay for - it was slow and the signal was inconsistent. Ended up just using cell data to map out our route for the day. Since that was the worst thing that happened, I'd say it was a great stay!

The staff is perfectly friendly with a smile on their face, and always ready to help. The hotel is clean, the bed is comfortable. The location is perfect for Cologne. If we come to Cologne again, and I hope we will, we definitely want to be in this hotel. To recommend.

Top quality rooms and breakfast buffet, with fabulous staff and concierge services. The location is superb too with the Cathedral and train station within a few hundred meters.

Very nicr staff and their system of returning your key when going out is very convenient. There is always someone to open the door for you, 24/7. Beds were good and bathroom clean. Breakfast was extensive and very good.

Great service and breakfast. Super comfortable bed. Despite close to center, had quiet night of sleep. Recommend and would return.

Old fashioned hotel with everything well organized. Very close to the main train station but not noisy at all. I slept very well.

👍👍 An incredible place with a great collection of cars to buy and admire. It is completely free to enter something that absolutely blew my mind considering it houses the Michael Schumacher Private collection museum.
