The hotel does not really seem to be 4-stars. The rooms are very old (70-ies style – see my pictures), the furniture worn-out. It is not clean, there are stains on the carpet and the sofa. Very dark and grim curtains, hair (not one!) in the bathroom, very dirty glasses you would not drink from, internet working very slow – I had to go out from the room to have a better internet speed and to get my emails… the staff is friendly and tries to help you, I have to admit it. But they just seem not to understand that their hotel does not fit the modern standards of a 4 star hotel. They charge me around 200 EUR per night. I would not stay here even if somebody pays me for it. So if you get a change to book another hotel, go for it.

Perfect location, close to the main railway station and downtown. Hotel itself is nice too.

The hotel is located in a good place close to the cologne Central station. The staff was very nice and welcoming. The hotel itself is old and the facilities are not what you may expect for the amount of money you may pay. I would say it's very expensive because the service is far below expectations. For example with the same price you could get breakfast. The bed was not that comfortable. The space again to say was big and good and it had balcony. However my standards for a hotel counts based on my experience in different places. Rating and reviewing on that basis not just personal ideas.

We had a very nice large room with kitchenette on the 6th floor. Very cosy and a comfortable bed. Breakfast wasn't available but there are plenty of options nearby

Tick, Tick, Tick Hotel is really close to the station which is a good thing and a bad thing. Good obviously as in walking distance but bad as you can here them screeching past. Hotel has great double glazing which reduces this noise a lot but room was very hot (no air con) and if you open a window you can’t have a conversation in the room. The room I had was very clean and had a lovely clean smell to it. A bit in the dated side particularly the bed headboard which had a radio and an alarm clock embedded in it. This little clock was so annoying as it has a loud ticking which you can’t avoid. Nice shower with good flow. Staff very pleasant.

Delicious breakfast, great service, good rooms that are quite big. Only three stars for the noise you hear from other rooms and from outside. Perfect location for a city trip in Cologne.

Best value in Germany. Great friendly staff that are eager to help. If you stay, consider the breakfast option, also great value. The only negative, if you’re being picky is the shower pressure, could have just been our room but it was extremely slow. Would certainly come back.

Very comfortable, clean and large space with a minibar on witch it provides equipment can boil water. Close to the main station that is easy to chase the train. If possible visiting this city again, I would choose the hotel still.

Pretty good place, terrible experience with a blonde receptionist who insulted us, waiting 1 hour until she understood that she's trully stupid, not us trying to falsificate a stamp.

Good and clean hotel. Friendly staff and quick service. Will come back again.

Fair price and good location, the rooms are a little dated but are clean and comfortable.

The only thing missing here is breakfast service. Other than that, you will enjoy it because of the location and kindness of the personnel at the front desk

This cannot possibly be a 4-start hotel! Maybe 20-30 years ago. It is very close to the train station. While the receptionist was nice and polite, the room was terrible, so much so that we left after spending 15 minutes there, even though we had no other reservation and it was late at night. The carpet is old and in such a shape that I didn't feel comfortable taking off my shoes. The couch was stained, didn't want to sit on it. But the worst is that the whole room (including pillows!) smelled of sanitizer, industrial strength, I got a headache after being there for 10 minutes. Yes, room was clean, sort of (no dirt, clean linens on the bed, clean bathroom), but so old that no amount of cleaning products can fix it.

From the beginning, the staff was very welcoming, helpful and super friendly; their service was beyond excellent! The room was very clean, spacious and had a really cozy vibe! The location is perfect; just a few mins walk to the central station! All we can say is that Appartel am Dom will definitely see us back!
